Obaa-chan Hello~! XD I'm a freshman at Firestone High School[Akron,OH], and I play clarinet for marching! Yaaay. Uh... I whack myself in the nose with my mouthpiece while doing horns up/down drills at Band Camp... o_o OH! Story time~! Well, in 7th grade our band director told us to get new mouthpieces and ligatures, to help our sound... so, I did, and it worked, and I was happy especially cause my old one sucks.... but then one day, my clarinet was gone from the cabinet! O_O I looked all over, and found it in the trumpet section.. it was fine, except for the fact that they BROKE my new mouthpiece! crying It made me very sad. I'm still playing on my old one now, cause I can't get a student discount anymore. Well, that was a fun story. Who here chews on new reeds?! *raises hand* biggrin I do,they taste kinda warm..like paper. I eat paper too, but not if it has ink on it. Who here is going to the BOA thingy in Indianapolis? We're planned to go, but I really have no idea what's going on. sweatdrop YAAAY *CHEER* *too enthusiastic*to tell u all the truth,i think new reeds tastes funky, and i no becuz i played clarinet for lik 4 years now and i go 2 shiloh middle school and im in the 7th grade concert band XD and sum ppl make rumors that my band instuctor is gay XD

Blue Roses 3 how hard is it to play the clarinet?? the reason i ask is because currently i play the tenor saxophone (which sometimes plays clarinet music/parts) and am thinking about switching to the clarinet but im not sure because i dont know if its harder to play the clarinet.. i dont really no which is hardr, clarinet or saxiphone, since 1.ive nevr played the tenor sax(even tho there r sum tenor saxes in my class XD)and 2.ive been playing clarinet 4 lik 4 years now and if u practice enough then u get really good X) well if u do switch 2 clarinet then i wish u good luck ^.^

Hey everyone whats up??? I'm new here, and I play clarinet and I played for....(counts on fingers) 4 years and I like band but I hate the songs that my teacher picks because everytime she picks a song it really sucks. Sometimes I hate the clarinet and want to play Baseball with it, lol, but sometimes I love it. And then sometimes I want to just give it away. But I can't because my mom won't let me....... crying lol but whatever...that was the longest runon sentence ever....wait no it wasn't I used periods in various places. wink That means I can pass my language arts test, lol.
ttyl every 1 hope to *see* you soon...

You have to have hte ombrature just so or you can't hit the low notes. I could be mildly biased because I played the clarinet for so much longer, but...pft. So, anyway, I'm Tyrone, solo-bass-clarinetist. And for some reason, I play the bass better with tenor reeds thatn with actuall bass clarinet reeds. Is this weird?

hihi! =] im a junior at Colts neck high School. im in the marching band, concert band, pit band, and choir. i play clarinet and piano and i can play a little flute. i started clarinet in 4th grade and then i played flute 6th and 7th and then clarinet again 8th and on. ive played piano for about two and a half years. i love my crappy plastic clarinet!
OHOHOH! story~! my freshman year, we were walking out to the football field to practice our mad marching skillzzz. and i dropped my clarinet on the hard hard hard asphalt. =O and my my mothpiece chipped and my tone just died and it sounded like crap! >< soo...i played on for the rest of freshman year and sophomore year(unfortunately i only have one so i had to use it for concert band to =[[[[ wink so i finally get a new one at the beginning of this school year and half way through the marching season, after getting off the bus after a district marching festival, my friend picked up my case to bring my clarinet to me, and of course my case is a piece of crap and the latches dont always stay closed, and my clarinet fell out! ='[ and chipped my brand new mouth piece. so i had to go through playing with it for another half a seaon on concert band. =[ but now i got a new mothpiece for concert band and it is amazing! =DDDD and now im soo happy. yayyyyyy~! =]]
mmk. enough hyperness and ranting..=]
