"NA!!" Little Guy screeched. The movement of Daemyn's head was enough to startle the tiny bird, but the Roar that erupted out of his mouth sent a shiver so strong it nearly paralyzed him as he flew. Totally forgetting to attack, panic caused Little Guy to switch to the fleeing mentality. Now, if he was in a normal predicament, he'd have Teleported safely up into the air, but Daemyn's Roar simply knocked all sense of direction from him. Rather than ending up in an ideal location, Little Guy now found himself Teleported right underneath the Houndour's belly. With a good amount of effort, Little Guy prevented himself from chirping in panic. He may not have been in the best of places, but if he kept quiet, maybe Daemyn wouldn't notice. If that happened, Little Guy would have a clear shot at the dog's underside, a fluked opportunity, but an opportunity nonetheless.

Meanwhile, a moment of silence was again in place. The Scyther may have been in a slight disadvantage with Sting in the air, but with the bug's speed and flight capabilities, Ky knew it wasn't much of an advantage at all. Sting also knew this, and kept his eyes constantly focused on his opponent's next move. If he was to avoid a potentially devastating Wing Attack, he had to play defensively. The Scyther was looking for an opening, always.

Ky than suddenly saw a shift in the Scyther's movement. "Harden!" he yelled, just before the bug disappeared from view. Unable to catch his enemy's path, Sting mustered all of his energy into his shell at the last second, just before he felt the Scyther embed his sword-like arm into his back. Using the momentum of his Pursuit attack, the Scyther then bashed Sting in the back of his head with the other arm, sending him towards the ground again. This time though, Sting turned around well before he risked crashing, hovering in place as he regained his battling stance. Irritatingly, the Scyther gave a bug-like laugh. "Too slow," it mocked.

Biff and Carley took up their evil plotting once more. They quickly aquired a rope and tied Linalee to the chair that had thrust her in. After pilfering her pokeballs the two removed the gag they had put on her to question further.

"So kid wanna tell us about your snooping?" Carley asked in a mockingly sweet voice. "Don't worry we won't hurt you..." She trailed on. Linalee was silent. Eventually Mag would realize that she was gone and look for her so she didn't have much to worry about. Good thing she didn't come alone or she might have really been in trouble.

"Giving us the silent treatment eh?" Biff responded. "Well at least we have two gifts for the boss once he lets us join up even if our other plan doesn't work." Carley smiled. "True, true. We will have a good haul either way, I'm just wonder what to do with this trash we picked up." She indicated Linalee. "We should send her with everything we get to be a personal assitant... or we could put some weights onto that chair and throw her overboard!" Biff said with an evil laugh.

Roaring could be heard for quite some distance around them as both Nidoking and Nidoqueen struggled to gain the upper hand from one another. Neither wanted to give an inch, to show themselves the weaker of the two, and the ground was torn up and scuffed from their thrashing about. Both Jaeshan and Lisa had long since given up on trying to give their feuding Pokemon battle orders, and both just watched the large, powerful Pokemon continue to fight for the advantage. Suddenly, it seemed as though Nidoking had found a weakness in Nidoqueen’s defenses, but it turned out to be for naught as the female Nido pulled him into a headlock and threw him forcefully to the ground. She’d been anticipating what he’d do, and she capitalized on it, now grinning as she circled the downed Nidoking. Nidoking wasn’t at all amused (although he definitely admired the female’s strength), and he realized very quickly that if he tried to stand, he would be left wide open for Nidoqueen to attack.

Jaeshan bit his lower lip, sensing that his Pokemon needed help, whether he liked it or not. Nidoking needed to distract the Nidoqueen long enough so he could get to his feet without being attacked, and not end up being knocked prone once again in the meantime. Jaeshan thought for a moment, watching the two Drill Pokemon stare at each other before he suddenly yelled out a command, nearly startling himself with the authority in his voice. "Nidoking! Sludge Bomb! Her face! Now!" Nidoking nodded once, holding out his clawed hand as a thick, toxic sludge began to drain from the pores and spines on his arm, flowing into his palm and forming a mucky ball of sorts. With a backhanded toss, Nidoking let the slime fly, and with good aim he managed to get most of it in the female’s face. Nidoqueen cried out in surprise, stomping her feet a few times as she trudged backwards, flailing her arms and clawing at her face in an attempt to wipe away the mess. The attack had done very little damage, seeing as how her type resistances lowered the damage to roughly a quarter of what normally would have been done, but it was the distraction Nidoking needed. He quickly got to his feet, also stepping back a bit as the female got the majority of the sludge from her face, and through somewhat clouded vision, she glared daggers at the Pokemon before her.

