MISSION- Birch's First Break-in Any Team Aqua member is asked to go to Prof. Birch's lab in Littleroot and steal one of his three pokemon (Treeko, Torchic, Mudkip). You must sneak in at night. But don't get caught by Prof. Birch or his assistant. At some point you must battle the pokemon you stole/are stealing, if you want to catch it.
Pokemon: Treecko Torchic Mudkip
Funds upon completion: 300
~~
I sat cross-legged on the couch of Steven’s house in Mossdeep, engrossed in a copy of Twilight that I was reading and fantasizing about hot vampires, when all of the sudden there was an urgent beeping coming out of my jean pockets. Startled, I immediately forgot all about Bella and her troubles and jumped up from the couch with a yelp. Kirara looked at me curiously, while Rave let out a jolt of electricity in surprise, electrocuting poor Vamp.
Within a few minutes or ten, I realized what the sound was—the beeping of my TADS. Pulling it out of my pocket, I saw the words “PM—Birch’s Worst Enemy.” Ooh, an anonymous name. This oughta be good. I opened up the Tads, examining the message.
“Dear esteemed Aqua Member,
I have hated the man you all call ‘Professor Birch’ for so long, I can’t even remember why. People worship him, and they call me insane for hating him. I want to see him fall. To see him live what I once lived when—MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Um, sorry for that. This was getting way too villainy for me to resist.
Anyways, I was thinking, and what if one of Birch’s three most prized possessions were stolen from him? Yes, that’s right. The three starters of Hoenn—Treecko, Torchic, and Mudkip. Now you, Aqua member, were the only one I could turn to. Take one of Birch’s starters—without him catching you of course—and deliver them to me. You will be rewarded handsomely.
Thank you, Birch’s Worst Enemy”
“…What a whackjob,” were my first words as I pondered the request. Still… this could be fun. I didn’t have anything against Professor Birch, but I had no reason to like him either. “Hm… but whackjobs are the ones that pay the most! C’mon guys, let’s get over to Littleroot!”
~~
As night fell, two things happened. The first was that I was reminded of Bella’s plight and I suddenly wanted to get this over with quickly so I could get back to Twilight. However, the second was a lot worse even than missing out on more vampire-fantasies—The lights in Professor Birch’s lab turned on!
“Darn!” I hissed, “He was supposed to be asleep by now! This is going to be a lot harder…”
Improvising, I quickly sent Vamp out of his pokeball. A Gible, I figured, would be very rare on Hoenn, and no doubt Professor Birch would be distracted by its rareness. “All right,” I began, “I just need you to wander around and look cool. And avoid capture at all costs. Try to cause as much commotion as possible. Can you do that?”
The Gible frowned for a moment before nodding and hurrying into the lab, which conveniently had its front door open. Almost immediately there was a loud call from inside and I distinctly heard an aged voice cry, “Look! There it is!”
Assuming Vamp was doing his job well, I closed my eyes for a moment of attempted-meditation, gripping Rave’s Pokeball firmly in my hands, then stepped into the doorway with a cry of “RAVE!! FLASH!!”
In the moment before everything became a dazzling display of light, I saw that the room contained, not including Vamp, Professor Birch and two of his assistants. I couldn’t help but chuckle as one of the assistants let out a rather girly cry. Though I was completely making up the plan as I went along, it didn’t take long for me to figure out that what I needed now was some kind of debilitating effect to get the three lab workers until I was already gone. Sleep, maybe, or freeze, confuse… Confuse! “Kirara! Swagger!” I snarled, releasing her from her Pokeball so that now all three of my Pokemon were released. Just as the blinding light from Rave’s flash began to diminish, Kirara growled and let loose the attack…
“…Huh?” That one word was all I needed to know to be reassured that my quick plan had worked. One assistant had fallen flat on his face, one was looking around in bewilderment, and Professor Birch was scratching is head and gazing calmly around the lab.
“Where am I? And, um… who am I?” wondered the professor out loud, and seeing an opening I rushed over and replied, “You’re a salesman, dude. Your name’s… um…” I snapped my fingers as I came up with an idea. “Your name’s Steven Stone! And, this is your store. Now you have to show me three Pokemon—Mudkip, Treecko, and Torchic—so I can get one of them… you know, for free and all. ‘Cause… it’s blowout day! Everything’s free!”
