Clarinet is my life! Been playing since 6th grade, & now I'm in 9th grade. Marching band is the best thing in the entire world. Band families are theeeeeee best. Nothing can compare <3

Ok, I know this is a bit random but are y'all forced into pep band? At WCHS (Warren Central High School) every band member has been forced into pep band to play at our home basketball games...

Ello there! I'm Sarah. I've played Clarinet for about 7 or 6 years now. Currently in Marching band
Your forced... That must suck. I guess. If I only knew what PEP band was. >.< At woodland hills we don't have any of that stuff.Prob cause our school sucks, lol. I shouldn't be putting it done. We had a wounderful clarinet section, but suck at / .

yo I've been playing clarinet since the 4th grade, though i had wanted to play flute. I was in the elementary and middle school band and in high school i was in the symphanic band. I never tried out for wind ensemble cause i didn't want to compete, i play for the joy of playing. In highschool bot hthe bands would get together once a year to march in my local parade...poorly i might add. Which is why i eagerly volunteered to do flag twirling if offered. That was required. But I also volunteered to play in the pep band for the homecoming game and to play on street corners before the X-mas parade...in the cold...which sucks for clarinetists. Now i'm a freshman in college where there is no band crying . I can't even play for fear of angering the others in the dorms around me. crying

gigidoll26 Blue Roses 3 how hard is it to play the clarinet?? the reason i ask is because currently i play the tenor saxophone (which sometimes plays clarinet music/parts) and am thinking about switching to the clarinet but im not sure because i dont know if its harder to play the clarinet.. i dont really no which is hardr, clarinet or saxiphone, since 1.ive nevr played the tenor sax(even tho there r sum tenor saxes in my class XD)and 2.ive been playing clarinet 4 lik 4 years now and if u practice enough then u get really good X) well if u do switch 2 clarinet then i wish u good luck ^.^ i used to be able to play the scale on the tenor, but that was as far as i got. from that i dont think there is much difference on whether one is harder or not. the only difference i think is less keys smile its not like you are trying to learn how to play a brass instrument. thats hard.

I feel sad for you guys that are forced to go to basketball and vollyball games on top of football.
I only had football and assemblies, (when I was in high school) and now in college, I only have basketball (don't have a football team)
Y'know, even tho I havn't played a bass clarinet in a long while, I still consider myself a clarinet. I play Bb saprano every once and a while. So I guess that counts.
Power to the Black instrument!

Our band play's for the varsity football games and for our peprallies. Also if we get a chance we go on a yearly trip some where.Next year for use we go to Chicago(from northeast ohio)and march in a parade. So much marching work crying ouchhh! We did play for jv one time and some stuped football players beat up one of our tubas after. We are never playing for them again scream