Meanwhile...

Mag had finished his battle and everyone else was occupied though many seemed to be rushing their fights to challenge him. So he decided to play it safe and pulled out Shining's pokeball and released the small Eevee. She wagged her tail playfully and jumped into Mag's arms. "Well you're certainly much more agreeable than when I first met up with you." Mag said as he stroked her soft brown and white fur. Shining had grown up very powerful in a short time. One of the Sailors who was battling another trainer had just ordered the finishing blow with his Machop. The two strode over to Mag.

"Hey Kid! Why don't we have a battle here to see who is stronger?" He asked as his Machop flexed his Bicep and began stretching in anticipation of the upcoming battle. Mag glanced to his partner Shining who nodded in approval of the challenge that would be ahead. Sure it was a fighting type enemy and she was normal but Shining had a few tricks in her furry mane. "Right then, you're on!" Mag said as the two trainers and their pokemon took their places in the area painted on the ships deck.

"Okay Machop, let's start off with a Low Kick!" The Sailor, Larry, ordered. His Machop quickly moved in for the attack. It stopped just short of Shining and then balancing on one arm swung it's legs around to knock into Shinings. The attack hit but because Eevee aren't known for their large weight, it wasn't very effective. "It's our turn now!" Mag replied as his team got ready for battle.

"Hit it with a Quick Attack!" Mag ordered, eager to make an attack of his own. Shining was also ready to battle and shot into Machop sending it onto the ground just as it had to her moments before. But these were just the opening moves. The fight was just getting started. "Now use your Karate Chop!" Sailor Larry commanded as he thrust his hand down in the air imitating the attack. "Wait till it's close and then use your TM move!" Mag ordered.

Machop rushed in without a care and smashed it's fist smack dab into the Shinings back. The blow stung, a lot, but Shining still had the energy to use her TM move, Attract. After the hit many tiny red hearts gushed forth enveloping the two battlers. Machop had made his move to jump back but a few of the shots hit and that was all it took to begin the mischief anyway. "Yes!" Mag smiled. "Now hit it with your Quick Attack once more Shining!"

Shining was glad to do some damage again to the Machop. Due to his current state of infatuation he did little to dodge the blow and was sent reeling. "Oh no! C'mon Machop! Get your Revenge on it!" Larry pleaded but his cry was to no avail since Machop just stood their looking dreamily at Shining. "Okay go for Tackle this time!" Mag ordered extremely grateful for the powers of attraction. He scanned the crowd but didn't see Linalee anywhere. She had been gone for quite a while he thought in the back of his mind.

Lt. Surge inadvertently took a step back as Hiro's Flamethrower crashed up against Electabuzz's Light Screen, causing flames to shoot off in all directions, but thankfully not directly onto Electabuzz. The intense heat from said flames wasn't exactly comfortable, and the Electric-type recoiled behind the protective screen until the fire died down. "All right you two, double attack! Spark and Cross Chop, now!" the large man bellowed, wiping the sweat from his forehead with the back of his hand while thrusting the other towards the Arcanine.

Her body seething with electrical energy, Manectric growled sharply as she crouched, making eye contact with her partner for a split second before she ran forward, lowering her head and charging into Hiro, letting loose all the electricity she'd stored up before hand in a mighty electrified tackle. Not much slower than his teammate, Electabuzz ran in for the attack, ignoring the residual electricity that crackled all around him as he raised his two powerful arms in an x-pattern, and slashed down with both as hard as he could.

Hiro barely had time to recover from firing his last attack when an electrified blur came hurtling towards him, and the next thing the Arcanine knew, his body was being wracked with a painful electric shock, which nearly forced the Pokemon to fall to his belly. If that wasn't enough, Electabuzz's attack came through directly after that, and Hiro yelped as the Cross Chop struck his right foreleg, resulting in a sickening cracking sound that made Kasiya cry out with her Pokemon. Opening one eye and forcing out a light growl, Hiro loosed one last Heat Wave on the attacking duo before he succumbed to the pain shooting through his leg and chest, and with a weary sigh the Arcanine slumped, his head resting against the cool floor.

Kasiya's hands were up around her mouth, and she stared fearfully at the fallen Pokemon, as did Shocker. However, the irritable Raichu wasn't shaking from fear, like her trainer, and she narrowed her eyes as a shower of sparks began to spill from her cheeks and onto the floor. The heat from Hiro's last attack had started to dissipate, but was still quite heavy in the air. The clever Raichu could make out the form of Manectric through the haze, and without waiting for an order, she dashed, full speed through the fog, not making a sound until she sprang through the other side of the remaining Heat Wave, whirling around and slamming her tail as hard as she possibly could into the unsuspecting Manectric.

