The sudden ringing of a cellular phone suddenly broke the relative silence, and Kai bit back a snarl. He hated sudden noises breaking into *his* quiet, whether he was with others or not.
Hence his constant irritation towards Takao back when they'd first become teammates. The phoenix blader had grown accustomed to the younger boy's sudden outbursts and other quirks; still, one couldn't just... start to like something one had disliked for as long as one's memory served.
One eyebrow quirked in Sayka's direction - Put your blasted phone in 'silent' mode, dammit! he was thinking - and then turned back to Miki. It had been a long relatively long day, and, loathe as he was to admit it, Kai was tired. Upon hearing his twin's reply, he gave a curt nod.
"All right; let's go then. Diana, too." Here, he raised his voice loud enough for the other dark-haired girl to hear; he didn't want to have to 'personally' invite the girl, it was... well, it was a lot of trouble.
--------------------
In the stark blackness, Kei stirred, wrinkling the blankets a bit more. Slow fluttering of eyelids, then she blinked once and sat up, wakeful.
The brunette blinked again and looked around her room, wondering what it was that had woken her up. Then she remembered: her ribs.
Gingerly, she touched the left side of her ribcage, where it had last hurt. Nothing. Kei pressed harder, ready to bite back a cry of pain if she needed to.
Still nothing.
It was then that she knew what had happened. Sometime during the past hour - even less - she'd unconsciously willed herself into her bit beast form so she could heal herself. It was something she'd discovered since her earliest days of childhood. She'd never once gotten sick - not so much as a fever! And whenever she got even slightly injured, she was always better after a few hours of sleep.
The amethyst-eyed teen had to smile at the more memorable instances - like the time she'd fallen from the pine tree in the backyard when she was 11 years old. She'd dislocated her hip, broken both armbones (the radius and ulna) from trying to 'soften' her fall, and cracked a rib. She'd had to stay overnight at the hospital, and when they'd checked on her injuries the next day... well, it was like they were giving her a routine check-up - the injuries had gone.
In time, she had learned to control her bit beast state so she could heal herself unnoticed if she so wished when she was awake. It had slipped her mind earlier, at the observation deck; apparently, the bit beast part of her went to work when she was asleep, whether she wished it or not.
She smiled again, remembering this time the first time she allowed her soul complete reign. She had gamboled about, in what must have been a vulpine form judging from the four feet, her relative height, and the shape of the tail - or tails - she'd spotted trailing behind her. The problem was, she'd forgotten she'd left her body on the floor of her room and, when she 're-attached' herself, she found that she'd been rushed to the emergency room and was on the verge of being hooked up to a regulator and EKG machine.
There's no harm in doing it now... she mused, the delight and exhilaration she'd felt that day coming back to her. It's nighttime, no one's up and about; Mom will let me lay in bed longer tomorrow morning, I gather...
In moments, Kei, her soul released and in bit beast form, sat precariously on the window sill, watching her body lying still under the covers. She grinned, showing small, sharp teeth and, with a push from her powerful hind legs, she launched into the air, landed on the nearest tree branch and quickly made her way down to the ground. True, she was a spirit, but there were some things that she couldn't pass through, probably due to being a bit beast. Well, no matter; at least she was out of the house.
Now... Kei looked around, her nine tails switching about in different directions, where do I go?

Maria then crossed her fingers and hope she would succeed.
She then placed her phone on vibrate as she forgot with all the commotion then text Keiji . Change of plan I'll tell you where later."Buy sun glasses a tinted snow goggles for me." She made sure it was not seen.
She approached Kai with fingers crossed.
"Oh Kai-san umm if you don't mind. I would also like to stay with Miki as her body guard. You won't have to worry I can sleep anyhow any where. I won't be any trouble. " Maria asked feeling a little worried.
**************************************************************
At streets a young boy named Keiji roamed around when he received a text message. "Good thinking Maria-chan" he said to himself after reading the message. He then looked around for a shop and saw a blue sun Visor glasses that covered his eyes. It was particularly hard and expensive looking for the snow goggles, but soon found some. He sat at a bench waiting for Maria's message.

