Manectric had been focusing her energy on holding on rather than thinking about any counterattack that the Raichu might have sprung. That being said, she was caught off guard, and her eyes opened wide as she lost her grip on her foe, watching helplessly as the magical wall of light protecting her suddenly shattered, only then to have Shocker's powerful hind leg slam into her chin. She staggered back, reeling from the blow and shaking her head, trying to regain her composure. Surge called out an order, although the sounds of battle made it nearly impossible to hear. Deciding to play it safe for the time being, Manectric continued to back off, all the while drawing electricity from the air and towards her, using Charge to build up energy for her next attack, and also to give her special defenses a boost.
Electabuzz, on the other hand, braced himself as Hiro approached him, holding out his arms in an attempt to stop the large Pokemon from crashing into him. His efforts weren't completely in vain, as most of the force from the attack got through, not to mention the damage from the flames themselves, but the Electric-type managed to keep himself from being bowled over. "Thunderpunch!" Surge bellowed, and Electabuzz growled, electricity coursing over his clenched fist as he slammed it into the prone Arcanine's chest, causing a bright flash of energy to light up the area.

"Absolutely," Whitney replied. Reaching into her pocket and taking out a small white- and tan-colored key, she unlocked the Gym's door before walking inside, beckoning Crenu to follow. The Gym's interior was decorated amiably with pretty potted flowers, most of which bore a red and yellow coloration. They were set up so that a miniature maze was created, with the arena being in the dead-center. Trainers would have to navigate throughout the maze, encountering Whitney's underlings along the way. Jenna and Daisy aren't here right now though, she thought, so it'll be okay if he like, just fights me.
It was but a few minutes later that Whitney and Crenu arrived at the arena; upon doing so, the Leader directed her challenger to his side of the arena while she quickly scampered off to use a conveniently placed PC, making a quick exchange of the Pokemon she intended to use in the battle. Returning to the arena, she let out a little bit of a sigh. "I'm like, sorry about making you wait," she said. "But now, it's time for the reason you've called me here!" Whitney cleared her throat. She loved this part.
"The rules of this Gym Battle are like, as follows. We are each entitled to two Pokemon-- any ones that you want to use! However, they cannot be recalled, as we are going to be partaking in a Double Battle, so whichever ones you elect to use have to stay out until they faint. And, the use of items is strictly prohibited. Aside from that, I wish you the best of luck!"
With a slight grin, Whitney reached for her belt, snatching two Pokeballs. "All right, let's get this thing going! Go!" Flinging the Pokeballs onto the field with a slight amount of force, her Pokemon erupted from their spherical homes in a bright blast of white light.
Miltank stomped her hooves once or twice on the floor while Castform floated next to her partner.

Glad to see that her opponent was backing off, Shocker checked out her aching thigh, frowning at the puncture wounds left by Manectric's sharp teeth. She then watched the Electric-type in front of her taking in the electricity from the atmosphere, and was very envious of her ability to use Charge. She pushed it from her mind, however, as she heard Kasiya call out to her to use Agility, which would boost her speed significantly, and maybe help her keep up with the amazingly agile Manectric. After a few good practice stretches, Shocker began to move, her long tail streaming out behind her as she circled the arena, keeping an eye both on the Manectric, and her partner, Hiro, in case he needed her help.
Hiro had not been expecting a powerful fistful of electricity to slam into his broad chest, and for a moment it knocked the wind out of the overgrown puppy. Snarling, Hiro took a few steps back, his body shaking with a mixture of both rage and pain. He shook his mane out a bit, ready to continue battling the black and yellow striped Electabuzz. "All right Hiro, Flamethrower!" Kasiya called decisively, forgetting that Electabuzz still had its Light Screen in tact. Hiro opened his mouth and loosed a jet of intense, scorching hot flames, but the damage given would be cut in half, perhaps even more, because of the protective barrier.

Train was walking along the path again. Pewter seemed close. But Train didn't want to get there right now. She knew she needed more training. Brock may be only the first gym leader, but he and his pokemon were strong...still to strong for Train's pokemon to handle, even with their new attacks.
So she strayed away from the path, going into the tall grass by the side. Maybe she could get her pokemon up a few more levels, them challange Brock again...
Pikachu zigzagged in front of Train for moment, then resumed padding alongside her quietly, but happily.

