Speaking of Galvan, what still needs to be done for 2? Can I help somehow? *shiny eyes* *v*

Hello, everyone. My name's KuraiKitty, but feel free to mince and hack the name to pieces if you find it's too much of a hassle to type. :3

I've been a member of Gaia since May '04, am an avid graphite artist, and have role played for the majority of my Gaian career. Admittedly, I started out as semi-lit, but quickly crawled out of that mire before it sucked me in too deep- I didn't think it was engaging enough.

Oh, and my number one pet peeve are the n00bs in Barton Town. Thank goodness for literate guilds. :3

RavingGale invited me here, and I hope to be of some use. I also have a guide to role playing, but I doubt you guys have any use for it. XD

Welcome KuraiKitty!
Wow. I'm usually not the first person to do this.
Um... 'Ello.

Good lord. I just took a glimpse at the RP you made, KuraiKitty, and it makes me cry on the inside at how much better some people are at writing than I am.

Aww, shucks. ^^'' Literally, practice makes perfect. I've been at this for only two years, and look at me now! :3

Just get a role model, try to match their posts, and then try to exceed their quality and quantity at the same time with consistency. That is how you get better. :3

I've been at it for about two years, on and off.
Never was much if a writer, though.
In fact, I hate writing, oddly enough.
A role model might be a good idea, though.
I know I need to expand my vocabulary. I'm bad at using the same words repeatedly.

Trying to get better by yourself gets you nowhere, trust me. :/ I was out of the RPing scene for a bit, came back, still confident as ever, and realized that my skills had atrophied like the muscles on a broken leg. x.x

I got back into it because of said role models. :3

I personally love writing, and I'm always looking to expand my horizons and vocabulary. I went so far as to scrutinize what I've done in the past, to see if actions I've taken are anatomically possible (slashing the spinotrapezius, for example, prevents the movement of the arm. :p).

Psychology is also a good course to take when deciding how characters react in different situations. Be introspective, react to others, and you'll find you'll have written something far more interesting that one or the other could have ever done alone. :p

Sounds reasonable enough to me.
And I have no idea what a spinotrapezius is, but I'll keep that in mind. >_>

*looks at the roleplay, as well, and blinks rapidly*

The only way I got to going from where I had been, and where I am now, is just joining a bunch of different roleplays, sometimes with different people, and just continuously roleplaying for the amount of time I've been, well, roleplaying...
*shrugs, and sortof doesnt make sense to herself, but doesn't care*

It's one of two muscles that spreads across your back, from your spine to your shoulder. When it contracts, your shoulder (and, consequently, your arm) move backwards. Try moving one arm back while using your other hand to feel the muscle just behind it- you'll feel it bunch up.

You can't swing a sword if you can't move your arm back beforehand, otherwise you lack the necessary momentum to carry out a full weapon swing. It'd be no more effective than dropping your weapon on whoever you were attacking. xD

Along those lines, though, if your kneecaps are ever busted, you aren't going to walk again. Not properly, anyways. :p

You mean dropping weapons on people is an ineffective method of attack?
Jeeze, have I been doing it wrong all these years.
=D
PostPosted: Wed Feb 28, 2007 6:57 pm

Hammers, stones, and other heavy stuff are more effective when dropped, I'll admit that. xD

So, yeah. If you want to do lots of damage, hit to sever the muscles in the shoulder and the thigh. If those fail, so does everything below that point. :p You lose the pivoting ability of the shoulder, which is necessary for aim, or the ability to stand. Whichever you prefer. :p
