*has been rewatching Reboot* I forgot how engaging that show gets by the second season!

Reboot was great once . . . but I don't know how well it stands up to the test of time.

Oh, I'll fully admit that the humor is cheesy and the graphics in the first 2 seasons are stiff and jagged. Maybe it's just my nostalgia that enjoys it so much, but I think I can objectively say that the plot is quite well-written once it actually gets to the point of having a story that spans more than a single episode.

Rolling plot as opposed to the problem of the day is what separates decent shows from daily fodder. 3nodding

I know, I love it when those making kids shows occasionally realize this point and churn out something amazing. That's why I also enjoyed the cartoon, Avatar: the Last Airbender.

Avatar is truly one of the best shows ever. I was talking with friends yesterday, and pointed out that Nickolodeon got a hold of the rights to make a new Voltron series. They groaned, but when I pointed out they made Avatar . . . grudging hope appeared.
Kind of like Gargoyles with Disney. Even pits of hell can make awesome from time to time.

I didn't realize the Avatar guys were remaking Voltron! I remember my older brother talking about how much he loved Gargoyles. I never got to see it, but it seemed like a pretty neat show. Disney has had a few diamonds in the rough (excuse the Disney reference) throughout the years. Those hidden gems are just becoming more and more infrequent. We all know that this is the reason why.

Gargoyles, simply put, is one of the best shows ever. It has a decent hook, good story progression, character development, and some decent voices. Now, the latter section, "The Goliath Chronicles" was made by a different set, and dramatically sucked. But the first seasons were highly worth it.
Love the video.

I'll keep that in mind if I ever get the chance to watch it.
Just began rewatching Rave Master. Choosing to watch the subbed version this time was the right choice. I couldn't even finish watching the English dub back when it was airing on TV, because of that stupid blue thing (mostly its voice) that hung around.

I didn't watch the show, but did like the idea of the sword. From what I saw, it was a basic blade that when equipped with specific gems (which were quests and had to be earned), the blade would transform to a new shape.
Kind of like Materia for blade augmentation. A nice idea. 3nodding

Yeah, that's the gist of it. There are a handful of times when he uses multiple "raves" on his sword at once. The resulting abilities are pretty cool. My favorite is combining the rave that causes explosions upon hit with the rave that allows for super speed slashes. cool

Ahhh, so he used the "godmod" rave and the "assrape" addition. stare
good tactic.

Bear in mind that the raves are balanced. The explosion from his sword hurts him too, and his explosion sword lacks a cutting edge. Also, the fast-cutting rave mkes each hit less harmful as he attacks more quickly.
Of course, being the main character of the show (and a shonen anime at that), godmodding will eventually ensue.

feh, I still like the idea for a RP . . . but I never got my personal ideas off the ground- my Ronin version never really took off, and my Shifters RP that I spent a year working on died on delivery. crying

Oh, so you did finish Shifters? It's a shame it didn't survive.