Diana looked back at Kai and smirked to herself. "I guess i wont have to protect Miki for awhile." But she thought of a little thing. Voltaire was still hunting down for Miki. So, she still wasnt safe...yet. Trying to hold down a growl, she thank the gods whoever is out there for granting her other abilities. Focusing her gaze at Kai, she thought at her mind and her red eyes turn into a dark shade of blood.
DIANA TELEPHATIC MESSAGE: *Hiwatari...It's Diana...dont show that you are startled. I have telephatic abilties, you see. You probably know that i was responsible for the almost death of your teammate. I apologize for that. But if you want to know how i did it...it's because i have the ability to control the bloodflow of a bitbeast holder or a sacred-soul bearer. Which means at the simple tightening of my fist, i can make your body stop producing blood and you wont be able to breath.
Listen, i know that you are her older brother even if you are twins. You may think she is old enough to take care of herself but believe me. She is still in danger. I cant protect her all on my own though. I doubt that Maria can handle alot of that old goat's guards. I suffer lack of energy whenever i use my blood ability. So i need to ask you to stay with her whenever i am not around. Please, she still has traumas about her experiences back in that hell hole of an Abbey.
I dont usually beg to anyone but now i am. You are her brother, you are the only real family she has now. For what i know, she wanted to play in the Tournament along with me but i dont know if it will be a good idea since the media will be there and she might get found out and get kidnapped again. Please, she was almost...defiled...since she was being forced to capture spirits. I was there with there so i manage to kill the guard who did it. She was so petrified.
Please..Kai...as her brother...you're the only one who knows her the best and knows how to make her happy. Please help regain back her smile. She may be smiling now, but i know deep down she is still reminiscing those horrible memories. That's all i want, to see her smile for real, without those painful memories inside her mind. END MESSAGE
Diana's eyes turn back to their red color. She just hope that Kai will respond to her message.
---------------------------------------------------
Miki was softly smiling but somewhere in her mind, she still remembers how much pain she felt back in those laboratories. She cant help but remember when she was almost...almost....
Holding back, she still continued smiling. She didnt want to worry Kai. He need not to worry about her. She was 17 and she needed to act like one. She knows her brother thinks she is old enough to protect herself and she will let him think that way. Noticing Maria-san, she sense a slightly pale color to her energy. Her sacred energy, was usually blue, but it looked a little pale for some reason. Noticing the worry tone of her voice. She softly giggled.
"Big brother, i never thought you will be a hearthrob" she softly chuckled at the thought.

It was... startling, to say the least, to hear someone else in one's own head. Because that was precisely what was happening to Kai.
Maroon eyes registered nothing, not even the slightest change from relative calm to surprise, and then back. He had to admit, he'd gotten a pretty tight grip on his reactions and whatnot, disregarding the occasional fluke wherein someone did manage to actually surprise him.
He glanced at Diana, red meeting red, and he gave the smallest of nods. He understood the situation, of course; the knowledge of what had almost happened to his younger sister threatened to make him lose control, but he tightened his grip on his emotions, and his heartrate slowed right down (though it wasn't that high to begin with). There would be time enough to let out whatever anger or frustration - mostly the former - tomorrow, during training.
Training. Now he knew Miki wanted to enter the tournament. If Diana was right, then registering would be risky business for the girl. He shook it off. The important thing was that she was safe now; he was there, as were both of Miki's bodyguards.
Speaking of which...
He turned back to Sayka, trying to keep the look of disdain from his face.
"I'm... sorry, Sayka, but I'm afraid I do mind. Miki is staying with me for the time being; I believe I have abilities enough to take care of her. I only invited Diana because she needs to rest, and my apartment is no doubt closer than the hotel they've checked into."
He didn't want to add that the blonde had, for the infuriatingly umpteenth time, called him by his first name when he hadn't given her permission to do so. It was... uncomfortable, being called 'Kai' by someone he barely knew.
Kai glanced back at Miki, casually brushing the bangs from her face. "Let's go, Mit-chan," he said in an undertone; he didn't want the others to hear.

Miki gave a small nod and before running to to walk by her brother side by side, she ran to Maria and gave a 90 degree angle bow. "Thank you for everything Maria-san, hope we meet again" She gave another of her precious smiles before she looked at Diana and gave a nod, signalling for her to come too and proceeded to walk by her brother.
--------------------------------------
Diana gave another small nod back at Kai. She was relieved he got her message. She doesnt really want to ask him for help but when it comes to protecting Miki, she will grovel to him if she had to. Miki was a sweet and gentle girl, even if her abilities were powerful. But...she was still fragile. One push can make her break. Asking Kai's help was the best thing since he knew her from childhood. She decided to stop worrying for awhile and proceeded to walk behind the two, trying to make them have some privacy together. "They really need the time alone for awhile... She softly smiled to herself, watching Miki as she happily asked Kai about his past battles.
-------------------------------------
Miki was asking Kai some questions about his old team "Big brother, tell me, Mr. Dickenson told me last time that you were the captain of the Bladebreakers. What were they like?" Miki continued to ask about his battle with Takao, his battle with Johnny, why did he switch teams in the Tag-team battles. But most of all, she tried her hardest not to ask about Yuuriy since she knew Kai will get irritated if she babbled about him like an obessesed love-sick fangirl!

