Jamie fought the urge to roll his eyes. There was something about the way Gen sighed that made him almost sure she was treating him like a little boy. So what, she was a few years older than he was, big deal. Like that really made a difference?

He bit the tip of his tongue to keep himself from saying anything, before moving across the plane and sitting next to Teagen. He took a deep breath, hoping that everybody else wasn't listening to him, and started talking in a low voice.

"Look, Teagen. I'm really sorry, I didn't mean it. It's just that. . . when I was growing up, I had to pick how to deal with life. I could either laugh and cry inside, or cry on the inside and the outside. And I don't cry. I've been hated by alot of people, but I just don't let them show it, because I laughed it off. And when I'm feeling strained, I joke. I have to, or else I'll break down."

"I'm now I'm going to regret saying that, but I have to do something other than act weak, ok? And I'm sure it doesn't make a difference, but. . ." He trailed off, and looked uncomfortable. "I'm sorry." He said quietly, and moved back to his seat.

The ride was almost a quiet one for most of them. The decent was made back at the Institute. And Porter spoke to the Green Team almost as immediately as they landed, "Green Team, try to get some rest this evening. We'll know soon if you're going to be moving out with the rest of the X-Men."

Penny rounded up Regina, Morgan, and Jamie, "I'll give you guys the option: get some rest for battle or help us search the databases on these guys to try to find who they are."

She already knew what she was doing. Leaving her possessions in the hanger, she went down to the War Room and picked up a terminal. McCoy was already searching for informamtion while Xavier was trying to use Cerebro again. He didn't say anything to her when she picked up a description to start searching on.

"How accurate was she?" Penny asked when entering information into the Cerebro files database.

"As accurate as Kitty can be," McCoy nodded.

"Right," Penny answered and put in: female, red hair, caucasian, teleporter. She sighed as the search started, "This is going to take awhile."

McCoy confirmed that his search was taking equally as long and no good hits were coming of it. Both of them searching was taking a considerable turn on the database and slowing them down. She thought about Jacen and hoped that dinner wasn't the last time they'd see each other, she hadn't been pleasant and didn't want that last memory. WIth the best of her ability, it wouldn't be.

"Wait, here we go," Penny caught one that had her attention, "Send this image to Kitty and ask her if it was Amelia Voght. This is the only hit that draws attention... the Acolytes. Magneto."

They had a confirmation within the hour from Kitty and it gave them a starting point. Xavier had to only gain the trust of one of his contacts to find out their location as Cerebro wasn't giving him much to go on.

The jet streaked through the sky. For anyone other than Pietro, this was easily the fastest experience of their life. No one could be sure what kind of technology existed within this plane, but it was no doubt far more advanced than anything a normal human would be flying in. Some of them probably even wondered if it was truly a plane at all... the engines were absolutely silent, and there wasn't the slight bit of turbulence, though anyone looking outside could see that they were flying at a rate that was fast even for a jet. Even Pietro wasn't entirely sure how this thing ran... he suspected that Magneto might actually be propelling the aircraft with his powers alone, but even his dad wasn't powerful enough to manipulate metal from halfway across the world... right?

An hour passed by, and then another. And it was at about this time that some of the Brotherhood began to realize that things weren't quite adding up. Lance was the first to speak.

"Um... shouldn't we have landed by now?" asked Avalanche, a small degree of nervousness ringing through his voice. "I mean, it only took us a little over an hour to get to the beach from Bayville on the regular jet... I... um... well yeah, why's this taking so long?"

Sabretooth sat comfortably on one of the many couches in the jet. Since they'd left the airport, his jacket had been removed, and his dress suit unbuttoned. However, in his time with Magneto, Victor Creed had actually cleaned up a bit. His hair was not cleanly cut, and all but a goatee was shaved off. His dress, while casual, was still far more elegant than the ragged shreds of clothing he used to wear. He just shot a toothy grin at Lance... teeth that were razor sharp, and more than accustomed to tearing through flesh, cooked or not.

"Who said we were going to Bayville?" he asked. "Yer vacation has simply shifted to somethin' a bit more beneficial..."

Pietro smiled, and turned a knowing look to John, the only other member on the team to have ever been to where they were going. They weren't going back to the broken down mansion of the Brotherhood. They were headed for Magneto's compound, and for most of them this would be their first look at the new world that Erik Lensherr planned to build.

No Master, I assure you that the X-Men are entirely unaware of my loyalties, you have nothing to fear.

Fear is not an issue, young brother mutant. In the future, I hope to abolish that particular emotion completely, in fact. It is nothing but an obstacle to progress... much like Charles. He fears the power he has, while I embrace it. That is the difference between us... and if I recall correctly, that is the difference that brought you to me.

Absolutely Master. I am making the preparations you asked. The X-Men will not suspect a thing. These devices in my mind and the minds of your other followers transmits our thoughts over a secure electromagnetic signal, while any telepath that peeks in will only see childhood memories of our favorite old-school hip-hop tracks and cartoons. They'll just smile and think we're immature.

