Blade heard Riyo and Mitsu saying something softly, but he didn't quite pick up what was said. He glanced towards them for a moment, then looked at the weapon Kylar motioned towards. It did seem like it was well cared for, and well-made for that matter.
"Ah yeah, that's a pretty nice weapon there," he commented while looking it over, "If.. you don't mind me asking... what exactly was Dirk like?"
The question had a hint of hesitation as he wasn't really used to asking about that. But he wanted to know.
"I hadn't exactly met him before and all."
Jasper paused from his little meal and glanced up at Riyo. He heard the mention of food. Delicately picking up the half-eaten fish, he walked over towards her and placed it at her feet, as if offering it.

"Ookay." Riyo had been about to move, but noticed something at her feet. Looking down, she smiled at the cat and scratched him behind the ears. "Thanks Jasper, but that's all yours. We've gotta get something to feed us both." Her voice seemed to soften as she spoke to the cat, a smile apparent on her face.
Carefully treading toward Blade, she tugged on the sleeve of his jacket with the arm that Mitsu wasn't using as a security blanket. What she wanted was made obvious when she held her hand out like a beggar. "Monies please?" She asked, trying not to interrupt their conversation too much.

"Dirk was a good guy. He liked to laugh and smile and have a good time. Always enjoyed a joke....even mine and I know I'm not funny," Kylar gave a nervous laugh. "He was also strong and dependable. I really miss the old man." Suddenly friendly he reached out a hand and patted Blade on the shoulder. "You come from a good bloodline, my friend." He then watched the two girl's approach Blade, the one holding out her hand for money. "So I take it you two are jumping ship?" He apparently hadn't heard their conversation either, but his tone was a little teasing. "If you want a good breakfast you need to go to Momma K's just down the street. She makes everything." Wrapping his weapon back around his waist Kylar looked to Blade. "I imagine you probably haven't eaten either?"
Mitsu stayed close to Riyo as she asked about getting money. Their conversation had apparently not been overheard so when Kylar asked if they were 'jumping ship' Mitsu wasn't sure how to reply. "Ummm...hungry." She said honestly. Despite the filling meal from the night before she was already hungry this morning.

It sounded like Dirk was a very good man, and it was good to hear that he was being remembered well around here. Too bad he never had a chance to personally meet the man. Though, at least the guardsman here now had a better disposition towards them than when he originally met them.
Glancing at Riyo as she asked for money, Blade nodded and reached into his pocket to hand over a handful of coins. His attention shifted back towards the dragon when he suggested a place to eat.
"Yeah, I hadn't eaten yet," he said. Getting food seemed like a rather good idea right about now.
Jasper's only response to Riyo was a small meow before nuzzling against her hand. He then went ahead and continued eating his own meal.

"Just want some breakfast." Riyo promptly responded with a smile, though it was slightly forced. As Blade forked over the money, she looked down the street in the direction the dragon had ushered. "Momma K's it is then." She spoke and quietly led Mitsu that way, wondering if the two were going to end up following them anyways.

"Let me place Jasper's things by the house and we can head that direction. Maybe we can chat over breakfast?" Picking up the bag Kylar took it toward the house and set it down next to some of the smithy tools that were still outside. The cat could rummage that way and Kylar could worry about taking it inside later. Giving the cat one last pet he turned to Blade eager to continue their conversation. "My name is Kylar by the way. Kylar Rykaros."
The dragon seemed to have a much better temperament than Mitsu remembered and slowly she found herself calming. It didn't, however, keep her from clinging to Riyo like a barnacle on a rock. As they started their way down the street Mitsu finally released her grip on Riyo's jacket in favor of simply looping her arms around the other girl's. "What do you think they have at Momma K's?" Mitsu asked as she looked up at Riyo.
Not completely sure what was going on Tobi decided to follow behind the girls. He had heard mention of food and that always promised table scraps.

"Sounds good to me," replied Blade, "I'm Blade... Blade Faryn."
Smiling weakly with the introduction, he motioned towards the girls with him, "And they're Mitsu and Riyo... The dog is Tobi."
It was actually pretty nice to be on friendlier terms with Kylar here, even if he was a guard. Durzo seemed pretty nice too, if not rather silent. Perhaps the other two they met were also nicer than they originally had let on. Once Kylar had set the bag away, he went to follow the girls.
Jasper, instead of following the dragon into the house like he normally would, trotted off after Riyo with the fish in his mouth. It was almost done now, but he figured he could finish it whenever they stopped.

It was a fairly simple trip so Kylar let the girls lead the way. They didn't seem to be particularly fond of him. "I'm feeling a little brushed off." He shrugged a bit at his observation before he continued with more important matters. Turning to Blade his smile broadened on his face. "So do you tend to favor the sword or are you trained in other weapons as well?" Talks of weapons and the like had gotten rather old with his comrades....when he brought it up they shooed him away.
About a block and a half away the group arrived at a little restaurant with 'Momma K's' painted in large red letters above the door. The smell of various foods were in the air, all of the breakfast variety.

Hitsu had quickly drifted off to sleep again, nice and comfortable as she was. The girl sounded like she was purring in her slumber, a small smile on her lips making her the perfect picture of contentment.
Her brother was pretty much the opposite right now. He'd finally rolled out of bed, although not quite as he had planned to; literally. After gracefully meeting the hard floor with his face yet again, the feline groaned in pain and irritation as he pulled himself to his ********... Lights..." Yuki was rubbing his eyes with one hand, trying to cease the aching of them and his head. He felt like he'd been run over by the wagon that had brought them to this insanity.
It took him a few minutes to realize that the cottage was very quiet... And empty? That couldn't be right. Furrowing his brow in confusion, Yuki's eyes settled on a closed door. Stepping over to it, he reached for the handle.
It was locked. Why was it locked? It wasn't the bathroom. Maybe someone was changing?
Yuki knocked, though just loudly enough to be heard. Noise made his head pound as well. "Hey, where the hell is everybody?"