There was something about being out in the open at night, not as a person, but as an animal, or something akin to it.
Kei sniffed the air. A hint of late-blooming flowers now considered out of season mingled with lemon grass, honeysuckle, and wisteria blooms wafted through the air, a pleasant enough scent.
Her paws - man, that would take some time to get used to! - softly crunched the fallen leaves at her feet. No, it wasn't autumn yet; some plants just shed their leaves prematurely to make room for new ones.
Suddenly, inexplicably, she felt a twinge of fear in her small, furred chest. Had she eyebrows, Kei would have frowned. Instead, the pupils in her small eyes contracted, and the irises seemed to grow dark. She was confused, and also evidently not pleased.
With a last glance at her surroundings, she dashed off, fiery tales reaching forwards to clear a path to enable swift travel. She had felt threatened, and now was compelled to make haste to the nearest safe place she knew of: home.
------------------------------
If he were a different person, had his environment been different as he was growing up, Kai Hiwatari would have looked confused and surprised at all the questions. As such, he wasn't, not in the least.
"The Bladebreakers... truth be told, they make a lot of noise," he replied, keeping a steady pace as he pounded the path beneath his trainers. "But they learned fast, that much is apparent... Takao's a loudmouth, and he rarely gets by on more than luck." The slate-haired teen nearly rolled his eyes at the memory of that first confrontation, with both bladers having a 50% chance of getting back into the dish and winning. "Johnny's a skilled blader," he went on, glancing to the side to check if Miki could keep up. "But he's got a bit of a temper-" Oh, right, like he didn't have one himself.
Here, he took Miki by the arm to steer her in the right direction - which was left; it would lead them to a different exit from the park, closer to his apartment complex. "And switching teams during the tag-team battles... lets just say people can get tired of having to blade on the same team year after year; I needed a change of scenery.
Sheesh. If this went on, Kai would become just as much of a chatterbox as either Max or Takao. He shuddered inwardly at the thought.

Diana continued to walk and follow the twins. She smirked and decided to have a little fun with Kai's mind. She focused her gaze at Kai and once again her red eyes turn to dark blood color
TELEPHATIC MESSAGE: "Never knew you had a voice, Hiwatari. Considering the fact in the tournaments in the past, you had more words than a mute. But now Miki is here, you managed to find your voice"
Diana was smirking behind his back and watch as Miki doesnt notice anything. She was too focused at listening to Kai and plus, she is dense when it comes to sarcasm.

Of all the-!
For the second time that day, Kai shoved down a nasty comment, forcing himself to reply telepathically as well.
//Get the hell out of my mind, Murphy!//
The crimson-eyed teen didn't enjoy having the privacy of his thoughts invaded; this was an instance of that. Never mind that he'd just sent his first telepathic message - mainly because Diana was still in his mind!
Besides, he couldn't very well not talk to Miki; she was his sister for cripes' sake!
Still, it would probably be a wise move if he 'asked' the younger girl to cease with questions, even for just a little while. He was beginning to find all this talking rather... tiresome.
------------------------------
Up the tree, from one branch to the next, using her tails as a counterweight.
Slowly, Kei made her way back up to a level near her bedroom window - it seemed so high up from the ground, given her current height - and then made one last leap from the branch to the window sill.
Gotcha! she thought, relieved yet exhilarated when she landed precisely on the slim wooden 'landing'; she then trotted over to her bed and sprang up upon it, peeling back the covers with her teeth. Interesting to see how she looked while asleep; there was no emotion there, but perhaps it was because what she was looking at was an empty shell.
Well, not for long.
Little by little, Kei sank back into her body, a little sad that her short excursion was over. There'd be time for more in the following days, provided she could sneak away like she had tonight...