Kurine couldn't help but laugh at the Sentret's reaction. "Don't be afraid, little pokemon!" She said, crouching down and holding out her hand a bit. Sentret approached her slowly, then sniffed her hand. "How'd you like to come with me? You'd have your own pokeball, and Cyndaquil would have a new friend!" Kurine said, smiling. But the Sentret retreated, running back a few yards. It knew the word 'Pokeball'. It knew that that meant being captured, and forced to be a slave for these humans! It didn't know Kurine was nice, and wouldn't treat it like a slave.
"Sent!" The wild pokemon hissed, swiping at Cyndaquil, as a Scratch attack. Cyndaquil cried out unhappily as the Sentret's claws raked it's face, leaving some small stinging lines in it's face. "Cyndaquil!" Kurine cried. "Cyndaquil, use Smokescreen!" She commanded, not liking the fact that her pokemon had just been hurt. Cyndaquil opened his mouth and let out a thick stream of smoke, making it harder to see.

Mag and Linalee both made their way up the plank onto the ship. At the top stood stout Sailor. "Welcome aboard the ship, we'll be leaving now that we've reached full capacity. Feel free to mingle with the trainers as we travel to the Islands. We should reach One Island in about 15 minutes. The other Islands will follow in ascending order with about 5 minutes between each Island." The man continued as other Sailors pulled up the plank and were pulling up the docking ropes.
"Thanks." Mag said to the man. "Oh and here are some room keys in case you want your own room to wait in." The Sailor added pulling out the two electronic keys. "Most of the Sailors and some of the other passengers are on the lower deck in the battle area. Feel free to go there if you want to train. Now I must go to my other duties." With a short bow the man was off.

"Well I guess I'll check out this training area." Mag said after the two had studied a map of the ship posted on the wall. Both had ridden the ship to get to Kanto but neither had done much outside of their rooms. "Okay. I think I'll head to my room first and then meet you down there later." Linalee said as she scampered off to her cabin. With his friend gone, Mag headed to the front of the ship to take the stairs to the lower deck.
Mag walked down the wide stairs to the lower floor. It was relatively well lit and he walked down right into the training room since the stairs were positioned directly in the center of it. There were plenty of Sailors working out with their pokemon over to Mag's right. Over to the left Sailors and Passengers were engaged in pokemon battles. The young red-head made his way over to the pokemon battles as the ship began to move. There were plenty of spectators that he could battle.
"Hey you, new kid!" one of the older gentleman said. "I'm here on vacation but I think I could take on a kid like you." He stated. "So how would you like to battle?" The man questioned as he raised up a pokeball. "If you want to then bring it on!" Mag replied as he tossed up one of his pokeballs and caught it again.

Train and Pikachu roamed for about an hour, but no pokemon came out at them. Thus, Train and Pikachu both dropped their gaurd. Then they heard a rustling in the grass, and Train stopped to see what it was.
Pikachu took a small step closer, as the pokemon didn't smell like the Ratata's or Pidgey's they'd been running into. Then a large blade of grass moved. Train looked at it closer, and realized the blade of grass was attached to something...something purple!
"What is that, an overgrown berry?" She asked no one in particular. Then the purple thing peeked out from the grass. "Oddish?" It said, looking at Train, confused.

The Sentret lifted itself as high as it could go on it's big tail, but couldn't manage to see over the smoke. "Sen-tret!" It said unhappily, as it wanted to show this trainer that it couldn't be scared away. The Sentret blurred, and some smoke was blown aside. Cyndaquil turned it's head to look at the trail that was being made, but realized what was happening too late. The Sentret's Quick Attack hit, knocking Cyndaquil to the ground, and dealing a fair amount of damage. The Sentret looked triumphant.
"No! Cyndaquil!" Kurine cried. "Tackle attack!" Cyndaquil rose to it's feet, trying to shake off the impact. Then it ran at Sentret, tackling it as hard as it could.

