From far away, Peek-A-Boo chuckled, pleased with his maze-making skills. It had almost tricked the newly-made ghost up! Almost. Though it had a fair clip of time, Alex would find himself faced with... himself. Or rather, his body. t lay on an upraised wooden platform, surrounded by glowing pumpkins... and a couple friendly Pumpkaboo, who stood guard. From an outsider's perspective, it merely seemed like Alex was locked in a deep, sickly sleep, perhaps recovering from an illness. The body's breathing was worryingly slow, the skin icy pale, but it didn't seem being separated from its soul had incurred any lasting damage, fortunately.
>Well, well, well!< From above the amaze floated down the Gourgeist, who would come to a hovering stop just over Alex's body. >You took your time, didn't you? Stopped to smell the pumpkin flowers, I presume.< The Pumpkaboo below him chattered curiously, but Peek-a-boo only had eyes for Hiro. >As promised, you found the center of the maze, so I'll return you to your body. Go float over to yourself, and I'll give you a hand< The Gourgeist would pause, tilting his head to the side and giving the trainer a strange grin. >Are you certain you wouldn't like to stay here with me? You did tarry quite a bit...<
The fight was quickly being left behind as the mist parted to show him not only the beach but the water beyond. They were pretty much out of that place, and he was happy to see that the way home lay just a few feet away.
A big smile was on his face as the little pokemon would snuggle closer to him. Something about the big ocean and the waves started to make her nervous. Water water everywhere and her instincts were screaming at her to stay away.
Though her trainer didn't seem phase by it so maybe it was just her. Then again, maybe it wasn't.
Phew, he'd made it in time... The center was quite active. His body looked fine for the most part, which was good. It wasn't like he was on a stroll, he had to get used to flying and rush through the maze. He floated over as instructed, but it was a weird feeling looking at himself from the outside. He seldom used mirrors, let alone. "I've still got a dream to strive for. Maybe someday I'll come back, though."
Karasu would arrive back on the island after an Abra had latched onto his leg holding onto Koga as well. The shinobi boy would watch as the pokemon waved and then left. They were in a spot that was familiar. It would seem the pair were back in the bog once more. Looking at the lily pads, the boy would start to move forward. The mission was just beginning. They still had much to do before they could leave the island.
Koga was almost disappointed the Lapras was no longer here. Now the water pokemon wouldn't have such an easy battle against the metal bird. Flying to follow Karasu, the bird started down the path leading across the water.

Whether they sensed that Koga had gotten stronger then before or no one was around, the area remained fairly quiet. The boy would scan his gaze over everything cautiously before creeping silently forward. Just because they were back and stronger then before didn't mean they shouldn't stay alert. The boy kept his face expressionless as they continued to move forward.
While Karasu paid attention to the path, the Skarmory would take time to head upward trying to keep better track of what they could possibly be approaching or hiding in the water. The bird's keen gaze was trying to scan the area and take in every small detail.

Everything went white, and when Alex came to, he'd find himself on the rock where he'd been captured. He was safe from Peek-A-Boo, for now.

Alice watched the Relicanth with a glittering light in her eyes. Such grace! Such class! Clearly, this was a more sophisticated Pokemon from a more civilized age. With a bit of maneuvering, she'd switch Vorpal out for Maddie, ignoring the Blitzle's angry squawks about water and mud. "Prepare to fight, darling," she ordered in a gentle but surprisingly effective voice. But she hadn't traded over the Seed of Experience... no, she was hoping that she could catch this curious creature. But she'd have to be careful...
>WHY IS THE WATER ON THE GROUND?< Maddie wailed, stomping her hooves in horror. >WATER'S SUPPOSED TO FALL OUT OF THE SKY. WHAT DEVILRY IS THIS?!< She waggled a hoof at the Relicanth, deciding it must have been his fault. >FIX THE WATER.<

He blinked and began to say 'Wait, what?', but was cut off before being able to finish. Shoved into his body, he woke up back where he was before this started. He wondered with a shiver what could have ended up happening had he not gotten out when he did, but instead proceeded forward.
Zander and Tony seemed to be losing the battle thus far. Luck didn't seem to be on their side today. Tony landed a hit but it seemed to do no damage against the Ledyba. However, they could still go on..at least for a little longer. Zander didn't want to be defeated so soon. "Tony! Try to dodge that attack by using your light weight to float high up! Zander commanded.
Tony was devastated after that failed hit. Still this was no time to let emotions come into play, he needed to survive! Tony tried his hardest to dodge the incoming tackle from the Ledyba who seemed to be enjoying herself.

