Ms Dinah Lance That bunny seems to be sort of an attention whore.. cute though. Well, it is bright green.
Clearly nature evolved it to be the center of attention. *Calls bunny*

To be honest, after he lifted the bounty on Powell, I haven't heard boo about what Lex might be planning. I don't think anyone who pledged their resources to the hit is too pleased, though. There are a lot of people who would jump at the chance that would present itself if there seemed to be a power vacuum on the villain side of the Nexus.
::scratches Taylor behind the ears::
Not that that sort of thing concerns me at all. My main concerns are the Creed situation and the atrociously shallow dating pool in the Nexus.

I'm worried about a villain stepping up to take Luthor's place and unite the others against Powell.

I don't think so.
I mean. Let's think about the psychology of the villain for a bit, shall we?
::pulls out his flute and starts polishing it::
Luthor had a grand plan a year ago that he managed to pull off. He conquered the Nexus. And then Powell, who, let's face it, is not what you'd consider an A-Lister, tears it all down in the matter of minutes.
That's like the lowliest member of the wolf pack taking a piss on the alpha wolf. It's an affront that can not stand, because it means Luthor showed weakness.
::blows into the flute a couple times, and then adjusts one of the keys::
That's what this bounty was all about. Asserting dominance. Getting the pack back in line. So to speak. And for all intents and purposes, it doesn't seem to have worked. Luthor's pack is scattered again.
Which means someone else can challenge for the position of alpha male.
The thing is...if anyone else sees fit to organize a Local Hoods Union Chapter, what reason do they have to dedicate their resources to fixing Luthor's failure?

That's a good point.. Although it would not surprise me if one of the villains assumed control of the others just for the power...

The hit on Powell was a farce, at best. The -3 are the only people to successfully pull off killing someone in the Nexus, and 2 of them are bloodthirsty maniacs. And they're outsourcing their revenge plot to mercs and thugs? Gimme a god damn break. It's all part of something bigger.
As for the Creed situation, that falls under the general banner of "The Undead Trio," now don't it? Luthor's a schemer, and you'd better bet that whatever Vic's up to, it's gonna tie in nicely with those schemes.

Creed is a puppet, Fury. You'll find that out about Black Lanterns after you've had one play with your emotions a bit. Their schemes have only the veneer of having to do with anything other than grabbing hearts and adding to their ranks.

I done my homework. I know the M.O. of a Black Lantern. Thing is, Creed seems to be a hell of a lot more in control of himself than someone in his position should be. b*****d's having drinks, holdin' conversation and brokering god damn deals. I ain't doubting that he's a puppet. Story of his god damn life, ain't it? I'm just wondering who's pulling the strings.
*takes a drag on his cigar*
But that just brings me back to my original point, don't it? He's been stalking around the nexus with blood soaked mitts ever since he got back. What the hell's stopping him from tearing out Powell's heart himself?

yes, this is definitely a classic "Monday" sort of day. Creepy Black Lantern guy stalking around the place and strange, green bunnies. Later, I get to meet with Queen Industries' finance guy and a real estate agent. Yep. Definitely a Monday.

Rhetorical question, slim. Just enforcing my point that the Powell situation wasn't what it's face value suggested.
*takes a last, long drag, and throws what's left of his cigar in a nearby ashtray*
Ain't even seen Bullseye since his return. Damn shame, too. Practicing with live targets is always a helluva lot more convenient when they literally put a target on their forehead.

Well.
Let's just say that, for a "616" villain, your friend Creed is remarkably up-to-date on certain goings-on in MY universe.
::notices that he's lost his bunny to Patrick::
Jilted for another man. Isn't that always the way?
::stands up and gives everyone a flamboyant bow::
I suppose I've gossiped enough for one morning. I was hoping to meet that charming Loki again, but perhaps he'll poof in another day. Take care of my bunny, copper, or next time I see you I'll make you dance the macarena every time you hear the word 'carrots.'
