"Saiya," she returned, snarfing down the piece that fell on her. She stopped long enough to give him a Look out of the corner of her eye. With capitalization. "Not that it's any of my business, but...why are you eating pizza on a rooftop, anyways?"

"Charmed," she said drily, giving him a similar once-over. "Mind if I join you? It's the least you can do after throwing pizza at me." Not waiting for him to reply, she settled down on the tiled roof. "So, why are you--" she gestured in his direction with her free hand, "--in Latent?"

"Fighting? At the Stadium?" she asked, suddenly intrigued. "You work there or what?" She leaned back, re-evaluating him. Saiya purposely avoided the other question. It was embarrassing, to say the least.

She shrugged lightly. "I was thinking about it--going to the Stadium to try my luck, I mean--but I don't know, now. I've been in my fair share of scraps, but most of them didn't have rules. You hit where you could and when you could, as hard as you could, and all spectators can go to hell. That was back in Strata, of course..." she shrugged again and grinned sheepishly. "Money goes a lot faster here than I thought it would. I'm having a hard time keeping my head above water, actually. But you--how old d'you have to be to enter some of those tournaments?"

She gave him a Deeply Suspicious Look. "I'm not that type of girl, if that's what you're thinking. First off, I don't have a place to stay--at least not officially. I've been using one of the unoccupied apartments over on the northeast side of town, but I don't exactly know Latent like the back of my hand and until I can get my bearings I've been working on-and-off at a coffee house. It's not really bad, just...uncertain. I don't know the town like I should, in case I ever get in trouble. It's worrying." She finished her slice of pizza and drew her knees up against herself with a happy little sigh.

Saiya frowned slightly, then shook her head briskly. "Strata is the only town I do know. And...I kind of want a fresh start, y'know? I knew how to get around...um...obstacles in Strata, but I wasn't going around those obstacles for a really good cause. And while I don't have a really good cause now--nor do I want one--it's easier than looking over your shoulder all the time. So. Go to another town, break old habits, make a proper life--maybe. Plus--" she grinned, guiltily, "I kind of wanted to see all of the people that they're constantly following on TV. News Flash!" she spread her hands and lifted them up, "So and so, the hero of blahbitty blah, winner of the dah-dah-dah tournament and champion of blah, has been spotted near blah-blah-blah with...anyways, you get my point." She dropped her hands.

She blinked at him. "I don't know that I could. I'm definitely not the strongest out there. I'd get pulverized. Ha--the only way I'd make the news is in the obituaries."

"Classy," she said drily. "I'd rather keep my face off Gaia's Most Wanted, thank-you-very-much. Daylight robberies are a pain, or so I'm told."
