having called for help from the hunters, Domino now called upon the Father for protection for Jay. After her small prayer, she promised the unconcious comrad she'd be back to ensure that he was okay.

Meredith blazed into the infirmary faster than an inferno could engulf a whisp of dry grass and desperately searched around for Gail. The medic was clearly occupied at the moment so she left Gail to deal with the newb hunters as well as Eliot. She hastily snuck past everyone and snatched four packets of blood and just as quickly as she'd came, she left. She didn't bother with hellos or goodbyes, nor did she decide to announce to Gail, the one person who'd been here all these years that she knew, that she was pregnant. All that mattered was rushing back into the city as bloody fast as the hunk of junk she'd hotwired and parked just outside Hunter's Night Club would take her.

Marcus couldn't help but whistle upon entering the place labeled "The Infirmary". Though it wasn't like most hospitals, this place did have all the things need to fix a person up from fighting the evils of the world. A few of the items the dark haired man was able to recognize from his Med classes in college. Walking further in, Marcus looked around the place to see if anyone was around.

"Whoa, you guys in New York get all the coolest gadgets. Heh, In Cali, all we got are some Hello Kitty bandages." The man joked as he readjusted his hold on his wound.

"So I've been meaning to ask, Miss Kerrigan, you married or got a man?" The Hunter gave the vampiress a large grin of mischief, knowing the question would surly bring awkwardness between them both. But that didn't bother Marcus one bit. The Awkwardness is what he need to keep his mind off the pain. Small things like that always helped the Hunter coping with things like killing Undead, fighting transforming beast men, and taking a bullet in the shoulder.

"Well, no offense, but this is a whole different ballgame," she said with a grin as she entered the Infirmary just behind him. Her eyes swept over the room, a little shocked to not see Gail just sitting there, waiting for her. Lord knows she spent enough time in here during the past few years, she just assumed Gail would be waiting for her the moment she found out the vampiress was back in the city.

Raven's question about her marital status made her chuckle softly as she moved over to a large supply cabinet to pull some supplies while they waited for Gail. Most might think it would make her uncomfortable or shocked, but really she was as used to the question as she was the security measures around here.

"Not at the moment," she replied, shooting him back one of her characteristic fanged grins. Slipping her jacket off once more, she draped it on the counter before picking up several gauze pads and walking over to him. Gently, she took the shirt he had been using, tossing it to the side before pressing the pads on the wound instead.

"And what about yourself? Is there a special someone waiting for you back on the west coast?" Securing the gauze in place with some medical tape, she glanced up at him with a flash of her green eyes before giving him a small wink and moving away from him. She had no sooner left his side when Gail appeared in the room, looking between the huntress with slightly scarred over bullet wounds on her chest and shoulder, to the padded shoulder of Raven.

"What happened now Kerrigan? I knew as soon as we got your message it would only be a matter of time before you were back in here, like you always are," the woman said with a slightly exasperated look on her face. Without another moment's hesitation, she moved Raven over to one of the beds to examine the wound and begin her treatment.

"Gail, this is a new hunter, Raven. And before you say anything else, it wasn't exactly my fault this time," she said with a small laugh, moving back to give the medic enough room to tend to him. Gail glanced back at her with a skeptical expression before focusing on the injured hunter once more. The raven haired huntress run a free hand back through her curls, jumping into a sitting position on the counter to watch the treatment. She felt a little bad about hurting him, and wanted to make sure he was alright before she went anywhere else. At least Haven was a pretty quiet place today, so there was really no where she had to be.

"Not your fault? You were the one who shot me! I'm lucky to still have an arm. Anyways, it's a pleasure to meet you, Dr. Gail." Marcus grunted as he removed his bloody denim jacket and black t-shirt he wore underneath. His whole body was covered in old scars, most of them long pink stripes. Along his wounded shoulder, dry blood stained his left arm from the constant bleeding. Reaching for a blood pouch, Gail inserted a needle into the man's arm and began to transfer more O blood into him as her attention then went back to his shoulder. The woman in the medical coat then began to gently clean the wound, causing some slight discomfort.

Looking over to where Kerrigan sat, Marcus shook his head. "And to answer your question, no. Though about it, but realize you women are a tad unstable for a sophisticated man such as myself." A smug smile played upon the Hunter's face but only for a brief moment. Instead, pain etch on his face as Gail "accidentally" applied too much pressure on the wound.

"Sorry, dear. You got to keep still." The woman said, her voice hinting to the Hunter that he should be careful with what he says while she's fixing him. Marcus couldn't help but laugh.

