"yeah," Katia said, "hang on, i'll be right back." Katia went over to the curtain and stepped through it. she went through the tunnel and poked her head out of the cave. no sign of any life. she stepped completely out of the cave and sniffed the air. all the scents were stale. she checked the position of the sun, not yet noon, but close to it. she ran back to the cavern and through the curtain.
