((And now that SoG is over. Back to the carnage.))

Suddenly the machine stopped moving forward. The Legs tapped together and the body lowered towards the rooftop. Centre of gravity lowered, another locking hiss of steam substance came about... And then a gigantic bust as the four legs propelled the machine into the air.
Though not for long. It's front two legs came down first, digging into the roof of a nearby building. With that wedge the building stood no chance against the machine's weight and soon exploded into a cloud of dust an splinter. Glass and boards spreading out into the street.
And then the Longlegs followed said debris, scuttling out just in time for the momentum powered ball to pass it by and the iron hook to snap back into the cannon. Deciding not to let the ball get ahead of it, the machine once again leapt forward onto the ball.
The ball smashed into a fountain in one of Latent's open town squares just as the spider machine fell on it. It was a perfect machine to stop, plenty of room to move and potential escape options. It was almost arena like...

Chris Custard "You're not exactly Gaia's most wanted, but..." Siat ended his sentence there for fear of ending the pleasant conversation. "But what?" she said, her tone of voice light. It was the forced kind of light, however, the kind that came from people sitting behind large desks, the kind of people who stroke fluffy white cats and make subtle (or not so subtle, dependng on the movie rating) threats while their henchmen loom behind you and crack their knuckles. It wasn't the tone of voice you'd associate with, say, sitting on top of a roof sharing pizza with an attractive young woman. There was a noticable lack of romantic music, or any type of music at all. The only soundtrack, if you could call it that, would be set to the tune of distant screams and the sounds of collapsing masonry, halfway across town.

† A singular figure strode through the clustered dirt ways of Latent, eyes swiveling too and fro, shop to stand, examining the scenery as he went. He ran a hand through his chestnut hair, sucking air through his nose and catching the scents of spice, produce, and salted meat; scents which he would never detect. Pravus stepped into a side path between two buildings, running his fingers along the cold sandstone walls as he carefully avoided discarded refuse. He exited into one of the town squares, and gazed upon a beautiful fountain. Emotions stirred in him - and yet he didn't even blink. The thundering sound of collapsing structures reached him, soon followed by a rush of momentum as some sort of mech exploded its way into the fountain. The arachnid-like contraption held its ground as hundreds of people fled, screaming and shouting in horror and suprise. Another set of emotions rose up within Pravus; and this time a smile beget his features. He stepped toward the machine purposefully, his movements calculated and with lethal intent. †

Cro's ear twitched, almost as if he could hear the directions the strange machine was giving to itself as the ground was flattened down.
His feet kicked up over the glass, before he skidded to a halt, barely dodging a flying leviathan head from the fountain...
"Whoa...someones gonna be ticked about that." He said to no one in paticular.

>> HOSTILE ONE: INACTIVE_ >> HOSTILE TWO: IN PURSUIT_ >> THIRD HOSTILE IDENTIFIED_
The machine's red optic focused in on the singular figure. Now, while the Longlegs did not have common sense, thousands of matrices and processes allowed it to identify what was hostile, nay, lethal intent. Perhaps that's why people stand by computers, they deal with everything logistically rather than through gut feelings.
On the other hand, most living things would attempt to talk it out with a person they just met. Machines on the other hand went straight for the "eliminate" option.
The front end of the machine hunkered down low to the ground, legs getting ready for another burst of kinetic energy. All and all it would seem like a leaping spider on the Discovery Channel moments before its lethal jump. There are two innate problems with this analogy though: One, you need bigger and better ways to catch larger flies, and two, most leaping spiders don't have the equipment the Longlegs does.
Instead of a forward leap, putting itself in danger, the Longlegs leapt backwards, away from the approaching figure. On its way back, the two powerful hind legs swept forward, providing enough force for the the spiders previous perch to zoom towards Pravus. That perch was the wreaking ball.
With another metallic clunk, the spider clattered back onto all four legs. All the while multiple tons of metal careened towards the lone figure.

Nell was walking south on the road between Barton and Latent. He had be walking that road for a while now after meeting up with it, just as the traviler he had met said he would. It was a typical day for him in gaia, he was hungery and his back hurt from laying on the ground at night and he was horribly bored, but that would not stop him because he could now see his next destination, the town of Latent. The town was still far off, but it was visable and that gave him strength.
Nell who is only about 5' 2" is a very pale, young man of 21 years old. To most he would look to be just a peasant, for he did not own anything of value and the only clothing he had to his name was a tattered piece of dirty white cloth, which he fashioned into a robe. He was lucky to even have this thanks to the traviler that he met before. None of this really mattered though because he had found his destination, and he was now one step closer to his goal.
((unsure if it is night or day in latent, so I can't be sure I can even get in right now. So if someone know please let me know so I can decide what to do next.))
After spending some time making his way slowly along the road toward Latent, Nell finally was there. He stared at the gates of the city with great intrest, thinking to himself how much closer he had come to his destination.
A smile spread across Nell's face as he thought of his new dream of being something great in Leviathan Stadium. All the things he would be able to do and see in this new world. How great his life would be from now on compaired to his former life of boring ananimity.
Nell shook his head as he came to his sences, after all he could not stand a the gates to this town if he wanted to become something great. Nell made his first step into the town of Latent, and has he did a huge explosion rocked the earth. Nell being new to this world was not sure what to think, but being that this great racket caught his attention. So he started off in the general direction of the destructive sounds, at a slow pace. Thinking that by the sound of things he would have no problem getting to the commotion before it ended, even if he took it slow.