Miharu had a noticeable skip in her step as she biked along the path that would lead her north, back towards Violet City. She recalled hearing Falkner tell her that now that she had a Zephyr Badge, she could purchase more of his trademark Aerial Ace TMs at the Violet City Pokemon Mart. She zipped down the trail, past trainers who were busy battling and practicing, finding herself in the familiar town once again. It had been a few weeks since she'd last seen this place, and it was welcoming to see that it hadn't changed much at all. For a moment she considered riding back home to visit her father in Cherrygrove City, but decided against it, knowing that if she came home now, he would probably just assume that she'd given up on being a trainer.
The small-framed girl parked her bike outside the blue-roofed building, and went inside, already pulling out the badge case that contained her first two Johto badges. She marched up to the counter boldly, but felt her confidence leave her as she realized she'd have to say something. "I, uh, um, would like to pur-purchase an Aerial Ace TM, please," she said, ashamed at her timid-sounding voice.
"All right, honey, but do you have Falkner's badge? I'm afraid I can't give it to you unless you can show me the Zephyr Badge." The clerk looked down at the small girl, having not even made a move toward getting the requested TM.
"It's right here, next to my Hive Badge," Miharu stated semi-firmly, holding up the badge case so the clerk could see.
"Very good. These aren't cheap, though," she said, using a key attached to the cord around her neck to open up a small case nearby. Miharu tilted her head to the side as the clerk fetched her desired TM. How expensive could they be?
Apparently, pretty close to everything she had. Miharu left the Mart with a significantly lighter change purse, still feeling the sting of the steep purchase. She smiled despite her near bankruptcy. After all, this TM was for Aska, and Miharu knew that the Pidgeotto would make great use of it, especially now that she was much stronger.

Mag tossed up his Pokeball to reveal his trusty Vaporeon, Tsunami. "Ah well bad luck for me I guess but we won't let that bring us down." The gentleman said as he released a Growlithe upon the field. It appeared in burst of fire and growled meaceingly thus using it's Intimidate ability to full effect as Tsunami shuddered and her attack was lowered.
"Let's get this started with a bang, Surf it!" Mag commanded as Tsunami began the attack. It seemed as if water materialized from within her as a large (but not too large since they were inside ship) wave appeared and began moving towards the smaller Growlithe. "Use Take Down through to hit it through the wave!" The Gentleman, from now on reffered to was Mr. Mannix, commanded of his pokemon. It pushed through the wave despite obvious discomfort and damage, and managed to smash into Vaporeon roughly.
"We've sailed around the world so my Growlithe here has developed a pretty good resistance to water type attacks. This won't end that easily!" Mr. Mannix taunted. "Now hit it with our specialty move, Aerial Ace!" The Growlithe smirked from his position opposite Tsunami and shot skyward as streaks of white wind energy formed across it's body. "Dodge it with Quick Attack Tsunami! Then try Water Gun!" Mag ordered.
Growlithe neared and was almost in range to attack when Tsunami pulled away as her own white energy followed her in Quick Attack. Growlithe landed but his strategy wasn't over either, it seemed that Mr. Mannix had developed this move long before and it was a potent strategy. Once it landed on the ground Growlithe opened wide as a firey star shaped blast of fire issued from it's mouth. And along with the fire, the Aerial Ace energy issued forth just ahead of the fire. Tsunami was quick on the draw however and pulled out another Surf to block the oncoming blast of intense flames.

Crenu followed her through the flowery maze, somewhat annoyed by all the trouble he had to get through just to find the arena. When they finally got to the arena, he made his way to his side of the field and waited as she switched pokemon at the PC. Hmm, I wonder what pokemon she had with her? Kinda want to battle her walking around pokemon... but I guess I wouldn't stand a chance against them as I am right now. I'll be back though, I am intrigued by her other pokemon...
"A double battle huh? That's fine by me."
Crenu pulled out two of his own pokeballs and let them sail into the arena.
"Larvitar, Ariados, front and center!"
A white light flooded the arena floor as Crenu's pokemon were released from their pokeballs. Larvitar beat his wrists together and got into a fighting stance, his fists guarding his face. Ariados stood hissing next to him with her head low to the ground, bringing her abdomen above her while the two leg like protrusions that rested on top of it flailed around. Crenu grinned a little, he had only had one double battle so far and was looking for some more experience in this form of competition. He was also nervous though, as his lack of experience could be a bad thing since this was a gym battle. Before he could think about it further, he was caught by surprise when he saw Whitney's pokemon. A Miltank was a rare pokemon indeed, and as far as he was concerned they were also quite strong. Rollout was defenetly something he would have to look out for. But that other pokemon, he had never seen anything like it before. It was so small and odd looking, kinda like a little grey cloud.
"What the heck is that thing? I've never seen it before in my life."

