"Yes, but is there anywhere you want to go besides the plantation?"

She didn't know how well Miyuki would do, but she was sure if they had horses it would least give her a chance to rest. Lin, despite it all still wanted to travel, and she didn't know yet if that was possible with Miyuki because they had been spoiled with the rides on Skyel.

Earendil smiled sheepishly. "To be honest, there's not much else to see in the Southland," he admitted. "We could always visit Arwen and Roydon again, I'm sure they would love that. And we could see how Celeb is doing ... but other than that there really isn't much to see at all."

This was true, especially since they had seen the Southland.

"Well...." she murmured, "We could always go and visit Arwen and Roydon. Besides, it seems we have catching up to do yet again."

Now that so many things have happened.

"Or after wards we can simply head back and plan for a different trip for the future."

"That would work," Earendil smiled. "We've yet to see the Westland and Northland ... though I wouldn't recommend the Northland until Miyuki is older."

He wasn't sure exactly how fast she would grow, but the Northland required that she at least know enough to hide herself in case something happened.

Lin nodded at this, she was going to have to agree with that assessment. She wouldn't want to take Miyuki to the Northland unless she knew there was a way to keep Miyuki safe.

"Westland then... it'll be interesting."

She had never stepped foot in the Westland which was the only elven nation she hadn't seen.

"For you and me both," Earendil grinned. "I've never been there either. Though you've met my cousin, Wren, yes? That's where she's from."

The land of the Light Elves ... and many of them had not changed in several thousand years, and were very much like the ones that Aerin's people had left. Well, at least they were tolerant of others now. Mostly.

Lin nodded at this, "I remember Wren."

Though it had been a long time by now no doubt. She wondered if Wren had found anyone, or if she was... well actually Lin didn't know what Wren spent her time doing.

"I first met her at Elnara and Lore's wedding and then again on one of my other visits. Do you know how she's doing these days?"

"She was here earlier this year," Haradhel offered. "Came to check up on Shiara."

Shiara was sitting at the far end of the table with Ahren, but at the sound of her name she looked up. "Did you need something?" she asked Haradhel softly.

Haradhel smiled. "No. We were just saying how Wren came here this summer to see how you were doing. Lin's wondering how she is."

Shiara smiled softly. "She is very kind," she murmured. "She was doing quite well when she was here."

Lin smiled brightly, "That's good to know. It's been a very long time since I've last seen her."

It was also good to know that Shiara had found more people to befriend.

Miyuki let out a long yawn and she rubbed her eyes while still clutching tightly her new doll.

"Looks like someone's finally ready for bed," Earendil murmured, reaching over to stroke Miyuki's hair gently. "But it's been a long day for all of us."

"Agreed," Haradhel spoke up. "You all get yourselves to bed, I'll clean up and such."

"Alright," Lin smiled as she looked over to Miyuki.

It was one of the very, very few times she had seen Miyuki tired before bed time, but she didn't think Miyuki had taken a nap at all today. Which might explain it.

"Come on Miyuki, time for bed."

"Bed?"

Earendil chuckled. "Bed," he grinned. "Time to sleep!"

He rose from his seat and smiled at Haradhel. "Thank you for the meal, it was very good."

"Anytime," Haradhel grinned back. "Good night."

"Good night." Earendil stepped out of the way, then smiled at Lin. "After you."

"Good night," Lin murmured as she picked Miyuki up.

Miyuki blinked and looked at Earendil and looked at her mother before looking at Haradhel.

"Goo nit."

Lin giggled at that as she carried Miyuki to their room.

The weeks passed one after the other, and the snow came ... and came and came. For about one day, they were just about snowed in, until Haradhel used her fire magic to melt the snow around the ranch and make things easier for them. For the most part, there were many forts and snowmen made, and even a few snowball fights.

Then, after twelve long weeks, came stirring. The snows began to melt as the days grew warmer, and buds began to appear on the trees. But as the weather continued to improve, Haldia seemed to grow more and more distant from any of the others ... even Kelirahc.

Then, three weeks into stirring, the day came when Haldia announced her intention to leave the following morning. She had been silent at breakfast, and after breakfast, when she had joined Lin, Earendil, Leyenda and Kelirahc outside, she was quiet until Earendil asked her what she was thinking.

"I must ... home go," she told him softly, her golden eyes troubled. Her lessons with Earendil had been going well, but she still had difficulty with the word order when she spoke the common tongue. "I family have who missing me are."

"Home?" Miyuki blinked up at Haldia, "Home here!"

Miyuki probably had the easiest time understanding Haldia, but that was because word order wasn't quite set in stone yet. Not that Miyuki seemed to have any trouble with word order but as Lin had found out trying to talk to Miyuki in other languages, she was still flexible enough to learn.

Lin winced, Miyuki had been traveling with her since she was a baby, which meant even Miyuki's sense of home was a bit skewed.

"This isn't home Miyuki... not for Haldia, and not for us neither."

Maybe it was time to take Miyuki home as well....