"I was only kiddin'." He quipped at the doctor before turning his attention to the vampiress with renew curiosity once more. "But yeah, on a serious note, I once thought about settling down with a friend, but you know how that story goes when it comes to us guy hunters. Hell, I know I've heard it one too many times. Fall for girl. Love Girl. Want to marry Girl. Girl gets eaten as a means to extract revenge." Though he tried to seem upbeat and joking, his eyes carried a gloom in it.

"So no go there. Tell me, who runs this joint, anywho? I'm sure as organized and neat as you guys look, there's someone in charge. In Cali, we just call the one who contact us 'Leader' and follow him for the mission. I'm guessing the ballpark here is slightly different..." Marcus attempted to shrug, but only met stiff resistance and pain as the woman name Gail gave him a glare as she began stitching his shoulder up.

"Didn't I say 'sit still'? Anyways, I'm almost done. You're lucky. The bullet went through and left no fragments. Lost alot of blood, but you'll live. Still a chance for infection, so I suggest taking some antibiotics just in case. It'll be sore for a while, but you'll be able to hunt within a couple a days as soon as the stitches settle in." With that, the woman cut and finished up her work, pausing to see if her sewing was up to par. A nod of satisfaction was the seal of approval.

Feeling stiff and now more tired than ever, Marcus glanced at Gail and gave a weak smile. "Thanks, Doc. You guys take Medicare?" He joked as he attempted to slip off the table. Glancing at the needle that connected to the blood pouch, Marcus gently pulled it out of his arm. At first it looked as though Gail was going to protest, but simply let it go, familiar with how some Hunters are about the seriousness of their wounds. Looking over to Kerrigan, the Hunter gave the woman a sly grin.

"Thirsty?"

"Um, excuse me, but I do believe you were the first one to pull the trigger," she retorted, getting a death glare from Gail that instantly made her shut up, even if there was a mischievous glint in her emerald eyes. His reply to her question made her laugh, Gail's reaction bringing a brief look of pain to Raven's face that only made her more amused.

"If you think other women are unstable, you're really going to have a field day with me," she said with a grin, clearly joking around with him as she continued to watch the work being done on his arm. He continued on with a little more serious tone in his voice, Kerrigan nodding to show she understood exactly what he was talking about.

"It doesn't get any easier when the other person is a Hunter too. I was engaged before I left the city, but he disappeared after a fight at the docks, and even when he got back, it was never the same. He went from being the Omega Hunter to...well yea, like I said earlier, single." Her smile remained on her face, even though her eyes dimmed slightly. All the time in the world would never completely get her over Krii. She thought about how he always tried to protect her, and how much she hated it, but at the same time she had a feeling that it was just a guy thing. She could prove time and time again that she could take care of herself, and yet any man in her life always wanted to treat her like a porcelain doll and keep her on a pedestal. It was demeaning. Thankfully, she was saved from the depths of her own thoughts as Raven asked about their leadership, Kerrigan's eyes glistening once more as she was re-engaged in conversation.

"Oh, Meridith Jackson recently stepped into leadership. Before her, her brother William ran things around here, so we are in really good hands. I think she is out of town at the moment, but she should be back soon. Things have been kind of quiet as far as I know around here, but I'm sure they'll pick up soon. We all kind of do our own thing in small groups sometimes, but when big things happen the Hunters can go out as one massive army and take care of business.." Crossing her arms over her chest as she watched Gail finish up on Raven, she shook her head as he got up, pulled the needle out of his arm in true Kerrigan style, and grinned in her direction. Slipping off the counter as he asked if she was thirsty, she tossed her curls over her shoulder, returning the grin.

"Always."

Despite being a bit sore and tender around his gunshot wound, Marcus went to find his removed clothing, only to notice it covered in blood. A sigh escaped from him as he looked over to Gail. "By any chance does this Infirmary carry any spare clothing?" He asked in a somewhat comical innocent voice. Gail looked at him with a sigh escaped her lips. Though she had just met the man, she had a feeling she knew how his type was going to be.

"Of course. But don't make this into a habit. We aren't Goodwill." Though she sounded strict, Marcus could of sworn she caught something in her eyes that said otherwise. Falling back to a large metal cabinet, the Dr. Gail returned with a worn box filled with a variety of clothes. "Pick only one shirt. We have other bloodied folks who might need spare clothing as well."

Marcus chuckled as he studied the clothing in the box. "I thought you guys weren't Goodwill?" The dark haired man mused as he went about it's content, eventually pulling out a black sweater hoodie. Removing his spare magazine and pistol, Marcus transferred his weapon to his new clothes pocket. Gail gave the Hunter a glare before smiling and returning the box.

Once feeling more comfortable, Marcus turned his attention back to the Vampiress. "I'm sorry to hear that about your fiancee." He said in a solemn voice as he walked closer to Kerrigan, taking a spot next to her. "I'm sure he was a good man. Hell probably the best." He continued, shrugging his shoulders as his gaze followed Gail the doctor as she began to clean up the mess Marcus's treatment has caused. Taking his bloodied clothing, she quickly threw it away as well as the used medical equipment.

