Earendil nodded. So there couldn't even be any guesses as to how long he would have to wait for her return. Well then, things would be as they always were: he would simply carry on with his life without expectation, only hope.
"Do you think Shiro might have gleaned something of what was going on while he was there?" he asked. "Or have an idea of how things might go when Aerin returns?"

"Shiro has photographic memory, he remembers everything even if it isn't that important. Even if he hasn't yet, maybe knowing what we know now might make him thing of something," Lin explained.
And in the mean time maybe she could figure out who to talk to so she could figure herself out. She felt, incredibly screwed up at the moment.

"Photographic?" Earendil asked, glancing down at Lin again. "What does that mean?"
It was not a term that he was familiar with - but then, he knew nothing of cameras and photographs and the like.

"He sees it and he remembers it," Lin replied, "It's just second nature to him. That's why he goes through books so fast, or needs other things to learn and experiment with. At times it's hard to keep him challenged."
Not to mention Shiro was also blessed with the ability be able to understand and use what he remembers, something most people couldn't do neither.

"And suddenly so much about him is explained," Earendil chuckled. "He does seem to remember everything. Yes ... if anyone would know anything about what was going on in Amon Darthir, it would be him."
He pursed his lips thoughtfully. "But ... what about Kaito? I know he's very playful but ... sometimes he says things that remind me of Shiro very strongly."

Lin looked thoughtful, it was hard to tell with Kaito, even though it was very obvious he was just as bright as his brother.
"It's hard to tell, they're twins so it is possible Kaito has the same ability, but he isn't that much of a bookish type to sit still for that long would make him fidgety."
Still, that was a thought since Kaito did explore the castle a lot.
"The thing I can say about Kaito for sure, is that he notices things differently from Shiro. He's quite... catty, so he'll depend on his other senses as well. Like smell."

"Guess he would be the one who would know if something smelled funny there," Earendil deadpanned. It lasted only a moment, and then he broke out into a grin. "Sorry, I couldn't resist."
It felt good to him that they could still talk like this without any awkwardness, even after their little discussion.

Lin blinked and giggled at that, it was a terrible pun. She knew it too, but she couldn't help herself.
"That was bad..."
But still it was funny, and it felt good despite the fact that discussion of theirs had been less than stellar.

Earendil chuckled softly. "Well. Though it does beg the question ... if they did notice something, then why wouldn't they have said anything?"
One would think after all, knowing that Rhea had been growing an attachment to one of the people there, that Shiro or Kaito might have said something ...

"It might not have occurred to them it was something to worry about. Shiro was in the library most of the time, and the King wasn't actually there most of the time. From my understanding things are a bit more easy going when he's not around."
Or a lot depending on how you look at it.

"And Shiro had never gone to the city," Earendil murmured, "so he would not have seen how things were there ..."
Still, there was nothing they could do about that until they spoke to Shiro and Kaito to see exactly what they knew.
"Kind of wish I could talk to them as well," he smiled ruefully.

It made her chew her lower lip, because Lin knew that would have been wonderful if he could come. Even if it was for a small while, but she knew better than that. They had this conversations many times before.
"Maybe by the time I get back Ura would be ready to go as well...." Lin murmured thoughtfully.

He would have to find something to keep his mind busy while she was gone, otherwise he would go mad with the waiting.

"Hmmm.... It depends on how long it takes Helen to make new clothes," Lin finally replied, "If I go to him first and then I can do my visits while waiting for the clothes."
Though in short she didn't know how long it would take. How long she would stay at all.
