I have a few I like.
Jessica Sanchez was the only great girl. Skylar Lane and Hollie Cavannagh was decent as well. The rest weren't good.
The guys that were good were Joshua Ledet, Aaron Marcellus, Deandre Brakensick, Creighton, and Jermaine Jones. The rest were mediocre or bad.

The only American Idol winners I genuinely remember are Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, and ....
Nope. That's it.
I know Jennifer Hudson competed but didn't get far even though she's an amazing singer.
All this from never actually having watched the show xp

I could never really get into the whole competition aspect, but I love singing and music in general, so I still appreciate at least that part of it. So yeah, Jennifer Hudson has a gorgeous voice. And Kelly Clarkson is my guilty pleasure, so I might not particularly enjoy the show, but I like that they've discovered some good singers 3nodding

I'll explain to you why I think it's a joke:
Basically what they have done is turn music into a soulless art. Or more so, taken the art aspect out of it entirely. By making it a competition of "who's got the prettiest most generic voice" they're breeding a line of egotistical losers void of any real talent. These people who win as far as I know, don't even get to write their own songs; which I'm not bothered too much by considering they probably can't write for s**t to begin with. But by making it all about voice they completely throw off the necessary collaboration between vocals, music, and emotion.
I listen to all these winning bastards when they start making their albums and I don't feel anything from their music. It's mindless garbage. There are plenty of other artists who don't have voices as inherently good as these posers and the sensation I get from them is by far much better than these American Idol tools. They've completely taken out what's actually GOOD about music for most of the population.
What's more is there are only THREE people, THREE people who themselves have little to no musical talent, judging them and telling them whether they can have the privilege of being voted on FAIRLY. This is simply a recipe for re-fried s**t. Even the title is called "American Idol" yet it bases itself off of purely vocals. It's rather pathetic. And really, with how much of the population actually VOTES on American Idol, are people who aren't even committed to music. They're typically either kids in their mid-teens [********] and women in their late 30's and early 40's, and honestly do you think they have any taste in music?
These people are judged on their voice... something you are born with which can't really be called a talent, it's really just a crutch and an excuse to half a** your career.
I could say more but honestly my thoughts on this are all over.