"Meridith Jackson...name sounds familiar." He said as he nodded his head, lost in some thoughts about how this organization ran. This was definitely bigger than his Friend's List on Facebook. The thought caused him to suddenly to chuckle.

"I'm sorry...I just feel so...small in this place compared to our group in Cali. So I was wondering...anyone free to join this country club?" Now crossing his own arms over his chest, Marcus glanced at Kerrigan's way with a grin. "Also, does this joint got anything to eat? I haven't eaten since West Virgina this morning. I'm freakin' starving." The man chuckled as he then glanced over to see Gail now go off to check a computer that sat over by a desk. "Perhaps even hook me up with a tour of this lovely establishment as well, eh?

It had been a long time since Kerrigan saw a man without his shirt on - longer than she cared to admit. While she was certainly no pre-pubescent school girl when it came to boys, her eyes couldn't help but stray from his face slightly as he dug through the Infirmary's box of spare clothing. It was funny to her, seeing Gail's reaction. He was having the same impact on her that she had when she first came to the city - an impact that so many of the other hunters had on her as well. It seemed that only certain personalities made it to NYHG. They were all so similar that it was no wonder they all ended up considering the hunters their family.

His return to her remarks about Krii snapped her back to reality, her green eyes going wide for a brief second as she looked at him before she realized she hadn't missed anything else he said. Slouching forwards once more as he came to lean on the counter next to her, she smiled at him, chuckling softly.

"Well thanks. It was a long time ago, so I'm over it now. Can't say it didn't hurt like a b***h for a long time, but one thing you learn when you get turned by a vampire is that time really doesn't matter anymore," she replied, though the smile she gave him seemed to thank him for being respectful about it all. He seemed to disappear into his own thoughts for a moment, something she couldn't fault him for since she did it all the time. Hunting in this city was on a whole new level that many of the hunter's who came to New York never really imagine. Everything was run differently, and she could only imagine how overwhelmed he must be feeling from her crash course on their way to the infirmary. These thoughts were communicated to her almost exactly as Raven asked for a tour, food and some more information about the group. Of course, Kerri was always willing to oblige a new hunter / friend.

"Well, as far as I know anyone can join so long as they have half a brain...lord knows we have had some real dumbasses in these halls before. I don't think there is a test or anything, but since the mortals found out about the other races we have had a problem with every human with a gun thinking they can be a hunter. Part of the reason why I had to take a little vacation," she said with a small laugh, slipping off the counter and motioning for him to follow her so they could get something to eat. Even though she just got back in the city that same morning, it felt like she never left as she walked out into the hallways once more, calling back another thanks for Gail.

"Well, there are two places to eat in Haven - Hunters or the Cafeteria. They serve basically the same thing, but we can go to the caf so I can show you some of the other sights along the way. This place seems a lot bigger than it really is, but it has basically everything you need," she explained, taking off at a leisurely pace through the hallways. She was a little anxious about seeing Cookie again - after all, she never really spoke to him again after her whole turning thing. Hopefully it wouldn't turn into anything too big when she showed up - the last thing she wanted was to explain that situation to a man she just met.

Meredith burst into the infirmary, bellowing for Gail's assistance as she did so and Gail was almost instantly at Meredith's side helping her to get Veroen into a bed in order to operate. While Gail had never seen this vampire before she didn't bother to ask any questions in relation to who he was and kept strictly to the task at hand. "What happened to him?"

"He was shot by a UV bullet. He needs help or that thing's seriously going to f--k with his system. Just help him, please, hurry!"

Gail noted the frantic tone that Meredith had taken with her and recalled that she'd only been that way over perhaps one other. She was suspicious about why Meredith seemed to linger around as she began operating but didn't bother to say anything about it and simply worked as Meredith often looked over her shoulder.

The UV hadn't been able to take full course and Gail had been able to neutralize it and counterbalance it so that Veroen would be fine. He would likely feel a little weaker than usual for a few days but it was nothing that a blood packet as well as taking things easy would not fix. With a smile, Gail announced this to Meredith and gauged the young hunter leader's reaction which confirmed her suspicions. "I've never seen him before. This vampire isn't a hunter is he?"

"No he isn't but he's on our side ..."

"If you are willing to have faith in him then I suppose I can have a little. Just don't let your feelings cloud your judgment, alright?" Gail smiled and was quickly whisked off to the next hunter patient, leaving Eden alone with Veroen passed out in his bed.

Veroen's eye popped open, still completely black, swirling with the Void.
He glanced around for a moment.

He was weak.