Oh, the poor b*****d was in it now. Poke just watched him have a brief meeting with the floor and then, walk out the door. She decided that this guy was in desperate need of..something, she didn't know.
Getting up from the floor she walked outside and down the hall, the opposite way. She wasn't sure what time it was, but judging by the quietness she assumed everyone else was still asleep. She approached one of the doors and, unlike her usual loud self she knocked quietly on one of the doors.
"Atticus, are you awake?" she whispered, peeking in to see if this was the right one. If he was asleep, she hoped that she wouldn't be the one to wake him up accidentally.

She knew it. Call it intuition, but Riyo knew from the way the dragon had been talking that he was going to be following them to breakfast. Normally, it didn't really bother her. She held no fear for the dragon or any of his kind... But she couldn't say the same for Mitsu.
His comment was rather annoying, however, seeing as how it hadn't been their intention to 'brush him off', but to leave the two behind completely. Instead of responding, she pretended not to hear what he was saying, or that she thought he was talking to Blade. Better to avoid conflict that way.
As they reached the diner, Riyo didn't hesitate to walk in. The smells were much too appealing. "Hello?" She called softly, looking around the place with curiosity.
Atticus had been awake. His sleep had been rudely interrupted by the two animals going at it a room down, though he had said nothing as Mitsu left the room. Now, he sat with his glasses on, quietly sewing a quilt to pass the time. "Yes. Come in." He responded quietly, continuing his work.

At the comment, Blade glanced from the dragon to the girls. If they were trying to ignore or get away from them it was likely due to Mitsu's nervousness around Kylar. He didn't say anything in response to that and just went on to answering his question.
"I have a dagger too," he started, "Though yeah, it's pretty much just the sword I use. Have you learned other weapon forms?"
The scent of food stirred up his appetite some more as they approached the restaurant. It certainly smelled tasty. Taking a step in, he looked around to get a feel for the place, as well as trying to spy the contents of any tables that were within his line of sight.

Thankful he wasn't asleep, poke opened the door and walked in to Atticus...sowing. A quilt at that. She paused at the door and stared at him, trying to figure out why a guy would sow in the first place.
"...Thats a...very lovely quilt..." She said eventually, walking into the room. "...uh...I was wondering if you..had a hang over cure?" she tried to get a look at some of the patterns of the quilt

From the back a rather short plump woman appeared; hair pulled back into a neat little bun, apron about her waist, and a series of little horns surrounding her face. If it wasn't for the horns she would look like your typical grandma. "Why hello. Take a seat, take a seat." She came around the counter and ushered them toward a table. Pulling two small menus out of her apron pocket she placed them on the table for the girls to look over. "Can I get you something to drink?" She pulled out a small pad of paper, flipped to the first available sheet, and then pulled out a pencil to write with. "We have apple juice, orange juice, milk, water, a variety of tea, and coffee."
Having followed Riyo right in Mitsu was pleasantly assaulted with the smells of breakfast. Quite a bit of it smelled familiar so hopefully it would be easy to pick something to eat. Finally dislodging herself from Riyo's side she wondered around to the side of the table opposite the little old lady and took a seat. "U...uh...water?" Mitsu almost acted like she had been put on the spot, her brain wasn't working so well being deprived of sleep.
"Oh yeah," Kylar gave a nod. "I've learned quite a bit in my years. Archery, sword play, throwing knives, whips, bo staff and some others. Even the different swords I have require a little bit different technique to use them. You can't treat a claymore like a pair of twin board swords, its unnatural. But my favorite is this baby." He patted the weapon around his waist. "It takes quite a bit of work to avoid taking your head off with the blade at the end but its worth it." Entering the restaurant behind the girls Kylar settled on a chair on the side closest to the elder dragon. "Hey Momma K."
Hands on her hips at the sight of Kylar, the smile on Momma K's face was gone. "Kylar, aren't you supposed to be on patrol young man?"
"Well, uh...I had some errands to run."
"And this is an errand?" She gave him a look that was very doubtful.
"Ah, come on. Its only a short break for some waffles. You do make the best."
Huffing a little, the elder dragon began to write on her pad of paper. "If you get caught here don't expect me to cover for you again. You want the usual?"
"Nah, that won't happen. Branka won't expect me to be in the same place twice and yes. Waffles with syrup and strawberries, eggs and some coffee."
Smiling again Momma K turned to the remaining two quests. "And what can I get both of you?"
---
Neko had been content to watch Hitsu fall back to sleep. It was nice to be able to relax and soak up the moment. However, that moment of relaxation was short lived when there was a knock at the door. It was even worse when he heard Yuki's voice on the other side. "s**t." He whispered harshly pulling away from Hitsu and grabbing for his clothes on the floor. In lightening speed he threw on his pants and grabbed for his shirt.

Neko's movements had awakened Hitsu. She made a soft, questioning sound before stretching beneath the covers. Watching him a moment, realizing that he was hastily getting dressed, Hitsu sat up and tried to figure out why.
Another rapping at the door, this time a little louder. "Who the hell's in there? I can hear you shuffling around."
Hitsu's eyes grew wide and she leaped out of bed as well, grabbing up her own clothing and dressing just as quickly. Casting a half panicked glance at Neko, she wasn't sure how they could make this not look awkward. Yuki was at the door... The very last person either of them wanted it to be.
