Alriku ((i don't think you understood it when i said "i would have to disagree with its use in a setting like this where the rp is heavily driven by a plot/story". just because i said i think it's a good idea to use dice in a point-based system doesn't mean i'm saying that i'll agree to play along if you try change this story-based rp into a point-based system. in short: i'm not going to use your dice rolling game. it just destroys the story flow. you can continue rolling dice if you like, but i will determine whether or not your attacks damage my rpc. the next time you try to use the dice system, please ask the other person/people if it is okay with them before you start using it. if we do a tourni against each other in the future, i will agree to using the dice system. i just don't want to use dice here in the main rp. and before going on...what's an oponitsmaing? @A@? i'm taking that's your rpc's weapon..but i just want to make sure before i type a reply to your rpc's actions ^^")) no i just got retarted on the keybord there what i ment was oponit smashing into the ground behind you but you desiding if my attacks hit or not is godmoding we need to use the dice just for this battle

((what i am doing is not considered god-moding. god-moding includes things such as auto-hitting which is the most common, or constant healing/immortality, not taking any damage despite what the opponent does, etc. the method i am using is widely used by experienced rp-ers. you can look at any of the rp's and see that i am following the same method that everyone else uses in those rp's. each person decides when their characters get damaged, when they dodge/evade, run, or any use of battle tactics, but they rarely if ever show a use of invincibility. so dice, in my opinion, are not necessary so long as the rp-ers are aware of their own characters limitations. i will use the traditional method in the story-based rp's. and as you have seen, my character received damage already---and that wasn't due to the dice you rolled...i just did that because it wouldn't have made sense if i made my rpc dodge all of your rpc's attacks since kivay does not have super speed, and especially since she was standing too close to kit.
i wouldn't mind using it just 'once' in the main rp thread. however, 'all' people involved in the battle should make a decision on whether or not to use it. kusanagi is also involved in this battle so he will also have to give a 'go' or 'no go' decision since he plays by the same traditional rp method that i am using. until then, i will continue using the traditional method.
and~lol xD . at least yours is easily fixable. my keyboard gets retarded when i'm not looking, and i have to shut my computer off just to fix it ;A; ))
Kivay watched as Kit flew above her and then miss her completely, despite being such a large target. Now she didn't know whether Kit was just messing with her head or if Kit just had incredibly bad luck at that moment. Either way, she stared at Kit questioningly and smirked, "That is awfully funny what you did there."
She could feel her fur being weighed down by the blood that was coming out of the cuts. The sensation of wet fur has always bugged her, but even more so she knew if the wounds were to remain untreated that she would lose too much blood and put herself in severe trouble. She figured she needed to make the battle move more quickly, and so she lifted her tail and swung it down towards Kit with enough force to break enough bones to leave her opponent close to being disabled.

Kivay hissed and pulled her tail back in. The fur was thicker around her tail, so she used it as a shield against Kit's attack. Ultimately her tail winded up getting one massive hair cut that Kivay did not want, "That's...I'll get you back for that!"
Three spines grew out of the tip of her tail, and then were shot towards Kit.

((hold it---what you just typed was a perfect example of auto-hitting (that's where you land an attack/spell/etc. on your opponent without giving them a chance to react). you're going to have to either re-type that or delete it.))

((oh! ok. but you made it sound like it dealt damage to my character without giving her a chance to defend. if you want to type up what the attack's effects are then that's fine, but you need to make it clear that the damage would have only happened if the attack were to succeed. so you need to say something like, "if so and so attack had been executed, it would have done this.." rather than something like "she made her move and the attack sliced her opponent into tiny pieces" for example. the latter part of the example is considered god-moding.))
Kivay was able to evade the first round of attacks that Kit unleashed, swinging herself sideways and looking towards the sky to get a view of where her opponent was. She grew spines out in the areas that would have received the later slashes to avoid getting damaged by them. Kivay expected to deal with another onslaught of Kit's sword slashes, but found that instead Kit had changed her mode of attack. The speed of the change surprised Kivay, and she found that the blades had pierced deeply into her shoulders. Kivay roared in agony.
She wheeled her head around and snapped her jaws towards Kit in an attempt to kill her for good, but she knew that Kit was able to move more quickly than her. Kivay also readied her tail to slam against Kit if Kit were to avoid her first attack. It was at that time that Kivay noticed Alen and the pebbles flying towards Kit. ((um...i guess this post is before aj's response.))

Kivay stopped, almost having reached her goal on taking care of Kit. She glared at Alen ((sp?--how do you prefer to spell that? X_x )), "Hmm..and what are you going to do about it?"
The obvious action would have been for Alen to give her a threat, and upon doing so Kivay would just respond by attacking him. But she began to feel slightly dizzy and dug her claws into the ground to keep herself from falling over. She had endured too many injuries and it was at that point that she realized she couldn't go any further, "Then I shall leave and return for another day...I'm in no condition to continue..."
She plucked the swords out of her shoulder and smirked at Kit, "Your speed makes up for your lack of any skilled precision---we'll see each other again."
Immediately, she floated up above the ground before flying away from the village. She only managed to fly for about a quarter mile before tumbling across the ground and then finally lying in a tangled pile. This just isn't my day... Kivay thought to herself wondering if the people would come and try to kill her while she was down.
She turned back into her human form and pulled out a neatly formed spine from her arm that resembled a sewing needle. She then pulled some thread away from her clothing and broke it off. Kivay was going to use the material to sew her wounds up, but she frowned at the thought of having to do the task herself. Back on her world she was used to demanding someone help tend to her injuries, but now she was on a world where the order of things were different. She was sure that if she demanded for someone to take care of her here, she would be attacked instead, "These people are definitely bold..."
She sighed as she started to work on her wounds.

((sorry to stick my head in uninvited but...no dice based combat.
i'm not one to just declare something without letting you know why not so here goes: dice rolling only works with a complicated stat system that requires alot of mod policing and supporting rules, since we have none of these things here in the CDG dice rolling is not pheasable. to give you an idea of how much rules you would need, take a look at D&D manual of rules and settings etc. We would have to also rewrite the whole feeling of the guild, the guild is currently more story based, which depends on members respecting each other to make and interesting fight. If we were to change stats would not only have to make a stat reward system and that would make it very hard for new members to get thier feet wet. considering one hit by an expierienced member would end a fight. Without alot of convincing, I am going have to prohibit dice rolling battles in this guild))

((i agree that it is too awkward to use in a story-based setting, but for games and tourni's may be a different issue since it would be difficult to determine a winner unless someone willingly gives up (and in those settings, a victor is a bigger issue than that of the other scenarios). the dice system that was just proposed was rather simplistic, and the AP is determined by the number that is rolled out, each person starts with 100 HP. So the battle would then be based on luck...and, doesn't require a slew of complicated rules or supervising. and there is no reward system for this---just a simple who wins and who loses game. i think it should be allowable only for certain situations, and also if all participants agree to using it. but of course...this guild has seen a failure in any games/tournis...so that may never happen even if you did agree -A-))
