Kilik took a step back, somewhat in shock. Shoot! I wasn't expecting Double Team... he looked at his Koffing. "Let's blind the bugger! Smokescreen!" The Pokemon opened his mouth, green smoke billowing out and flooding the battlefield. Koffing laughed as well, disappearing into the smoke.
"Koffing!" it laughed. The trainer took a step back. Why is he hiding? Kilik thought.

"This isn't going to end well," Roxanne sighed, her hands falling to her sides. "Try a Tackle, Nosepass!" she called.
"Let's end it now, then!" Keegan grinned. "Themis, use your Thunderbolt!"
The small Electric Pokemon took a few steps forward, leaning back on its four legs before it lunged forward, sending a volley of electricity at its foe. Nosepass gave a shriek before toppling over backwards, its arms and legs flailing uselessly in the air before it became still, some leftover static crackling on its body.
"That's the match," Roxanne smiled, hanging her head. "You did well, Nosepass. Return," she said, recalling the stony Pokemon. "Great battle," she said, walking up to Keegan. "Congratulations, uh, you."
Keegan laughed. "Keegan. My name is Keegan." He held out his hand and the gym leader shook it. "You're tough," he said. "For a moment I didn't think I was going to be able to beat you."
"But you did," Roxanne said, handing him an elongated silver case. Keegan clicked it open, noting the shining Stone Badge inside. "Keep your badges in here. And this is also for you." She smiled, holding out a round disc and a small pouch. "Prize money, and a gift from me. It's TM39, Rock Tomb. It's one of my favourite moves."
"I noticed," Keegan chuckled. "Hey, can I register you in my PokeNav? Maybe we can battle again sometime."
"Sure!"
The two trainers swapped numbers, and said their farewells, Keegan grinning broadly to himself, Themis still by his side.

No sooner had he stepped outside the gym when his PokeNav went of. Keegan stopped in his tracks, digging for the device. "I sure hope that's Kassie," he said, pulling it out and checking the name. Roxanne. "What?" he mused quietly, pressing the 'on' button. "Hello?" he asked, continuing to walk in the general direction of the Pokemon Center. "Roxanne?"
"Yep it's me," the gym leader said. Her voice sounded perkier than she had in the gym.
"What's up?" the surprised trainer asked, stopping to turn and look at the gym. He could see Roxanne standing outside the door, waving at him. She waved back.
"Oh, not much. I just wanted to apologize for laughing at your Psyduck. She really is a toughie. That's all."
"Oh, thanks, apology accepted," Keegan grinned. "That means a lot."
"Take care, and grow stronger! I'm gonna win next time," she said, hanging up the phone.
"I somehow don't doubt that," Keegan laughed, waving at his new friend one last time as he headed for the Pokemon Center, eager to get Althena and Themis all healed up.

"I'm not sure." Mike said tapping his fingers on the side of his cheek. "I guess I could go take on Norman, but I could go exploring. I'm all for your input too." He fidgeted a bit in his seat, trying not to act impatient. "After all, I've already been traveling for some time and this is your first vacation in a while." Mike turned his head slightly, flashinga playful smile at the girl.
"Your call."

((It seems strange, other people posting. O_o )) Once he'd handed his Pokemon over for treatment, Keegan slumped down on a comfy, push couch, holding the new badge case in his hands. He carefully clicked it open again, admiring the badge. "The first step is over," he said, shutting the case and slipping it into his pocket. "Where to next...?" he closed his eyes, hearing the chiming sound of his Pokemon being fully healed an instant later. He jumped up, eagerly reclaiming his Pokemon, and turned to study a map that was plastered on the wall.
"Now where's the next gym...?" he asked quietly, prodding it with his finger. Obviously there was one in his home town of Lavaridge. "Flannery'd wipe the floor with me, the way I am now." He searched the southern part of the map, noting Petalburg. According to the legend on the side of the map, there was a gym there as well. Soon he'd located the eight Hoenn gyms, and the proper order as well. "Looks like I'm sailing to Dewford Island," he said finally, running a hand through his flaming red hair and stretching.

Flannery chuckled. "It really doesn't bother me what we do or where we go. I just want to shove aside my duties as a leader for a while, and at least pretend I'm a regular, everyday trainer." She fumbled with the pepper shaker as she made a move to put it down, but it slippled, landing with a clatter and spilling pepper all over the table. "Oops," was all she could utter.

