Junior~Mints I doubt Ike would be a clone, considering.. Roy and Marth were related in someway right? So it would be right for them to have similar moves. If anyone played FEPoR you'd see that Ike will be different from his FE breathern wink Wrong. Marth and Roy are never even in the same game. @ Hero Maul Your right! We should have another random a** stage like another ice climbers stage! Because everyone's played Ice Climbers! Right?... Guys?... Quit overreacting. It's just ONE new FE character and stage. I for one am glad they're putting in characters from games people have actually played instead of Kid Icarus and Ice Climber. Seriously, where the hell did they come from? Yeah the Fire Emblem characters in Melee were random too but this time it has a fanbase here. People know the characters . Unlike obscure games where only a few people have played them. Also Fire Emblem is a series. A huge one here but moreso in Japan. Theres no reason why Ike or any other FE character shouldn't be in it.

Meta_Fish I like this stage. It's something new, in the very least. I like how they didn't say it was a certain castle or anything. Basically, "here's a generic castle, imagine it being whatever in whichever Fire Emblem." It's not supposed to be. But that situation is common in Fire Emblem minus the catapults. So it's basically supposed to represent all the times in Fire Emblem where a castle is under attack by the enemy. Also it's about bloody time we have a FE stage. We didn't even have one in Melee whatsoever. Waynebrizzle Does the Fire Emblem universe have statues like that? I don't remember them in any FE game I've played but they look like they would be so thats good enough

Edit: Looking at the screenshots again, you can see people (warriors?) in the background. I wonder if they're just there for decoration.

With melee , people never knew about FE in america. But now that it has 2 GBA games and a gamecube game here it's opposite. Now it's (for the most part) like "Oh hey, it's Ike from Path of Radiance" as opposed to "Who the ******** is this?!" Edit: I think it's probably just decor.

Raui @ Hero Maul Your right! We should have another random a** stage like another ice climbers stage! Because everyone's played Ice Climbers! Right?... Guys?... Quit overreacting. It's just ONE new FE character and stage. I kinda meant that they are pushing the same gameline twice. I thought we should have this update later and have something fresh. I like the stage, but it could've waited.

Fire Emblem is a good, solid franchise. It has a strong fan base both in Japan and in America and the UK. I for one am glad to see fresh characters such as Ike, and I will reserve my comments on how good a fighter he is until I actually know anything about how he fights. The Fire Emblem stage is to be expected, usually a character update is followed by something relating to that character. The stage itself looks great, and I can't wait to explore it.
Also, I've heard lots of people say that we are getting too many swordsman. In my opinion, as long each of the swordsman has a varied style of fighting it doesn't matter.
As for Marth and Roy, I love Roy, he's my favourite character in Melee. However, if someone had to be taken from the series out of the two of them, it would have to be Roy. Marth is the original character of Fire Emblem for a start, and Roy is the clone of Marth, not the other way around.
At any rate, I'll adapt to whatever happens.

FS, you used both for 3 places.
I loved Roy too. His Up+B move was full of spam, though.

Sweet. A lot of people theorized that the castle stage was from FE, but it's nice to see confirmation. And we had no idea that the one with statues was from the same stage. That's pretty cool. I can't wait to see what the underground area looks like. biggrin

I've never played FE, so I have no idea who the new guy is sweatdrop He looks pretty cool, but to me (please don't kill me for being a FE noob sweatdrop ) he looks like a mix between Roy and Marth neutral
I'm loving the idea of the Pitfall! rofl
I hope we get some more new music, to be honest. But more Characters too!
Oh, and more Capcom characters PLEASE. mrgreen Phoenix Wright FTW!!!
