Of me meeting Kiss or Kiss meeting me?
razz
@Edi: She's been doing well. She was saying how she hadn't spoken to you guys since the last meet up. She was surprised we still post here (although, admittedly, not very often anymore).

I think I've become addicted to Smurfs Village for iPhone... Anyone else excited about seeing the Smurfs movie in August? http://www.smurfhappens.com/btw: Super Moon tonight. The last time it happened was 18 years ago in 1993. Moon rise is approx. around 7:51pm. The moon is supposed to be super huge in the sky. I'm going to see if I can get some good pictures...

This is the first I've heard of this Smurfs movie, actually. I hope Gaia has some freebie item for watching the trailer of it. :B Did you get any good moon pics? surprised

I found my good camera after some searching and took one photo that I thought might come out well, but I still need to upload it onto my computer to see for sure. One of my friends got a good one with one of those fancy lenses.
Yeah, that would be cool if Gaia was able to do a promotional thing with the Smurfs movie. I still have my dolls from when I was a kid and some of those Smurf scratch and sniff stickers from the 80's too. They still smell. =33 I need to get that stuff together for a "Hey look at my crap!" retro pic. xd

I went out to see it and thought this isn't that big of a deal so went back in to see if I had the right night. I did, but north america was turned away from it so it looked SUPER HUGE to those south of the equator. Kinda disappointed but still went back out and enjoyed how pretty and clear it was. Took a couple of pics with my crappy camera but my friend got his super fancy camera out and they looked really good!
Hi everyone!! Hope you all had a great weekend! smile

Everyone mentions things like this moon thing after the fact. gonk I didn't miss it, but I had no idea that I was seeing something out of the ordinary until later, LOL. I was driving home Saturday night luckily in the direction of the moon and saw it and thought that it looked kind of cool but at the time I had no idea it was anything "special" other than a full moon. I did notice later that night when looking outside that it looked very bright out but it wasn't until like 2:00 AM I saw someone mention the super moon thing online so I went out to look at it again, but by then I don't think it was all that close anymore or something, because it didn't look all that impressive.

-sigh- Alright gaiz, astromyth smackdown time.
Mostly relevant is the additional note at the very top that this guy added on the 19th, but the rest of the article is pretty good too: http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/badastronomy/2011/03/18/kryptonite-for-the-supermoon/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed:+BadAstronomyBlog+(Bad+Astronomy)
It's closer, yeah, but the moon wasn't a whole lot closer than it usually is. When it was rising, maybe you noticed it slightly bigger, but when it was higher in the sky it really probably didn't look bigger because of when it's higher in the sky... well, you don't have that standard optical illusion of when it's lower on the horizon and it appears huge.