Ledyba missed!
The Ledyba groaned grumpily- she'd missed, but only barely. She gave an exaggerated pout, which quickly turned back into her wide grin. Sucked that she hadn't hit, buuuuuut there was no need to get too upset! This was still pretty fun. Giggling, she soared off into the air. The bug winked right at Tony as she fluttered past. Would this dodge work?
As Alex drew closer to the center of the island, he'd find the sounds of the island had faded away. Whatever lurked within the crater kept the Pokemon as far away as possible. Or perhaps they couldn't get past the thing that stood brazenly in front of him. A massive barrier of steep stone loomed before him imposingly, casting a shadow over the path. Unlike the other rocks, this particularly hill rose up from the watery depths below. Insurmountable, unassailable, possibly unpassable-- it seemed Alex was faced with another roadblock... - rumble rumble rUMBLE CRAAAACK -
Well, there was good news. In a frightening burst of noise and action, a massive ruddy claw rent the hill in twain. Under the forceful fury, the edifice shattered... so there wasn't anything blocking Alex from the center.
The bad news? A Groudon stood on a craggy outcropping, yellow eyes wide and furious. Lava dripped down by its feet, heating the air around the center. >So you feel like fighting legendaries, eh?< it snarled, staring down at Alex. The creature practically radiated fury, lashing his tail back and forth. >We've heard what you've done... the air and energy of the world sings it.< It snorted, jets of steam bursting from its nose. >Or so that one said... I don't care about all that, really. I care about a good fight... a good, one-on-one fight.< It lurched forward, slamming his claws onto the ground around Alex. It leered, gnashing its teeth. >Let's go, coward. You'll find me a better fight than a broken Mew!< Given Alex didn't have any Pokemon out, this speech was fairly unintelligible... but from the loud roaring, the challenge was pretty clear.

Continuing forward, the atmosphere changed. There were no pokemon in the area, and it was eerily quiet. What he'd soon see would explain why. Seeing the large pokemon reveal itself with anger, Alex's eyes widened. Groudon. "You've gotta be kidding me..." Not only were both his pokemon weak to ground types, this thing was much stronger than a Sudowoodo, and Pansear wasn't even able to dent that. The only reason they could defeat the Mew before was by teamwork and the Mew using transform to go into weaker forms. There was no way his pokemon would survive this fight. Did the Gourgeist know about this? He had to escape. It was the only way he and his team would survive, or else he'd end up back with the ghost pumpkins for good...
Not to surprisingly the Lotad took a bit of offense to the Shinx's comments. After all he was a rude dude with plenty of tude! A bodacious badass in the bog! No wet behind the ears hairball was gonna downplay his cool factor! As if trying to prove a point, the Lotad would rise onto his stubby back legs through the power of sheer coolness. Then with a twist and a slip, the Grass-type would begin doing something which should have been impossible given the shape of his body matched with the shortness of his limbs. He'd start break-dancing! Truly an Astonish-ing sight! So much so that perhaps the Shinx would fail to notice, as the Lotad began spinning on his beak, that he was getting pretty close to smacking the Shinx in the side of the head!
Reaching the end of the trail, Shiloh would find exaggeratedly old Magikarp that had brought him here and the leaky canoe. Amazingly both were still floating. Loosing a small snot bubble from wherever it's nose was, Shiloh's approach would startle the Pokemon to wakefulness. Sadly this was not a good thing. ">Flbbwaaah!? Lemon....Salt...TARTER SAUCE!<" Flopping around in a panic the well aged Pokemon would suddenly glow brightly, his body elongating as a terrible roar filled the air. The young trainer would be witness to his ride evolving into a Gyarados....yet still hitched to the canoe, it seemed intent on sticking to it's job. It would seem Shiloh was in for one hell of a bumpy ride back to the Academy!
">Eeeh? Wazzat girlie?<" The Relicanth called out roughly, shifting his bulk in order to turn what passed for his ears towards the Blitzle ">Sky's a fallin'? Well iffin' the sky's down, ground's gotta go up!<" The old....and potentially senile...Relicanth would declare. Diving off the side of the pathway a moment later, the ancient fish would begin tossing up mud from the bottom of the bog high into the air and causing it to rain over the path! Despite all sense and logic, the ancient Guardian was counter-attacking right off the hop with Mud Sport!