† Pravus blinked; and then was completely crushed by a wrecking ball. The thing hit him with several thousand pounds of force, reducing him to something the consistency of paper. It rolled on towards a building behind him uselessly, but without the momentum to damage it.
From the veritable crater of cobblestones, a small cloud of dust issued forth. Several moments passed. And then the harrowing sound of a bass cackle escaped the place where Pravus had once stood. Cords of sickly green ichor threaded their way upwards fluidly, weaving and interlocking themselves like some dread organic thing. In mere seconds, the green tongues had made themselves into a humanoid biped; to be replaced in the next instant by Pravus, clothes and all. Pravus grinned maliciously, and quickened his step towards the machine. †

Nell continued in the direction of the sounds of distruction, until he came apon the path of the destruction. Looking about he began to wonder what could have done so much damage.
Nell turned just before he walked onto the destroyed rubble, thinking it better that he does not walk on what is left of this part of town. Seeing as he does not have any shoes and it would be dumb of him to walk all over a place that could contain broken glass and nails without them.
Nell slowly walked around the areas of destroyed building following the path of destruction. As he thought he came apon the notion that the town had been destroyed by a gaint chicken. As to how he got the idea, he is not sure how, but if someone were standing near enough to him they would hear him mumbuling about gaint chickens and the such. For like many other times in his life, his imaginagtion had run away with him again.

He nodded to himself.
Distracted! Now's my chance!
Assuming that the wrecking ball was still there, it'd be the perfect time to get rid of the so call'd perch. So as Evan got into range, he took a leap into the air from a nearby rooftop, a good twenty feet upwards. Then as he came down, he drew his katana, preparing for a move.
With a shout to focus, he brought his katana to bear, and continued his downward movement... and the air before the blade was sheared in two. A pillar of sheer air pressure went towards the chain of the wrecking ball, aiming to sever the ties that bound it and effectively taking away some of its destructive potential!
"HIAAAAAH~!" Quote: Air-Cutting Long Sword- After a leap into the air, the practitioner cuts downwards in a Makko Giri, creating a wave of force that is equal to a car travelling at 60 mph. Seven ft. high and 1 ft. wide, it is one of the most devastating attacks in the Chudan no Kamae.

>> ERROR_ >> CHANCE OF IMPACT SURVIVAL LESS THAN 1%_ >> CALCULATING POSSIBILITIES... CHECK_ >> POTENTIAL METAHUMAN_ >> NON-MACHINE EMPATH_ >> USELESS TO CREATORS_ >> PATH: DESTROY_
The machine on the other hand wouldn't have a chance to use the wrecking ball again, the chain was soon severed by a well placed air attack. Thus the ball went flying into the alley Pravus entered from. After a brief shower of sparks the ball found a resting place there.
>> TRAJECTORY FOUND_ >> CHANGE MUNITIONS_
With that the machine burst forward, planning to meet Pravus head on. Hopefully what wouldn't be noticed was the angle of the hook cannon, now aimed towards Hugin.
>>FIRE_
At the last moment two quick bursts, the first was the machine changing direction at the last possible moment to run away from both Hugin and the amazing reforming man. The second would be the firing of the Hook cannon. Only instead of a hook, this time the machine shot a two pronged grabbing arm.
If it grappled Hugin, the chain would once again begin to reel back in. The cannon would jeer slightly, swinging Hugin into Pravus. Two birds, one stone.
Hugin would become the wrecking ball he destroyed.

† Pravus moved like grease lightning. As the grapple device shot passed him, he felt the sheer momentum and velocity rush against his face. In that same second, the cellular composition of his right arm began to... shift. Pravus' fingers, thumb, arm, and sleeve conjoined, and solidified into a singular diamond mass. He raised his once-arm, and by the time he had completed the arc, it had solidified into a blade of utter beauty; a bioligical mass of lethal perfection. Pravus' arm shot downwards, in a movement which would sever the chain like a hot knife through butter. †

Nell Had been following the path of distruction for quite a while now and to his suprise has he turns one last corner he sees a gaint spider mech engaged in a battle with two people.
He was still quite far of from the battle, but he could see it well enough to know that at his currant skill level he would have no chance against the mech. So instead he used his jumping abilities to jump from the ground to a peice of a destroied building that was sticking out and from there to the uper level of what was left of the building. There he sat and watched to see what would happen.

Hn... you think you can fool me?
He noticed. And he did the last thing anyone would expect- headed straight towards the metallic beast at a dead sprint. No giving up here... and as he expected, the chain fired. Just somehing else. No matter- the same thing would happen.
Because in the instant the arm fired, he was already ready.
It only took the space of one second before Evan dodged to his left side, his form blurring as he moved with the speed of the wind. Arm thus evaded, he continued charging forward, intent on carving this thing to shreds. Before he got within range, Evan sheathed his blade and prepared himself...
And once he was set, the blade was out in exacty three tenths of a second, cutting through one of the metallic legs. Only it wasn't just one cut... it was soon found out that it was two. He had attacked with both sword and sheath- the speed and force of the sheath attack was such that it pretty much counted as a blade as well.
If successful, one leg would be useless... Quote: Gale Shift- Evan performs a senkuu (Air Flash) manuver, using the aid of the wind in order to move fast enough to evade attacks and projectiles while making it seem as if he vanished from sight. He is highly vulnerable on startup for one full second due to the amount of focus required, and during the evasion as well if improperly timed. Two-Fold Scimitar- The practitioner strikes at the draw of the blade in Ichimonji, moving his torso to add force to the attack. As the blade moves in a horizontal line, the saya is to follow. With enough training, it can be made to look like the sword struck twice instead of once.