Diana kept on her control as her smirked grew wider. Who knew teasing the Ice King, Hiwatari Kai , was so amusing?
MESSAGE: Why should i listen to you Hiwatari? You know i can have your life in my hands anytime i want to. But i have to make an exception since you are Miki's older brother, she will get sad if i do that though. Besides, i can read your mind along with talking to you inside it. Don't try to make Miki stop asking beside i read hers and she wants to ask more.
Says you both need alot to catch up on each other's lives. You dont want to make her get sad by not telling her more about you? She just wants to get to know you more since you have been separated for...i dont know? for 8 to 9 years? By the way, she is hoping you will ask her one if you wanted to. Come now, big brother dont go disappoint her
-----------------------------------------------------------
Miki was silently thinking to herself "Big brother seems to be more quiet than the last time i met him. I guess he changed. He was silent but not this silent. I must have done something wrong" Miki was starting to drift off with her thoughts but this did not escape the dark-haired girl behind her. Miki was almost in the verge of crying. Of all the things she didnt want to do, and that is the make her brother annoyed with her.
------------------------------------------------------------
CONTINUE MESSAGE: Psst! Hiwatari, look what you did now. Miki is getting the impression you dont seem to like talking to her and getting irritated with her. She is starting to cry--CHANGE HER MIND OR I WONT HESITATE TO MAKE ALL THE VEINS IN YOUR BRAIN POP!

Maria was shocked with Kai's answer and just smiled on the outside.
Keiji walked by a little bored and walked by the park. Three people were in his path. He recognized a face from Maria's collection and the news. It was Kai Hiwatari but he noticed Maria was not there. He gave a glance of anger to Kai.
He walked on and saw Maria.
As soon as she saw her dear friend she immediately hugged him.
Keiji was surprised and soon felt her shirt wet.
Maria was crying hard. "I blew it Keiji. I just blew up." She sobbed.
Keiji then got angry and said, " He's still near let me get him"
She stopped him , she stopped her tear looking serious and said "Wait until their asleep."
Keiji trusted Maria's words she had a plan. He calmed down. 'Let's meet again Hiwatari" he said with a big smirk.

Kai rolled his eyes. Now he was sorry he'd invited Diana, but what could he do? The girl and Miki were... close, more or less, and he was not one to retract an invitation once it was given. Nevertheless, the dark-haired teen was getting...
Irritating.
At the mention of Miki's name, however, he nearly stopped short, and glanced down at the girl once more.
Crap.
His twin did look like she was on the verge of tears. Great.
"Hmm... anything else you want to know, Miki?" he asked. Admittedly, he didn't know what to ask her - definitely not how she escaped Balkov Abbey; that was a tasteless question, to be sure.
But Diana had guessed right; the twins had been separated for nearly eight years; while it had diminished none of the familial love he felt for her, it had made it less easy for him to talk to her, sibling or no.

MESSAGE: "One drop Hiwatari, if i see one drop from her eyes, Miki will be the ONLY child.." END MESSAGE
Diana's eyes returned back to it's red color. She glared sparks behind Kai's back. "Brother or no, i wont let anyone make Miki cry" She fumed silently. She focused her gaze at Miki, who's eyes were slightly getting watery.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Miki was still feeling sad when her brother called out to her asking for anymore. She wanted to smile but something made her felt doubt. Since when did Kai actually asked someone if they want to know more? He doesnt seem to act normal. But then a feeling twinge inside her. She wanted to look and see what it was.
But she saw 2 sacred energies, one blue and one indigo. Kei-san's were red, Maria-san's was blue...so..who is the indigo? "Another one..." she silently thought and continued to walk. But something in the indigo colored energy was wrong. it was flickering. Usually when an energy was pale, the bearer was in love. but when it was fading, he or she was weakening. But when flickering...The bearer was angry..
But now she decided not to worry about it and focused at his brother's unusual words. She thought of a possibility and looked down. " that's probably the only reason he will suddenly asked that" her expression shown a visible sad smile. She gave a fake smile to her older twin and replied in a soft voice
"Ie, i'm alright. Big brother...you dont have to ask if you are just being forced to, you know. I know we barely know each other now. We were separated for so long. You dont have answer me if you dont feel like talking big brother. I understand" Miki continued to put on a fake smile and proceeded to walk a little bit farther than Kai, making her back face him and Diana, not showing her sadness.
---------------------------------------------------
Diana noticed the sad tone in her friend's voice and walked faster to catch up with her but not before turning her head at Kai and gave him a death glare "Great job, a*****e" Diana whispered with a murderous tone. She walked more, trying to catch up with a sad bluenette girl.
I'm sorry if i cursed Kai but i cant think of anything!