((Are these posts too long to read like this, or should I be splitting them up? confused ))

((It seems fine to me.))

"Uh I don't think you'd want to throw me overboard or sell me to a life of slavery." Linalee said. "Couldn't you just let me go once you've finished your silly little plot and I'll never bother you again." She said optimistically. "Hahaha! Yeah right little girl, we aren't falling for that one again!" Carley replied. "No we'll deal with you later, but for now we're going to go mess with the stupid trainers in the lower deck. You be a good girly up here," she said tightening the ropes that bound Linalee and refitting the gag, "and we'll see what happens."

The two thieves were gone and the electronic door clicked shut behind them. Linalee was all alone in the room, though her pokeballs were up in a tray on the luggage rack near the door. "Now it's time to get outta here!" Linalee said to herself as she tried to wriggle free of the binding. Biff and Carley were already at the stairs and made their way down to the lobby. They took scrutinizing glances at all the trainers and pokemon and walked over to the battlers to see Shining and Machop going at it.

"Well that Eevee looks like it might be a good steal if we can corner that trainer later." Biff said as they watched it slam into Machop with a Tackle attack and send it reeling. "I agree... But let's test it ourselves once he is done battling this dweeb." Carley responded in whisper as they took their sideline positions.

Surge frowned, wincing at the sound, but nothing could compare to the sudden rage-filled Slam attack that he witnessed next. Having taken a direct hit from Hiro's Heat Wave, Manectric had been trying to shake it off, and had her eyes closed tightly, making her completely unaware that she was about to be struck down. Shocker's tail lashed out powerfully, striking a solid blow across her head that sent her into unconsciousness almost immediately. Electabuzz had been left burned by the ordeal, and had been continually backing up after he saw Hiro fall, until he stood directly in front of Surge, the fur on his forearms and stomach burned away, blistering skin glistening under the gym's lights. "Whoa," Surge called suddenly, holding up his hands to signal a time out. He dashed out onto the gym floor, taking a moment to check on Manectric, who was out cold, but otherwise fine. He recalled her, clipping it to his belt as he knelt beside Hiro. He checked the Pokemon for a moment or two, unable to quell the guilt that suddenly stabbed at his heart; for he hadn't expected Electabuzz's attack to cause more than temporary damage. "His leg is probably broken," the man said, regret heavy in his voice. "Kassie, I'm sorry," he said as Electabuzz slowly made his way over, a look of concern etched on his face.

Shocker heaved a heavy sigh as she managed to bring down her opponent, and one that was obviously more experience than she. Her ears drooping slightly, the mouse made her way over to Hiro, gently touching his nose with her paw. "Raichu..." she murmured sadly, bowing her head and closing her eyes.

Kasiya found it hard to move just then, it was as though she'd been rooted to the floor. Finally, she found the strength to move again, and she made her way over to Hiro, kneeling on the opposite side her father was and resting her hand on the side of the Pokemon's head. "It's okay, Dad, these things sometimes happen in battle," she told him reassuringly, even though she did feel slightly angry with him for having both Pokemon attack Hiro so viciously. She looked up at Electabuzz, and the expression on his face almost made her heart break. "We should call it quits for now," she said, which sparked an impatient growl from Shocker. Obviously, the Raichu wanted to continue the fight, if anything to avenge her friend. She could remember a time where she lay curled up beside Kasiya as they traveled by train, a long time ago when her trainer was still new to the world of Pokemon training. She'd been on one side of the girl, and Hiro on the other, while Ariel, still an Eevee at the time, had been curled up in her lap. Shocker herself was still a Pikachu, and Hiro a Growlithe. The memory brought a tear to her eye, and once again Shocker let out a growl, and stomped her foot. "But what about Hiro?" Kasiya asked the mouse, almost in a scolding tone. "He needs to get to the Pokemon Center."

M.A. began gnawing at her lip, a nervous habit. This was so intense. . . At the moment, neither bug seemed to have the total upper hand. Where the heck did this Scyther come from, anyways? Who would leave such a rampant Pokemon on the loose?

She hadn't given much attention to Daemyn and Little Guy's little scrimmage, although the pup's Roar had her jerk around for a moment. At the moment, however, Daemyn had absolutely no idea where his opponent was; the Natu seemed to have disappeared in thin air. Frantically looking about, he began to spin in circles anxiously, casting his gaze anywhere and everwhere -- the ceiling, the air, the ground, the trees semi-separating their battle and the two bugs' battle. Unconsciously, he might have trampled Little Guy from beneath his paws as he spun about, but whatever the case was, eventually he felt some kind of feather-y mass beneath his paws. The realization dawned on him, having his belly suddenly feel rather vulnerable; immediately, he tried to scramble away.