Brilliant as always, young brother. Just remember the modifications you make must be both effective but quite unlethal.

But... Master, aren't these the same people who've repeatedly impeded the path to mutant supremacy? The race-traitors who've spat in the eye of their savior?

Magneto's thoughts of laughter echoed softly through the young man's head.

Young brother, the X-Men aren't our enemy. Our actions seek to benefit every member of our glorious species... and as misguided as these poor fools may be, I am confident they will still see the light. Perhaps even Charles will come around... however, at the moment his presence can only hurt our cause.

Which is why...

Exactly. That is why you are there, my young brother.

... Master, it appears as though the students have returned... I guess it's my turn to go back and play that part as well, huh?

Go with the pride of your species, young brother. Your brothers and sisters have just arrived at my doorstep as well. Never faulter, our plans will come to fruition soon enough...

With that, Magneto broke his mental link with his mole inside of Xavier's, and approached the hangar of his compound. Pietro was correct, he wasn't usually powerful enough to use his powers across the globe. However, such limits did not apply here. The base rested exactly on Magnetic North, amplifying Magneto's powers by a hundredfold. With his new powers at his disposal, operating the jet across the sky was little more than an afterthought, as were most of the functions of his base, which was slowly growing into the size of a modern city. The jet landed in the center of the facility, at a building taller than any man-made structure ever made, and appeared straight out of science fiction. It made his original Asteroid M look primitive by comparison.

He approached the plane with almost fatherly warmth, not only toward his son, but to all the precious cargo within. They were his next generation of disciples, and worth their weight in gold.

"Welcome, Brotherhood," he said to the youth, most of them more than a little intimidated at his presence. "Behold... the future of the world begins here."

Sonya walked around the institute looking for a room of her own. She walked into a vacant one and began to unpack her things. She pulled some pictures. One was of her and her mother, another was them and Sasha and her mother, and the last one, which looked at the longest, was a picture of her and Sasha, playing happily together. "I know we're in some kind of war, and that Sasha is on the brotherhood, but I pray that we won't be put against one another," she hoped. She laid on her bed when she began to hear some. It sounded like a lot of static. And a few words got through. She looked around to see if a tv or radio was left on but there wasn't. She closed her eyes and tried to listen but there was much static. Master........loyatlies......unaware........devices......join...was all she could make out. Then a bit of evil laughter. She shook her head. "I need fresh air," she said and walked out of her room. She explored the area until she came to a room. She walked inside without seeing the words DANGER ROOM. It was dark but then a computer voice came on. Artificial simulation on Soon Sonya found her self in a forest. She heard hug quakes coming towards her. A tree was blasted away and there was a huge robot standing infront of her. She screamed.

Sasha got out and looked around at this new place. She recognized Magneto but was still wondering what the old geezer was babling about.

Danielle went up to her room, and unpacked her belongings. She didn't really have a good time on the trip at all, because of that whole Marvin thing. Danielle didn't like being at the institute either, she wanted to go back home. That way she would be with her grandpa. She sighed and crawled in her bed so she could rest a while, like Porter said.

Markus was dozing quietly in a seat listening to the conversations around him. After watching the scenery zip by and giving himself a headache trying to puzzle out the means of such rapid and also quiet flight. Beneficial, huh. Sounds like an adventure.

Corky was silent during the ride and landing, for once. The plane was different. Creepy. Courtney had flown on private jets before, but what she and the rest of the Brotherhood were on was different. It was smoother and quieter, and they were obviously going very, very fast. It had clicked to Courtney that their speed should have taken them to Bayville faster, but the trip seemed longer. They were going someplace else entirely.

She wondered if she was getting in over her head by joining the Brotherhood. But that -like everything else she had had to deal with since her mutation- was confusing and pointless to think about. Whats done was done, and it wasn't like she could change anything. Although she felt she may have been getting in over her head, Courtney also knew there was nothing else she could have done. Her parents expected her to 'n** this problem in the bud' (as her father put it); to somehow control her powers enough to not have to use them. But he really didn't know. Corky knew that even though she could easily control her power, it didn't take the gene away from her. They didn't know. No one really could know how much being a mutant effected her. All they saw a poor, pretty little rich girl who thought mutation took a backseat to parties. Not that Courtney could blame them. She didn't exactly act any differently.

"Welcome, Brotherhood," he said to the youth, most of them more than a little intimidated at his presence. "Behold... the future of the world begins here."

"Nice crib." She said very quietly, not expecting anyone to hear or respond. Courtney said it just for reassurence to herself that things may not be as bad or as strange as they seemed.

Jacen was nearly asleep, or dead, by anyone else's estimation. His breathing was shallow and his eyes were severely glazed over. He was literally running on empty. While he sat there, suspended against the wall, he heard a couple of voices from outside his door.

