"A little R & R, so to speak," Shuya said, winking. "I suppose it was more for my sanity, to get away from my sister," he added, shuddering in fear.

Adjo laughed. "Well, I can't argue. I know how that feels...Though, if she's half as a cute as you are...Can't say I'd run away myself." Adjo snickered.

"Oh, Shizuka? She's very pretty, indeed," Shuya spoke, looking thoughtful. "But really, she's a nightmare. She's so mean!" he cried, throwing his hands up.

"Oh, is that so? Well, nightmares help you to appreciate the sweeter dreams better, hm?" Adjo renewed his half-smile.

Shuya laughed quietly, glancing down with a faint blush. "I suppose you're right..." He kicked gently at the sand, smiling at nothing in particular.

The distance from the coral reef to the long stretch of sandy beach wasn't a very long swim and for a mermaid, it was nothing at all. Moving along with the colorful fishes, one particular blond mermaid pushed her way up towards the surface of the water, her head slowly peeking up above the blue water. She glanced one way then the next, only seeing the local creatures of the beach. With her tail pushing her forward, she rode a small wave into the shore, her hands pulling her the rest of the way. She then turned and laid down on the sand on her back, her long locks clinging to her nude torso.

Shuya blushed softly, letting out another short giggle before smoothing his coat out. "So, Adjo, where are you from?"
Tsukasa was walking along the shore, rather staring at the sky as he wandered. Finally, his bare feet stopped as one of his feet brushed against something. Slowly turning his gaze from the sky to the ground, his eyes caught sight of what he had hit, the scaly, smooth tail of a mermaid. He looked over her, his lips parting slightly as he moved his mouth to speak, though no words came out. She was stunning.

"Egypt...Then to a world just like it. Wonderful place. Have you ever been? Warmth, and the buildings are all so tall and airy..." Adjo sighed, contently, as he looked off.

Shuya smiled brightly, clasping his hands together behind his back. "Sounds nice," he said. "At least it's a nice, earthy place. I'm from Jigoku, you can't find nice people or airy buildings or anything there."

Of course, the mermaid hadn't been paying close attention to anything after laying out on the sand, her eyes closed against the bright sun above. But when feeling something brush against her, she opened one bright blue eye and glanced up. The human staring down at her was a surprise. Her other eye opened as she quickly sat up and used her hands to back away from him a bit, dragging her closer to the water so that the small waves just did lap around her tail.

"Yes, Jigoku is terrible," Shuya spoke, shivering slightly in thought. "I'd like to visit Egypt, it's one of those places that are so exotic and unknown," he said, his voice rather dreamy as he wondered about the region.
Tsukasa backed up a bit, biting on his lip. "I'm sorry," he started, finally able to speak. "I didn't mean to frighten you," he added, kneeling down to the sand close to the beautiful mermaid. He couldn't think of much else to say to her, his eyes unable to stop taking in the sight of the maiden, his hands fidgeting beside him against the sand.

"Is that so? It's quite the place. Or it was. When there was still magic around. Of course..." Adjo looked around. "This...'Underground' doesn't seem so bad, now.

"Not bad at all. Shizu-chan really likes it here, so I'll stick around for her sake. I know she wanted to get out of Jigoku as much as I did. She might enjoy her job, but neither of us cared for the surroundings. Well, as long as the job requirements weren't being in a certain place," Shuya rambled, looking to Adjo with a smile.