((OOC:// I don't know why, but that last line cracked me up. xD I have to agree, though; Kai can be something of an a-hole sometimes, and I like him all the more for it ^^))
Hmm... admittedly not his best move.
As Diana moved past him - complete with glare and angry hiss - he finally allowed himself to roll his eyes. What was this girl's problem? Overprotectiveness, for sure. But perhaps for that, she'd lost - he hoped Murphy didn't hear - a bit of her mind in being protective of his sister.
Was it his fault that they were separated? No.
Could he help it if he wasn't much of a talker? Heck no.
Was he that good of a psychologist so that he could tell his sister had grown into something of a sensitive type while they were apart? Hell, I don't even give a rat's fart about that psychology crap!
Still, it was one thing to make a little kid he barely knew suddenly burst into tears - he wasn't in the best of moods when that happened - and another to make Miki feel... for lack of a better word... unwanted.
Damn it all... he sighed, before picking up the pace to catch up with the two girls. Of course he didn't want Miki to be sad - hell, he didn't even know what he'd done, for crying out loud! - and understandably, he wanted to make things right again.
Thing is, he didn't know how.

Sorry for the to continued part. I had to go to school on a saturday.
She brifed him on her plan and changed.
"Good thinking as usual." he answered. " I know the place. Let's go and wait there." She said in a hurry and now more cheerful.
"Wait what about dinner. I am hungry. He insisted.
" Fine their slow and easy to find. Let's pick something us and walk."She said, "By the way we should wait far yet see able and we have to be fast. Miki has an ability that can sense us."
"Wait if she has that kind of ability shouldn't we have captured her for real?"he interrupted her, before she went off again.
"We can do that later. Help me with this Keiji." She said in serious tone.

Somewhere hidden in some trees, Diana managed to find a blue haired girl sitting on one of the benches, staring out in nothingness. She took a deep breath and went to follow her. Sitting beside, her worried eyes not taking off from her friend. "Hey...Miks..you ok? I could go and give Hiwatari a piece of my mind if you want me to." Diana knew Kai was there so she made her voice loud enough for him to hear.
Miki just gave a simple shook of her head. "No, i dont want to give big brother anymore problems." she simply blurted out like it didnt matter a thing. But Diana knew better, "What do you mean? You never gave anybody problems. He is just a inconsiderate jerk". Miki gave Diana a firm look and continue to look in space "Dont call him names, Diana. Especially not Hiwatari. That is my surname too you know."
Diana got a bit taken back and sat up as she let her feet play with each other. Before she can speak, Miki interrupted her "I know, you just want to protect me Di, but sometimes i cant help but think Big brother doesnt seem to need me anymore. He has his life now, we were separated for 8 years and i guess it's long enough for him not to get used to a girl following him like a puppy."
Bringing her knees close to her chest, she hugged them silently and continued "Big brother has a lot of things to do. My curiosity and bonding with him can wait another time. He has a tournament to prepare to. I'm the inconsiderate one, not thinking of what big brother wants to do. I'm being selfish. It was pretty rude of me to just go on my own. I guess..Grandfather was right..that i was just a copy of my brother. I'll never be someone great. Kai will always be number 1 since he knows what he is doing. He should have your abilities and never have been born".
Diana was now angry. That old prune pretended to nice to her to get her abilities, then just toss her aside when she got rebellious? Trying to contain her anger. Her eyes shot open and revealed a blood shade color as her thoughts sprang to a certain crimson-eyed blader.
MESSAGE: Did i tell you not to make her cry?! You practically made her feel that you are blaming her you IDIOT! and dont you think i didnt heard your little comment that i dont have the right to protect her from the likes of you! I have every right because through all the pain she experienced, I was the one who helped her not you! You didnt even bother to try looking for her those past 8 years, you jack-a**! She was suppose to be happy to see but now you made her feel inferior and she thinks this is all her fault! END MESSAGE
Diana decided to focus her energy at Kai and then that did it, she tightened her fist.
MESSAGE: I hope this message is clear. COMFORT HER RIGHT NOW, I WILL GO AWAY AND LEAVE YOU ALONE AND KEEP WATCH. IF I COME BACK AND SEE THAT SHE IS STILL SAD, I WILL REALLY GRANT YOU ALL THE PAIN SHE FELT
Diana decided to stand up and gave a small smile to Miki "Hey, i will just go and get a can of juice from the vending machine ok?". Miki gave a nod and went back to her staring off in space. Diana hesistated a little but jumped to a high branch of a tree and disappeared to the top.
big brother better do this right to Miki-chan...i dont like writing sad lines. and BTW, goddess, is Maria really nice? i think she..is obesessed with Kai that she will capture Miki to get his attention. it seems that way you see I'm sorry!