"Is he in there still?"

"Of course, no one has entered or left the room. Not that anyone knows where we are."

"True. Still though, it does pay to stay alert."

"Here. Look for yourself."

Jacen's cell was dark. Really dark. The light that crept through the crack between the frame and door were like sunlight burning his retinas. "Ahh.....," said the young mutant as he stepped inside to look at his fallen comrade. "He doesn't seem to be himself, Senyaka," the youngster said.

"Of course he doesn't. He's about to die. Do you think that anyone would be themselves if they knew they were to die tomorrow?," Senyaka said with a snarl in his voice. He had alot of disdain for Scion initially when he joined the Acolytes. His defection turned the disdain into pure hatred.

"I...guess not....," Neophyte said, trailing off. There was a hint of uncertainty in his voice. "But is killling him really the will of Magneto?"

"All who oppose will eventually have to fall before Lord Magneto as it is," Senyaka said, his smile hidden by the cloth wrappings around his face and head, "Why not hasten the process?"

Jacen coughed a bit, which caused the shackles and chains to shake violently. "I see the traitor is awake now," commented Senyaka as he glared hard at Scion. "Whatever to do with you, Scion...."

"You can first start by kissing my a**," Jacen said as he spat on Senyaka's boot. The overzealous Acolyte responded by punching Jacen hard in his mouth. Jacen smiled a bit. "What's the matter? Did I piss you off?"

"Silence, worm!," Senyaka shouted as he unraveled his whip and, with a snap, had it wrapped around Jacen's torso, sending a wave of pain crashing into his body. "You'll wish you were dead already."

Through clenched teeth, Jacen muttered, "Better....to die a free man....than to live like a dog, cowed and heeled by his master..." That obviously sparked something in Senyaka. As soon as those words flew from Scion's mouth, he felt the skin on his chest and back start to burn. Not only that, he could smell burning flesh. Unable to contain it any longer, Jacen let loose a howl of agony that could pierce even the most untouchable of souls.

"And that was just the beginning, traitor," Senyaka spat as he let Jacen loose. There was a huge raw burn mark on his chest, plus blood dripping from his split lip. "Come, Neophyte. There are still a few preparations before the execution, and besides. Our guard duty is over." Neophyte looked back one time at Scion, noticing him breathing even slower than usual, then shook his head. The only thing that Jacen noticed was the light wasn't cast on him anymore, and the pain....and everything that came along with it, was just beginning.

The waiting game, that was the hardest part. They knew the whos but not the whys and not the wheres. Xavier sent anybody from the Alpha squad away from the War Room. He knew that there was nothing left for them to do and if they needed to go into action, rest had to be acheived.

Penny lay on her bed and stared at the ceiling. She doubted rest would be coming at any time seeing the events of the past week. Regina lay in almost the same funk across the room. Small talk was about all she had right now to distract herself. Jacen... what are you going through right now... I wish I could tell you we were looking for you. I wish you could tell me where you are. Wishes. They were nothing but regrets and dissatisfaction with the world. She made her mind more concrete. We will find you. We will save you.

"How are things with you and Porter? We've barely had a moment of free time to talk," Penny said kicking her shoes off onto the floor.

Regina rolled over onto her side and propped her head up with her hand, "I thought you'd never ask!" She was just about blushing like a school girl.

Penny laughed and sat up. "Well do tell, do tell..." she giggled, watching her friend in her puppy dog state.

Regina sat up too and proceeded to explain her first kiss.

ooc:.... sorry. i'm dead tired. will post more tomorrow hopefully... and mabye a joint post if jedi has the time.

Sonya quickly jumped out of the way as one of the sentinals held up it's hand and blasted. She ran through the trees and bushes, ripping most of her clothes and giving her cuts. What in the world happened?, she thought, One minute I was safe inside the institute, and now I'm running from these huge robots. She hide behind a tree to catch her breathe. Somebody please help!

ooc: i don't think sonya would be alone in an artificial simulation unless you made it that way. if she's part of regina and penny's team, one of them would have been with her to help her learn... i think. another mod can correct me if i'm wrong.

OOC: Danger Room safties off?

IC:

"Now that is incredibly adorable," Penny was happy for Regina. It was a particularly big deal to her friend so she was happy. Everybody needs a little slice of Americana happiness once in awhile, "I didn't think Mr. Jonothan Porter had it in him to be saccarine sweet."

--------

"What now..." Porter grumbled walking down the sub-level corridor seeing that the Danger Room doors were locked. All the senior X-Men were accounted for and the students were supposed to be in their rooms at this hour.

He entered the control room and took account of what was going on. Sonya, not good. She wasn't prepared for the Danger Room and he wasnt' entirely sure how she had it activated.

"Computer, shut down Danger Room sequence... authorization Fear Tango Bravo Alpha."