He pondered for a moment, then gave me a look and replied, “I don’t believe you. This isn’t my store and it’s not blowout day!”
I gulped, but then he continued, “I could never afford this place! It must be your store, and you just need the three Pokemon so you can inspect them.”
“Err… right. So, where are they?”
“In the back…” replied Professor Birch, or should I say Steven Stone, “Though I’m not sure how I know that… I don’t remember them… hm….”
“It’s subconscious, dude,” I reassured him, then gestured for my own three Pokemon to follow me as I ventured farther into the lab…
~~
Well, just a little farther, actually. Turns out the place only has one room. Go figure. Anyways, I could easily recognize three cages sitting on the table, each containing a Pokemon. “All right, one of you, you’re coming with me!” I announced joyfully. Hey, this was easier than I thought it would be! Now…”
As I reached for the rightmost cage, the one containing the Treecko, I saw it glaring dangerously at my hand. But, hey it was in a cage! Was I supposed to suspect it would attack me? But, never ceasing to go against me, the Treecko opened his jaws wide and bit down hard on my thumb, causing me to recoil with a cry and the cage to fall on the floor.
“Stupid little liz—ahh!” I exclaimed, realizing too late that the Treecko’s cage door had fallen open and the Pokemon was now rushing for the door. “V-Vamp! Go get him!”
The Gible rushed forwards with amazing speed, leaping to attack the Treecko with slash. “Tree--!” cried the green Pokemon, turning around to retaliate with absorb. With only a raise of its arm, small orbs of Vamp’s life floated away to join with its own.
Vamp flinched, but remained where he was and growled dangerously at the Treecko. The lizard Pokemon gazed back coolly, its two tails twitching. Then, in one fluid movement, the Treecko rushed forwards and raised its hand. Leaves materialized out of nowhere to crash into Vamp, who swayed this time but still looked fairly healthy. The Gible jumped forward just as the Treecko began to retreat, grabbing one of its tails and dragging his claws down his back in another vicious attack of slash.
Hissing, the Treecko turned back and raised a paw, its claws glinting. Somehow, though I knew the attack couldn't be THAT bad, the look in the Pokemon's eyes seemed to show an overwhelming sense of urgency and stress, and before I knew it the Pokeball I had been holding in my hands for tossing at just the right time was flying away, towards the lizard Pokemon.
Oh no. It wasn’t ready for capture. The ball twitched once…
Well, at least this try wasn’t totally pathetic. The ball moved again…
Wait, could this actually work?! One last time…
And the Treecko was mine! My accidental catch had worked after all. Feeling extremely pleased with myself, I strutted over to pick up the ball before walking back to retrieve my three pokemon.
~~
“Wait, let me get this straight… You caught my Treecko?!”
I sighed, speaking into my TADS as I replied to my mystery employer, “Well, what was I supposed to do?! It was escaping!”
“I don’t know, how about just taking a different one?!”
“Oh, hey, I didn’t think of that. It might have worked.”
The voice became utterly outraged at the other end of the line. “WHAT?! YOU IDIOT OF AN AQUA MEMBER!! AND TO THINK, I ALREADY SENT THE REWARD IN THE MAIL!!”
Wait… he did? So what was I hanging out here talking to him for? I hung up, only to see, with much surprise, the words “End call—Professor Oak” glowing on my TADS screen. Wow, that was unexpected.
Oh well.

Pokemon: Treecko Torchic Mudkip Funds upon completion: 300 It's definately the most entertaining of these missions that I've read yet, but you do have a couple small battling problems. 1. Gible may be part Ground, but the part Dragon makes up for that downside against Grass-types. 2. The battles against the Treecko was unfair. 2-vs-1? Change it to 1-vs-1 and fix Gible's weakness and it'll be a pass.

I'll change that, but I tihnk I'll just edit the existing post rather than post it all over again--that would take up waaaaay too much space.

"Tell me about it..." I reply tiredly. "Sometimes I wish the whole world was one big bed..." My eyes begin to glaze over. "Well, that may not be true... but this couch is..." Within seconds I'm asleep.
