It's crazy cold for me. I was born & lived most of my life in the subtropics. This northern latitude has some advantages, but I could do without the ice. The snow is a nuisance I can deal with, but I've fallen so many times on the ice it makes me dread winter. I need some shoes with spikes.

(I'm from Finland so apologies for my winter "craziness") whee We have currently around 14F to 5F (-10C to -15C) and I think it's pretty nice with all the snow and sun and stuff. About the shoes, key thing is to get good winter boots with real rubber soles. Plastic freezes over and becomes super slippery. Especially if the sole is smooth and without any ridges. Before you find any good boots, do you have these spikey things you can "pull over" our shoe so it will prevent you from slipping? Oh cool. I've never seen these boot gizmos before. I'll check into it.
Today we're in the single digits (Fahrenheit) and windy. I built a fire yesterday and I'm going to do it again this evening. It doesn't add a whole lot of warmth unless your within a few feet, but it makes me feel warmer just seeing it...and I sit by it when I need to.

Lilygwen gaia_nitemareleft Welcome back Mrs! whee emotion_hug Did you have fun and how did the wedding go? gaia_angelright Oh, you look pretty today. Yeah, it was an amazing trip! Unfortunately we ran into an issue with the paperwork and couldn't get legally married at all. gonk But... the holiday was nice.

It'll be a few days while the both of us network some answers and possible solutions, and then hopefully we'll be back on track in a month or two. It's not the worst thing, just more time. In other news, we had a small ceremony anyway, and there's absolutely zero doubt in my mind that my husband is completely devoted to me. emotion_bigheart

just dropping in for a quick hello. swear we've been sick since christmas. had some nasty stomach bug and now we all have the flu. the baby is the worst. we are headed back to the dr today because she is coughing so hard and it scares me. she is just so miserable. but i'm running on little to no sleep so not playing on the computer much these days.

Drakonis Darkblade Hopefully the paperwork gets sorted out for ya Sammirah. Thanks, DD! Fortunately it's more a "when" than an "if" sort of thing. One of the main obstacles is money, as neither of us make very much of it. I'm going to be looking at applying for some different jobs, though. 3nodding Possibly even abroad again!

You look fantastic! 3nodding @ Sammirah - I also hope you and your hubby can get the paperwork sorted out soon! In the meantime, it sounds like you're taking it all in stride despite the frustration. Hopefully this will all turn into a good story years down the line - about how much trouble you had to go through and how it was completely worth it! @Teeshann - (((((healing hugs)))) I hope your little one feels better soon!
