Rio acted while they were still walking. Three of his opponets were of unknown streanght, Ano should be avoided in his condition but Ghan, though subtle and though in his own way, wa also predictable. He jumped and pulled his legs though his arms so that his hands were in front of him. Then he quickly drew Ghan's strange yellow tipped sword from his hip and made a small incision up his ribs.
Ghan's shout of pain and quick collapse startled the others, but Rio couldn't risk attacking another. He ran to the edge of the building a jumped - right on top of Cheoro.
"What the bloody hell?" he muttered, trying to distangle himself.

"What the--Rio!" Kara said, shocked. Hearing the swearing and shouts from the rooftop cleared her head, and she quickly stepped forward, dragging Rio to his feet by his uninjured arm. She glanced up at the rooftop, her gun in her free hand.
"C'mon, let's go!" She said, pushing Rio and Chris in front of her as Cheoro scrambled to his feet.

Rio, however, could not run and tripped over himself after only a few steps. He stuggled back to his feet and jogged around the corner - and back into the shop. The other four would jump off the roof as he had done and they wouldn't dream of them coming in here. Besides he wanted to check something.
He moved frantic, though energeticless, motions for them to follow him in before they could catch up.

Kara nodded as Rio motioned for them to follow him in the shop. She motioned for he and Chris to go inside, then helped Cheoro inside before shutting the door. Barely three heartbeats after she had shut the door softly, she heard clattering on the boxes and shouts as Rio's former captors started searching for them.
She gave a sigh of relief and looked around the bookshop. She'd never been big on reading as a kid. At least, not after the Yoan had invaded. She shook away the thoughts and looked around the bookshelves, one hand resting on her holstered gun casually. She walked over to Rio.
"Are you alright?" She whispered, her eyes travelling over the many bruises he had and the blood running down his arm.

"You know, you could have warned me about jumping off, before you landed on me." Cheoro said with a smile, than looked over at Kara. "Thanks for helping me up back there."

"I'm fine," Rio answered, though not entirely truthfully. He was well beaten, but he has had much worse.
He watched between the bookcases and saw three of them men seperate to search the city. He relaxed and stood all the way. Then, unaware of how strange his action might be, started looking among the book written in the anicient mode of Mauchi. He understood little of it, but what he gleamed from Priestist might be sufficent to study ...

Chris looked at Rio and said with a hint of confusion in his voice, " Im glad that your safe Rio. What happened to my brother, Did he try to kill you like he tried me?" There was a brief moment of silence in the group.

Rio waved his hand as if the question was of no importance. He tossed aside the first book and drew out another, dusty volume and peeled it open in the front. Maybe ... no. He set it aside as well.

"Damn it!" he swore loudly in English and tossed aside another book. They had been in the book shop for nearly an hour and they would be coming back soon. Rio didn't have much longer.
He pulled another volume off the shelf. He stared at the title and gave a small yelp.
"Yes, I think this is it!" he said excitely, hardly noticing his language.
He looked at the large volume and dug for his wallet. He wouldn't steal if he could avoid it so he laid two hundred notes* down. He believe that covered the cost of the book. Then he stood.
"Okay, let's get out of town," he said. "But not back to the Septra; they would have covered that by now."
*roughly a hundred English pounds or roughly two hundered American dollars.

"Rio..." Kara said as he cursed in another language. They had been here too long, she knew. The last thing they needed right now was to be caught again. She jumped as he suddenly gave a yelp and started jabbering in a jumbled mixture of Yoan, Grutain, and Machi. She looked at him in surprise as he paid for it.
"What are you..." She started to ask, as Rio suggested they leave, apparently not hearing her. She sighed nodded, motioning for Chris and Cheoro to come over.
"So do you have a place in mind? I don't think we should go back to the Septra either. Mon-Ama will be alright on her own, I imagine."

"Mon-Ama?" asked Rio, bewlidered and just now realising that she wasn't there. "Hm, well she was in a navy so I imagine she'll be alright. I'm just worried about that prisoner; how is she suppose to drag him along as well?"
Desprate to get out and somewhere safe to read the book, Rio headed for the door - and tripped. He blacked out before he had hit the ground.

Kara gave a soft curse in Grutain as Rio hit the ground, unconsious. The book he bought flew out of his hand and skidded towards Kara. She picked it up and stowed in the small bag she kept with her without looking at it.
Quickly moving over to the fallen Rio, she checked his pulse and breathing. His pulse was a bit slower than she'd have liked, but he'd live. Assuming they patched up his arm. Motioning for Chris and Cheoro to pick up Rio, who was too heavy for her, she straightened, smiling at the confused storekeep.
"Too much to drink." She told him, shaking her head at Rio. "He never could hold his liquor." The storekeep shook his head and smiled, and Kara laughed at her joke, inwardly giving a huge sigh of relief as the man went back to his charts.

Chris looked at Kara and said, " Ok, Rio has passed out from bloodloss. Where are we suppoused to go now? I mean, It isnt like there is a haven on Yoan for us to hide in unless it was a curch in which i am not very good with priests. I mean, I could patch up Rio's arm. But it would take a hour." Chris then wipe the sweat from his forehead.
