Vanessa smiled, also. A very bright smile. Just realizing what she's been doing with ehr life she said:
"What have I been doing?! Of course, I'm not going to get anywhere by going on a tour of a iron box, or by sitting on the beach, or by jumping into green water! I need to DO something with my life!" She exclaimed, looking at Dream. "And you need to help..." She said, quietly. "Your the only one here that I feel can teach me."

Ignoring the fact that Violet and Leila were probably going to be annoyed for ignoring them for a while, he nodded. "I will teach you, if you want. The first step is to balence your power, wisdom, and courage. Honestly, I feel that you have plenty of courage already, but I don't know enough about your strength or intelect. What can you do as of now?"

Leila just sat by, listening to their conversation. She was amazed what the two of them could do...a little jealous maybe. Her own powers were simple, silly things, but the major one she did not care for at all. She looked on in intrigue when Dream offered to teach her, wondering exactly what the extent of his powers was.

Dream noticed this, butr didn't care much. If she wanted to see what he could do, then he'd show her. Why not? But for now, it was time to teach.
"So... you are currently able to move the air in the direction you choose, generally a spiral or a downward thrust, and increase the power to some extent. That's something." He nodded to her. "Time to test your skill. Try this: See that apple tree over there? Try to get just one apple to fall down and come to us. Use any technique you can."

Vanessa looked at the apple tree. She pointed her finger at the tree, producing a light wind. As the wind got stronger and stronger, one of the reddest apples fell to the sand. Vanessa then used a disk of air to take the apple and bring it back to her. She took the apple in her hand, and gave it to Dream, smiling.

"Well done. You know how to use your power." He looked around. "Now for something more challenging. Try to lift yourself into the air about a foot, and stay there for ten seconds." He stepped back, giving her a chance to try it.

Vanessa created a disk of air, and made it fly under her feet. She then pointed to the disk of air, making it float about two feet in the air. A few seconds past. "5... 4... 3... 2... 1..." Vanessa thought to herself. She then pointed at the disk again, slowly lowering herself to the ground. "Ta-da!" She exclaimed, laughing.

He applauded her, grinning. "Well done! And now..." He smiled. "Lift yourself higher, and do a flip in the air. Then come back down."

"I'll try." Vanessa said, unsure. She made a bigger disk of air. And floated up about 7 feet in the air. She directed her finger to the platform, making it flip. When the flip ended, Vanessa said, smiling: "Woah... I'm dizzy." Then she flipped of the platform and landed on her feet in front of Dream. "Tah-Dah Numero dos!

He smiled at her. "Very good. You're not as weak as you might think you are. And now to try some things." He stepped back. "I'm going to toss some sand at you, so it won't hurt if it hits you. Try to deflect as much of it as you can. Can you do that?"

"Bring it on..." Vanessa said, grinning. As the first handful of sand came flying at her, she used a gust of wind to push it the other way, into Dream's face. Vanessa cracked up, falling to the ground.

Dream blocked it himself with a quick wall of air. It fell to the ground, as Vanessa did the same. "Very good." He laughed. "Do you want to try something a bit more dangerous? Don't worry, I'll heal you if you mess up."

"Ok, but it's your fault if I die." She said, pointing at Dream. She stood up, brushing the sand off herself. "The reason I fell to the ground was because I wanted it to hit you in the face. That would have been funny." Vanessa said, crossing her arms. She had a silly frown on her face, showing that she was just joking around.

When Vanessa's mother had appeared Violet had to cover her eyes with her hands and wings to protect her over sensitive eyes. It was only now when she heard Vanessa and Dream talking that she dared to look again. As she drew her wings away her eyes weeped a little, the tears were also emerald green. Violet made a whine like noise and quickly slipped her sunglasses back on. Hearing the girl mentioning her death she looked up a little.
"You better not die, i don't need more bright light today thankyou very much," she huffed frustrated.