Oddish realized Train was human and dove back into the grass fearfully. "Huh?" Train said, confused. As she watched, she noticed a scar on the Oddish.

The Oddish wasn't very hard to keep track of. It was the only grass that was moving away, and not just swaying in one spot. Train crept after it. An Oddish would be awsome to have! Plus, she needed another pokemon, especially one that could help her beat Brock!

Train froze when the Oddish stopped. Carefully, she got Ratata's pokeball and released the little mouse-pokemon. Unfortunatly, the red beam of light wasn't very un-noticable, and the Oddish bolted away. "Ah! No! Ratata, Quick Attack on that Oddish!" Train said quickly, pointing so Ratata could locate the Oddish. Ratata blurred for a moment, moving away quickly, then crashed into the Oddish, both pokemon tumbling on the ground for a moment.

Train felt a bit bad, though. She knew the Oddish had to have been abannonded, or it had run away. What else could explain the fact that it was where Oddish weren't commen and that it had a scar?

"Tret!" The Sentret screamed as Cyndaquil knocked into it. The little brown pokemon hopped to it's feet as Cyndaquil ran back to it's trainer. Then Sentret charged in for another Scratch attack.

"Cyndaquil, try to dodge it!" Kurine said. Cyndaquil dove out of the way, but Sentret still scraped it a little bit. Not much damage was done, thankfully. "Alright, Cyndaquil! Tackle it again!" Kurine told the little fire pokemon. Cyndaquil ran at Sentret again, it's little feet hitting the ground hard. The greenish fire pokemon managed the slam into the Sentret again.

Both pokemon were growing weak, and Kurine knew she couldn't let Cyndaquil faint.

Little Guy might've smiled when he saw Daemyn's confusion, if he hadn't've been almost stepped on in the process. Lucky for him, the Houndour seemed to respond to Little Guy's presence by quickly pulling his foot away, maybe so he wouldn't do any serious damage, though it was more likely he was simply trying to get away. Though Little Guy was thankful for not being stomped, he couldn't let Daemyn off that easy. His previous Ember attack hurt him quite a bit afterall. Gathering up all of his strength into his legs, Little Guy rocketed into the Houndour's gut, his beak leading the way.

Meanwhile, Ky looked at Sting in worry. Sting was breathing heavily now and was arching his back to get rid of the pain from his last hit. Slowly, he made his way back up into the air, glaring as he approached his opponent, who returned the glare with an air of dominance. This bug was really starting to piss Sting off, and the Scyther was enjoying it. Then, in another instant, the Scyther was gone. He had used Agility again.

Ky's jaw dropped. What circled Sting now was no longer a green circle, but a green sphere made up of nothing but the Scyther's blur. It looked like the picture of an atom, with Sting being the nucleus, and the Scyther being an electron. Though not the speed of light, Ky could hardly believe such speed was attainable. How could Sting possibly hit that? "No, no... I can't think that way," Ky thought. "This has to be the battle he's always dreamed of; I can't lose faith in him now." Ky clenched his fists. "Sting, focus! When you're ready, let loose with a Fury Attack!" Ky called. Sting nodded.

If Sting had fists, he'd have clenched them too. This bug was way too confident. It could've attacked him five times by now at its speed. But instead, it kept circling, kept showing off. With one deep breath, Sting focused no longer with his eyes. They were useless now. Instead, he felt out with his antennae, catching the Scyther's path by how the air moved. It was cyclic. The Scyther was flying in a pattern. "You fool..." Sting thought.

Sting lashed out with a swing as if he was a batter who had found the perfect pitch. With an incredibly quick jab, he landed the hit to the Scyther's shoulder, sending the bug flying out of his path. Spinning in the air, the Scyther tried to stop himself, only to be met with another round of stabs. Sting dived at him, pummeling him in the shoulder twice more to keep him spinning uncontrollably. Then with the last hit, he dug his left forearm deep into the Scyther's back, back into the hole he left before, and with a satisfying crunch they both hit a nearby tree, sending bark and dust flying into the air. With a Beedrill's spike buried almost lethally into his back, the Scyther screamed, so loud this time Ky had to cover his ears it was so high-pitched. When it had died down though, Sting remained hovering, pinning his opponent to the tree, with a Scyther at his mercy. "Checkmate," he buzzed.