He then saw Eden looking down at him, and he gently smiled at her. He attempted at sitting up, but immediately failed. He laid there, in his weakened state, and quickly absorbed the scenery. He had not been here before. It looked like an infirmary of sorts...

He guessed that it was the Haven Infirmary.

He let out a sigh, and looked up at her.

"What...happened?" he said with a weak voice. The mixture of using the Void, and the UV bullet had certainly taken its toll on him.

As soon as Veroen began to stir, Meredith's heightened senses picked up on it and she was instantly at his side faster than the drop of a thousand pound feline and significantly quieter than one as well. Air rushed past her as she made her way over to Veroen to assure that he was alright and she waited for his eye to focus on her and upon seeing his smile she grinned back and gently hugged him around the neck, careful to avoid his shoulder, thus making the hug slightly awkward. When he attempted to sit up and completely failed at the entire procedure Meredith frowned but was just grateful that he was better all thanks to Gail. She really owed Gail and ought to do something for the medic sometime but right now that probably wasn't going to happen seeing as though she wasn't about to leave Veroen. That was the advantage of the haven infirmary, you weren't forced to leave, unlike a hospital. "You just woke up, genius, take it easy for once. You're totally safe here, okay? Just chill for a while until you're feeling better.

When she was asked what happened Meredith's mouth formed into a frown and she gave him a look as if he had just randomly asked her what the name of her dead bipolar aunt was. "Don't you remember? We were in the alley and Kerri and Raven were there along with that Amber chick and Peter ... Then that vampire chick showed up and you talked to her and things kind of took a turn for the worst and you two started fighting. I was day dreaming or something and she shot some UV rounds and you were STUPID enough to push me out of the way. I'm a lycan for hell's sake, you're the vampire. Those rounds affect YOU, not ME. What were you thinking? You scared the s--t out of me! Seriously! I ... I guess I just forgot that you're vulnerable too if you're hit in the right spots and being right there and seeing it was a reality check. I'm really sorry, I shouldn't be yelling at you for that, that was totally my fault." She looked concerned and pulled a seat up beside his bed and made a point of snatching his hand and holding onto it while inspecting him as if he were a vase that had a crack down the side that could shatter at any moment.
PostPosted: Sun Sep 06, 2009 10:16 pm

Veroen grinned at her as she began to let her concern spill out in the form of yelling. She was so cute when she was angry...

His grin turned into a smile after she finished.

"No Edith, it wasn't your fault. It was most likely mine, because of my rash mood...."

He tried to remember the last few moments that he was conscious. Unsuccessfully.

"Its ok. Really. And I'm sorry that i worried you...I just love you too much to let you get hurt at all, Edith..." He admitted, with the swirling darkness in his eye beginning to disappear, for the first time since he made his discovery in Las Noches.

"Well what the hell happened to put you in such a bad mood? I mean you looked like you were going to tear a few things apart until I came along and then you were all smiley but as soon as you looked away you were unresponsive. Care to fill me in at all? I'm kind of in the dark since Raven just messaged me that you were really pissed off and took out three bouncers in Las Noches. I mean, I hate that place and haven't really earned a good rep and really have to lay low to get in there at all anymore but jeez. What happened? You don't just attack people for no reason, I know that. And if something managed to push your buttons it had to be something important. What's up?" It was clear she was just asking out of concern and wanted to know if there was anything at all she could do to help. She wasn't very educated in the void but her own abilities were somewhat picking up a strange reading on them.

"Also ... What's with the change in eye colour? It's really whacking my wolven side out. She's ... well ... not me and she really doesn't like vampires and since you're kind of a high status one the radar gets set off sometimes. I think it trusts you, though, simply because it can detect things like that. But yeah ... This is just f--ked up sharing a body with some being that's way older than I am ... But anyhow, I love you too but seriously, I can take that hit a lot better than you can. Next time just let the bullet hit me. James' bullet was a silver one so that's why it hurt like a b--ch but UV is like lead." She smiled and decided to prop herself up on the bed to lay beside him instead of sitting on the chair leaning over the bed.

Veroen maneuvered over with great difficulty to make room for Meredith. He let out a sigh after he managed to do so. He was slowly regaining his strength, so he managed to also wrap his arm around her. It had been quite some time since he had the chance to be close to Edith like this...

His eye had began to clear up, however when Meredith mentioned the events of Las Noches, he groaned and his eye instantaneously shot into another dark pit. He moved his other hand onto his forehead, stress building inside of him. Anger was beginning to build up as well, but he was suppressing it.

He let out a sigh.

"The Coven betrayed me Eden... They played me a fool.... I am such an idiot..."

He clenched his teeth for a moment, with his hand still on his forehead covering his eye. Then after a couple of seconds, he unclenched his teeth, fighting the building anger, and the Void growing inside him.
