Vii hopped unsteadily to where Bonnie sat and tucked her tail between her back legs.
"For a second I thought they might be after me." She commented on the mob long since gone.
"I do believe it was a werewolf, as I have been having some pretty strange urges lately and now my hands have these on them." She pulled off her glove and bracelets to show Bonnie the rough black pads that had formed on her fingers and palm and there now seemed to be a web of thick skin that connected each of her stubby little fingers.
"It's getting worse. I was bitten by a dog, or a wolf, so apparently that is what I will eventually be. It's ok with me I guess. as long as I can change back." Her ears pinned back to her head for a moment and Vii scanned the Vestal for signs that the wolf had returned.
"How did you get changed back from a Shark, Bonnie?" She asked returning her attention to the girl. Being on her hind legs was becoming increasingly more difficult to balance and the more still she stood the more she could feel her spine contracting very slowly. The wolf girl made a face that looked more like panic and curiosity than excitement, but that was all she could manage to feel. With a hop she leaned against a bar height table for support resting her jaw on her hand and an elbow on the top of the gnarled wood.

The Imperator walked into the Tavern, a bit disappointed with the results of the Cult War. Not because his faction lost, but because he felt like he had been deceived. Ah well, a few beers would get rid of it.

However, Kaok's home world wasn't being overrun by darkness, so it wasn't so bad. Remus had also managed to lead the mob that was chasing Emma into the woods. He led them in circles for three hours before sneaking off with his automatons. For all he knew, they were still in the woods. The Imperator posted his guards and ordered a beer.

"The stuff wore off," Bonnie answered Vii simply. "I at least had the good sense not to use all of it in one go or I'd probably be swimming around in a reef somewhere."

Bonnie eyed the knew developments on Vii's hands. So she was still changing? She knitted her brows in concern.

"If you do change all the way, you'll still be you inside, right?" she said "I mean besides the strange urges you were talking about, you've still got your wits about you. Thats good isn't it?"

Spent my days with a woman unkind,
Smoked my stuff and drank all my wine.
Made up my mind to make a new start,
Going to california with an aching in my heart.

Yes, Kaok's home world wasn't overrun by darkness, and she supposed she should be happy for that. But... damn that Jack! She had given all her energy to this war, was nearly beaten to death by a bunch of angry SIN cultists and... she had almost bought into this demi-god business. It was the first time that she had come marginally close to having something to believe in - and only to find that it was all just a game!

The Lieutenant wordlessly trudged into the Waning Vestal, now, and silently took up a seat by the bar. She tried her best to remain calm and tranquil, but her hands shook as they sat on the counter, balled into fists.

Remus could see that Kaok looked angry. She had every right to be, considering she and most of the inhabitants of Gaia had been played like a flute, including Remus and his vast Empire.

The Imperator turned to the Lieutenant. "You look like you could use a drink." he said to her.

Vii Star sipped her black cherry smirnoff and smiled toothily at Bonnie. She was so happy that the alcohol tasted terrible instead of like sand or ash that she was becoming slightly drunk.
"I don't know, honestly I hope so, I would hate to lash out and do something terrible to someone. I haven't had any violent urges, but I have done a lot of things out of not-instinctual instincts. Gah! I just can't be normal." She pouted with the the closest form of puppy dog eyes you could find on a humanoid covered in fur.

The Lieutenant glanced at Remus. His efforts had been great as well, investing so much into this sham only to find out that he'd been played. She attempted to not appear so mad as she felt, but it was hard for her to suppress.

"I probably could," said the Faun, voice almost a whisper, for fear that she would raise her voice too high.

Remus managed a smile, though it was a bit forced. He ordered Kaok a drink and he lifted his glass.

"Here's to the end of a pointless war!" Remus then downed his beer in a rather massive gulp before slamming his glass back down on the counter.

"Weeell," Bonnie said smiling, with a quick pat on Vii's back. "That just means your like pretty much everyone else here."

Bonnie snickered a little and took a sip from her drink.

The Faun tried to reciprocate the forced smile gesture, but it ended up looking awkward so she took a sip of the drink. She didn't even bother to do her usual 'just what kind of drink do you mean' thing.

"Sometimes I wish I could bring myself to be an isolationist, rather than get caught up in all of this nonsense."

The Imperator nodded, but he didn't agree. "Isolationism often leads to getting sucker punched later on though."

Remus ordered another drink. "But at the same time, it is better to avoid pointless quarrels."

There was a whisper of cloth from a corner of the tavern, and a form settled into a booth as if laid there.

Emma gave a murmur of discomfort as she felt herself transported, but was too tired to do anything about it.

Grey entered the bar, scowling somewhat. He ordered his usual coffee and sipped it quietly. "Last time I fight in a cult war that takes place outside of this solar system."

"I agree." Kaok nodded.

"Yet here we still beat others senseless without any reason in the Battledome."

Alright, so she had a reason sometimes. It was occasionally to teach a lesson to one who needed it. And there were some who needed it desperately.

Lightning quite literally stormed into the tavern, unable to leave her cloud at the entrance. The blasted thing had been following her around all day, and even the strongest gust wouldn't blow it away. On top of that, she had lost her beloved rapier. Things weren't going so well. "At least I didn't grow wings or anything," muttered Lightning as she asked for a cup of tea, taking her seat in front of the counter.