Aerial Ace sliced a good hole through the wave and the Fire Blast crept through the wave. It created much steam and was at about 3/4 power but the blast was enough to knock over Tsunami and do some serious damage. "Crap..." Mag lamented. Tsunami was up again however and this time she was determined to get the better of her opponent. "That's the spirit, so send a barrage of Water Guns!" Mag ordered silently wishing he had bought a TM move for Tsunami when he got moves for his other team members.
The opposing Growlithe had stuck to a dodge strategy and managed to avoid the first two Water Guns that Tsunami sent out. But it was showing signs of fatigue as well and slipped on the wet floor only to slide directly into, a now critical hit, Water Gun. The Growlithe was able to get up but it was badly shaken by the blows thus far. "Finish it with Surf!" Mag ordered seeing this as the time for his clincher. "Dodge with Aerial Ace." Mr. Mannix quickly countered.
Growlithe rose high into the air, dodging the wave, as the air energy formed about him. He then shot forth at Tsunami again. And has the previous attempt with the move he managed to score a direct hit on his target. But that was the natue of Aerial Ace so Mag was expecting to take the hit. Now that Growlithe was close it was truely the time to finish it off. Tsunami completed the fight easily landing another Water Gun on the tired puppy. It colapsed on the ground as Mr. Mannix picked it up. "Ah well, thank you for an excelent match m'boy. I look forward to battling again in the future if possible." he said as he made his way over to a healing machine located behind the staircase.

Meanwhile...
Linalee had made her way to her room without much trouble. She swiped the key card for Room #7 and was soon on the bed. The room had a computer on a desk in the corner opposite the bed as well as a few other normal appliances in various places in the room. "Well this is pretty spiffy." Linalee said with a smile. "I suppose I should make my way to the training deck. I could use a good battle too."
The blonde slipped outside her room and began making her way down the long coridor to the outside of the ship and then to the front to the stairs. You'd think that the rooms would be numbered from small to large but they designers had put the first rooms at the end of the hall instead of near the entrance. She passed Rooms #12 and #15 with ease but was intrigued by low, husky voices from Room #17.
"...and that's the plan... Yeah, we'll take 'em with ease..." The manly voice in the room stated. Linalee peeked into the door crack. There were two people inside, a man and a girl of about the same age. They were dressed in black uniforms but she couldn't see anything distinguishing about them. "I hear that the two owners have some a few powerful pokemon at their disposal are you sure we can take them?" the woman replied. "Well their pokemon won't bother us if we take out their trainers first will they?" The man replied with a chuckle. "Sure, sure. But we can't make too big of a scene...!" The woman paused momentarily. "What was that noise?" She asked as she stood up from the chair she was in and looked directly at the door. "Why is the door partially open!" She said as the two began charging towards it.

Rocket Wanna-Be's Biff and Carley found Linalee! Linalee's heart was racing. She had discovered two people who seemed to be criminals and it seemed that they in turn had discovered her! She quickly dashed from the door, and when a few feet away, she kept up a brisk walk and tried to keep up the charade. Moments later, Biff and Carley burst from their room. "HEY YOU!" Biff shouted as he plowed down the hallway and briskly shoved Linalee into the wall of the hallway, effectively blocking the exit as Carley moved in finishing the circle. "What were you doing outside our door?" Carley asked briskly. "Outside your door? I was just walking by, I didn't stand around or anything." Linalee fibbed. But Linlaee hadn't ever been good at bluffing and the two saw her game. "Don't lie to me, child!" Carley said as she laughed behind her hand. "Take her in Biff!" She shouted as she walked back to their room, her long pig tail buns swaying as she stepped. Biff easily grabbed Linalee's arms and put them behind her back. "Now ya just keep quiet now and we'll have no trouble." Biff smirked as he pulled the struggling Linalee to Room #17.
