The two girls entered the forest and looked around.

Joyce spotted a large tree nearby, and as she did she remembered something her mother had once told her. "Crissy, did you know that if you put a little bit of honey on a tree, there's a chance that a rare pokemon would appear?"

Crissy blinked at her friend. "No I didn't know that! Is it true?"

The other girl shrugged. "I'm not sure, but it won't hurt to try, right?"

Crissy nodded.

Joyce grinned and pulled out her pot of honey, pouring the small amount in the jar on the tree.

The little cherubi looked up startled as Coal appeared next to it, and it abandoned it's honey to tackle the chick pokemon. -20 Coal: 30/50
Coal hopped to the pokemon's right and used peck. SE! -40 Cherubi: 80/120

The wild cherubi used growth, and it grew a little larger. -5 Coal: 25/50
The torchic pecked the cherry pokemon again. SE! -40 Cherubi: 40/120

Cherubi released a cloud of tiny seedlings that settled down on Coal's body, draining health from him. -5 Coal: 20/50 +3 Cherubi: 43/120
Coal pecked the Cherubi once again, and then hopped out of the way when he sensed that it was growing weak. SE! -40 Cherubi: 3/120

Crissy saw Coal step back, and she threw a pokeball at the Cherubi.

When the cherubi recovered, he looked up at his new trainers, and blushed, hiding his face against Joyce's leg.

The girl both giggled, and Joyce leaned down to pat him on the top of his head. "Aw. You're so cute!"

The cherubi butted his head against her leg once, and then stood back to glare at her.

It took her a moment to figure out why he was mad at her, but she eventually figured it out. "I'm sorry, do you not like being called cute?" He nodded. "I promise to do my best not to do it anymore, alright?"

He nodded, mollified, and while Joyce pondered what to name him, Crissy placed another dab of honey on a tree a little ways away.

Joyce was the first to reach the trees, with Crissy following more sedately behind her, still quite a ways off. Joyce saw a wild wurmple eating the honey that Crissy had left there.

Joyce looked back to see that Crissy was still a ways away, and that she had sat down on a fallen log to rest a moment. "Well then, I guess that means it's my turn to fight!" she said excitedly, and gestured for Nightshade to come forward since he was the only one of the pokemon that had followed her. Seawhisper had come too, but she was sleeping on top of Joyce's head again.

Night shade drifted forward, a grin splitting his face. "Use Sucker Punch!" The ghost pokemon didn't appear to hear her, and he stuck one of his hands halfway through the wrumple's body.
The wild wumple didn't like seeing fingers poking out one side of it's body, and it shot a string of sticky substance at the offending hand. NVE! -2.5 Nightshade: 167.5/170

As Nightshade ignored her order again, she was treated to the sight of his tongue wagging out of the top of the wurmple's head. She sighed, and watched as teh poor worm pokemon freaked out, and that's when she remembered that wurmples had a chance of evolving into a Beautifly, which was one of Crissy's favorite pokemon. She resolved at that moment to catch it if Nightshade would ever stop playing with it.
The wurmple frantically turned around and stabbed at Nightshade with the stinger at the end of it's tail. NVE -2.5 Nightshade: 165/170

At the sound of Joyce quiet, please, Nightshade finally stopped playing around, and hit the wild pokemon with his closed fist, causing the pokemon to fly backwards a few feet. -65 Wild Wurmple: 55/120
Instead of running away like it had the chance, the wurmple charged back towards the Haunter, and then right through the ghost pokemon. Unneffective -0 Nightshade: 165/170

Nightshade grinned, and turned around, punching the wurmple yet again. -65 Wild Wurmple -10/120

Joyce threw a pokeball at the fainted pokemon, hoping to catch it for her friend.
