The Darth Vizzle
Tac said, in a post before the matches ended, that he'd be gone for a few days.

So go figure.

Seeing as how whether I win or lose doesn't matter because I won't touch the loser's bracket, I can judge if need be, because I won't be in it anyways - I either get first or second, so I'm technically "separated" from that set of fighters now and who wins/loses has no bearing on me.

From another thread.

If Tac doesn't show up, let me judge.

Depends on which judge you ask.

You'll get different answers accordingly.

I spent the entire fight, Chasing the guy through the forest.

I did the most damage I think.

My post were clear and concise

I was the most aggressive

and the guy spammed like one spike power the whole match. How is that entertaining vs. me doing parkour in the 100 acer woods?

You can also look at it this way.

This guy's character can't take yours in a straight up fight, because his is a mandolin playing bard.. and yours is like some sort of super-Olympiad extremist packed into a seventeen year old body. So it's not that you're chasing him-- it's that he's leading you. He can't stand toe to toe, so he's forcing you to chase him while he leads you into a trap.

His character is actually wearing some light-weight armor, which could easily be stated as being enough to divert something like a throwing knife. But he takes the hit, a purposeful sacrifice so as to not interrupt his playing. Where as your character.. basically just breaks the stone attacks, and what damage he does take is minimal. Stone, last I checked, is pretty ******** hard. Magic'd up or no, a pointed piece of stone should have done something to your character other than shattering on his armor or rock hard abs.

To be honest, I don't really think the fighting was entertaining from either angle. But I do think he had some sort of game plan for his powers.

Could you have won the fight? Yeah, probably. But the entire fight up until the last post was a war of attrition - who could last longer. And fact of the matter is, if he could keep his distance, he was going to win that war because he had the abilities available to him to do so. If Tres had forced him into a prolonged melee fight, I think it would of been judged in your favor.

EDIT:: And for the record, I'm not saying you were worse than he was. To be honest, I don't think the fight was the best display shown for either of you. Then again, the environment was also sort of wonky too.

I agree that the fight was pretty bad, but there wasn't a whole lot else I could do other than chase the guy using the thing that I had.

So I guess I see were your coming from.

Though my alternative to chasing was not chasing and that would just mean he would be able to sprout stalagmites until I die.

That was all and all a bad match up, there was no edge or end to that forest to stop him from running.

I agree with this statement. The arena was some what weird and even worst Tres as a character is just a power house of melee form to which my character would stand little chance of surviving someone who can break solid stone.

I am not the biggest fan of just evasion but I lost my first match from being ignorant about how my characters powers should work. So I adjusted that and fought a similar character type. But thats the way that fight goes no matter how you look at it. It's a battle of range for caster vs warrior.

I wasn't trying to be cheap in my tactics but rather I really saw no other choice but to be as evasive as possible (thus the two elements I chose when I got the energy.) To say I got hit in the jaw by your character and simply shook it off would seem insulting to me.

In all honesty--

You were in a forest. Your character is pretty strong.

He could have hefted up a rock, or broken down a sapling for an impromptu spear or long club.

Not saying it would have worked, but it would have helped break up the "I chase and try to punch" "Well I evade and try to find ways to trap you."

Then again, when some guy is throwing stone spikes at you, grabbing a tree to use against him might not be the highest priority xd

On the bright side, most users in the wood fight had an advantage over the use of earth/wood elements.

I have ice and water.
....
The last match was hard fought to the end, especially with pudding bullets and explosive needles. Plus hard defense.

Now I just have to wait for this round to end to get on with my own.

If Vin will let me, I'd like to judge this round as well, unless Tac wants to (if he's back, I dunno if his 'puter is stable again or what).

Also, voting for these matches ought to be quick, since Dyne cut out with Murdoch ( sad ). That really only leaves one match to be judged, and it probably won't take too long. If one of them gets a definite win, it'll take even less time xd

That was unexpected from Dyne.