Cyka walked along the path to Saffron City. He somewhat wanter to take the Cycling Road all the way down to Fuchsia, but he had no bike and was probably better off heading in the opposite direction. He decided that he would head for Lavender town first to meet some ghost pokemon. Ever since he was young they had always fascinated him, but his parents didn't own any nor did the daycare man have any in his care whenever he came over. He wanted to see one with his own eyes and play with it, and according to everyone he had asked the pokemon tower in Lavender was the best place to run into them. Shisa trotted along side him paying more attention to him that the road ahead really. She always traveled next to Cyka, even when he put her in her pokeball she would jump out. It wasn't because she was disobedient, but because she was extremely protective of Cyka and wouldn't let him out of her sight if she could help it. It probably started back when Cyka was only eleven, the two were playing near the river that ran by Cerulean behind the town. Cyka hadn't been paying attention and accidentally fell in, nearly drowning. It was a tad embarrassing that at age eleven Cyka could not swim yet, but the important thing was that he was in trouble and ready to kick the bucket. Shisa jumped in without a second though to save him, fighting the current of the river to reach him and pull him ashore. The little pup managed to do it, but was left very weak and very tired from the whole ordeal. Or maybe it was the time Cyka tried to chase a Meowth that was hanging around the house even after it climbed onto the roof. Cyka followed it and the annoyed Meowth gave him a good clawing. The startled Cyka stumbled back and fell from the roof, only to have Shisa break his fall and nearly break herself by doing it. Or maybe it was that time when... Whatever the occasion, she didn't trust Cyka alone and had the idea burned into her mind that without her watching him he was sure to get himself killed or at least injured in a severe accident. So she walked beside him, more concerned with what was going on in his head than what was going on in front of her own two feet. Cyka, oblivious to pretty much everything didn't really notice her behavior and saw it as a normal thing, chances were he didn't even know that he would be six feet under if not for her. She was his common sense, she was his guardian angel. But despite all the grief he gave her, it almost seemed as though she enjoyed being his savior, whether he knew it or not.

M.A. whooped in a very un-ladylike manner (feh, who wanted prim and proper anyhow?) at Sting's amazing counter. Man, what a turn of tides! He sure showed that cocky Scyther. . . Even though the battle was pretty much over (she assumed), she could still feel her heart racing -- a testament to the tension, the suspense of the battle. It hadn't been easy, but Sting most definately pulled through. She wouldn't doubt him, not even a tiny bit, for a long time to come.

A familiar whine caught her attention, and she spun on her heels to discover that Daemyn and Little Guy were having some kind of scrimmage. She hadn't exactly been too aware of anything other than the two bugs' brawl, but she did remember the pup disappearing. . . Maybe he had gotten restless. Well, it didn't look like they wanted to be interrupted just yet.

That whine was actually the Houndour's breath leaving him; indeed, Little Guy had knocked the fella's air clear out. The impact had also caused Daemyn to fliip over, and he crashed on his side less-than-gracefully. Oh man, that was a critical hit, and he was seeing stars.

But that sent him nearly feral. Without waiting for himself to recover, he leapt to his paws once more, lunging at the bird with angry, gnashing jaws. He didn't really regard attack types or what not -- he was just p.o.'d big time.

Shining easily slammed into Machop with another Tackle attack. But this time it seemed to come to it's senses and wrapped her into a quick Seismic Toss. Machop jumped up into the air, quite high for a non-flying pokemon, and then launched Shining into the ground. She landed harshly but managed to roll on to her side and get right back up before it could slam another Karate Chop into her. "Great Machop beat that skanky pokemon!" Sailor Larry encouraged. But Machop had gone back to it's infatuated state.

"Well let's wrap this one up, use Quick Attack until it is finished." Mag ordered. Shining was ready to go and hastily moved into the attack. She came from the front but swerved at the last moment and then shot at the Machop from his right. As soon as he was up again she launched into another Quick Attack and nailed the poor fighter a final time right in the center of the back. It fell over in a heap (after flying a few feet across the floor) and was quickly returned. "Great job Kid. You really beat us this time. But I'll be looking for a rematch!" the Sailor said good-naturedly and went off to the healing machine.

Mag also found healing a good idea since Shining was quite beaten up by now. He recalled her and put up all his pokeballs for the trip, it couldn't hurt to prepare everyone. And turned to go back to the arena only to find two blue haired, black uniformed people standing directly behind him. "Uh hello... Do I know you?" Mag asked as they just stood there at first with somewhat menacing looks on their faces. "Oh no, I don't think you do, but you really will want to." Carley said cockily. "Yeah kid. How about we do a double battle here? We saw your match and we'd be delighted to put you in your place." Biff threatened.
