For my next army I want to play Chaos SM, but I don't know if I want to play Thousand Sons, Night Lords, or Emperor's Children. Since there are evidently no advantages other than the Thousand Sons get a Nurgle-esque boost and Emperor's Children get sonic weapons, which one is the least played and has anyone had any experience with any of them?

Both are played a bunch, relatively. People love taking Thousand Sons against any army the AP3 is good against (See: Anything beyond IG, Orks, and 'Nids), while others enjoy the Emperor's Children a lot because of the spamming of shots and the wonder that is Lash of Submission. Two lashing winged Princes can lead to much joy for the Chaos player. Night Lords are played the least, but seeing as they're just Marines without as many options you're best playing a traited Marine Chapter [Until the new codex] to represent them instead.

I was reading through the Chaos Space Marines codex and it's a little bit confusing. It seems that you can just pick and choose war gear without a specific point cost.
What I find funny is that the Night Lords no longer have any special abilities (What exactly did MoCU and Stealth Adept do? I know they previously recieved 3+ cover saves but I couldn't find it in the newest codex and my rouge trader doesn't have any of the older codices. ) yet it states on the errata that they can't use anything other than furies.
On another Night Lord related note, I love the Raptor models (Not to cost though) but they seem a bit fragile for a front line assault/tank busting role. Anyone have any experience with them? Also, if I model some wings out of plasicard, apparently any night lord can move like a jump infantry.

I haven't played against them in a long time, but if they work the same way as Assault Marines with jump packs, they're pretty good at what they do.

Well, here's the deal. All of the Night Lords rules were taken out, so therefore = no longer legal.
Stealth Adept added +1 to an existing cover save, if I remember correctly. MoCU allowed them to re-roll failed Morale checks.
As XM said, Raptors have now been made into nothing more than assault marines. Back in their glory days, they were meant as units of terror with Daemonic Visage and Hit & Run.

The Khorne daemon weapon?
If that's the one you mean, yes, the Lord gets +2D6 additional attacks, which might take him over 10 attacks.

I like that you didn't trust me on that DE.Remind me to forward all codex books of my relevant armies should we ever play, as to avoid this myself.

I like that you didn't trust me on that DE.Iurno, just seemed a bit over-the-top to me. xd Mac, we both play IG, so for the most part, it wouldn't be an issue. I only really question the things that seem extreme or out of place.
