Aw Ukyo that just sounds dreadful...is there no one who could fill in for you? Surely none of the other staff are working as long as you have been.

That's how weekends work. Only two people work on the weekends which means one person is on call Saturday and one on Sunday. So if call is hellish like what mine was, I'm still expected to show up at 8am since there's no one to replace me on the weekend.