"At least your decisive." Mike said in a playful tone, smiling at the girl's cute antics with the pepper shaker. His eyes darted over to the window, taking note of the green grass and the now clear sky. He was glad to be back, the sights, the people, her. He narrowed his eyes contently, a warm smile creeping up on his face. "Nice place..." He said to himself.
"Well, looks like I'm taking out Norman." He rand his fingers through his hair, it was soft.

"Sounds like a plan," Flannery nodded, sweeping up the pepper into her hand, and looking for a place to put it. Her eyes settled on the window nearby, and she quickly dumped it outside, turning back to Mike and pretending to be innocent. "How much longer...?" she sighed, slumping down in her seat. "So. Petalburg, huh?"

"Hmm," Surge muttered as Koffing vanished into the thick green smoke, spinning and laughing. "It's of little consequence." He looked to the small faction of clones, all of them rippling with electricity. "Alright Electrode, let 'er rip! Shock Wave!" he called, pointing into the smog.
Each spherical Pokemon spun on the spot for one second, then the next they were all blasting a deadly volley of unavoidable electricity into the haze.

Giovanni fixed his ascot and ran a comb through his thin hair. The Rocket leader scowled, heading up the stairs toward the outside. With someone breaking into the Viridian Headquaters... he thought, opening the door and walking out, Looks like I need to be there in order to keep things organized. He opened one last door and took a step into the outside world. However, passersby only caught a glimpse as he stepped into a limo parked right outside. Giovanni sat comfortably in the back, one leg propped up over the other and his fingers locked together. "My helicopter is waiting for me at the Lake of Rage. Take me there now," he ordered the driver. There was a nod of understanding and the limo headed off.

Kilik took another step back. Shock Wave?! How fair is that?! he thought, clenching his teeth and his fists. He heard Koffing cry out and there was a thud, signaling that he had fallen to the ground. "Koffing! Get up and attack each one with Sludge!" he commanded. Nothing happened. "Koffing?" There was a bright white light that emitted from the smoke. Kilik shielded his eyes slightly. "What the?" he whispered. The smokescreen disappeared slowly. In the middle of the battle field, rising up from the ground was a newly evolved Weezing.
"Weeeezing!" it bellowed, firing sludge at all of the Electrodes that spun around on the ground.
He did it...he finally evolved. The boy whispered, swallowing the lump in his throat. "All right, Weezing! Let's do this!"

Mai clicked off her phone and stuffed it into her pocket, having left the message on Giovanni's voice mail. She sighed, massaging her temples with her fingers. "It's not even noon yet and it's already been one hell of a day." She grumbled, watching several grunts scurry back and forth, their daily duties and chores on their minds. I used to be just like them, she thought, smiling to herself. She started walking down the hall, stopping at a rather well-concealed elevator, and pressing the switch masked into the wall. A few seconds later, the elevator chimed slightly, and she boarded, closing the doors behind her as she pressed 'B2' on the keypad, as well as her access code.

Surge grinned to himself for a second, before his face became serious again. Evolution will never be anything less than astounding, he thought. Even when it's not even my own Pokemon.
"Try to avoid it!" Surge called, watching many of the clones dissipate almost instantly. He wasn't sure himself if Electrode had been hit, some of the remaining smoke still continued to obscure vision. "Thunder Wave!" the electric master shouted. "Let's go Electrode!"

Giovanni pulled his PokeNav from his pocket, looking at it intently. The blue light on the object was blinking. "Hmm?" he flipped it open and noticed a message. "We've subdued her, sir. What do you want us to do with her, sir?" He smiled at Mai's message.
"I'll decided that when I get there," he laughed. The limo came to a stop and he exited the vehicle, only to step onto the waiting helicopter.

"Koff...Weezing!" Kilik called out, pointing at the new Pokemon, "You're still happy-go-crazy, right?" he asked. The Poison Pokemon spun about in an oddly-executed oval. I'll take that as a yes... he blinked. The Thunder Wave clipped the back end of Weezing; the small head that was attached to his backside.
"Keep up that Sludge attack!" he called out.
