He has that effect and its best not to deal with him if possible he can be very Trickery him being the god of tricks and lies and all.

I'm in sort of an odd position here. On one hand, he'd be a very powerful ally to have in my group. On the other hand, like you said, he can be very tricky.

Loki has no allies just people he will use to get what he wants until they are not needed Indeed he is very powerful but at what coast he must have something to gain Loki does nothing out of good will but i trust in you to make the right choice.
