San stumbled slightly at the sound of sage mode from Ayame's lips, and first wanted to question how and where she had even heard the name. He had never really explained what he did when he entered the "Super Sannin" state only that he was capable of it.

San shook his head. The answer was simple, but difficult to find.

San gave a nod, and motioned for her to follow him into one of the isolated training chambers. While here, he would sit on the floor, and but his hands in an unusual hand seal.

San silently removed a stick from his bag. as he got back to his feet.

"Close your eyes ayame, and open your heart. When the body is still the spirit and mind are in motion. think of opening the valve...."

Thwack! She had opened the valve a little too much, and the petrification process had begun. It may not seem like it, but he had just saved her from a horrible death.
