It was like stepping into the past. The floor was made up of a black and white checked tile. Tall stainless steel swivel stools with red cusions lined the counter. Pictures, posters, license plates, and articles from a bygone era dotted the walls except where a 50's style mural was painted complete with images of large food and poodle skirts. Music from the 50s & 60s played at a comfortable level over the hidden speakers giving the entire place the feel of the time all on its own. A young girl, probably in high school, smiled at them as they entered from behind the counter. Further behind her the kitchen was visible and two more high schoolers could be seen (one boy one girl) as well as a small older woman with short blonde hair & laugh wrinkles and an older gentleman with graying hair that seemed to tower over the other employees.

A menu board hung over the main counter, listing off foods like hamburgers, pork tenderloin & pizza sandwiches, sweet potato fries and the like as well as a multitude of custard dessert options. A cow blackboard near the register read "Today's Flavor: Peanut Butter" in scripted print. Relm noticed that there were indeed only the three typical flavors otherwise, but that was just fine. "Homemade" proceeded the mention of the custards, and that was always a good sign. Besides... they had chocolate dipped waffle cones and bowls.

Relm gave a little squeak, having nearly forgotten what she had hoped to do with dessert. "Hummer... would you like to find one to share... or each get our own?"

As much as she still wanted to feed him, Relm found that she no longer felt such a pressing draw to the notion. Unless... with a small laugh she shook her head. No... that was not likely her beau's reason for taking her on a date. Besides, there would be plenty of chances for... well most anything. Later. She was in no hurry.

If she could just convince her hormones of that sometimes.

When he used her reason for wanting to share a dessert as a reason for getting two seperate desserts, Relm could have kissed him. Actually, with a funny sound like an out of practice "squee" she did -standing on her tiptoes to do so before almost bouncing to the counter and the waiting girl.

"Can I help you?" Relm grinned. "Yes please! I'd like a large lemon custard sundae with chocolate sauce, but could I have it in onw of those chocolate dipped waffle bowls or cones?" She bounced a little bit on the balls of her feet, her tail waving against her legs behind her.

"Sure! Chocolate dip costs extra though." A pang struck Relm, suddenly thinking about how much Keme had already paid tonight even as she nodded. "I know." She would just have to take him out next time. Or figure out something equally nice or better. Not that she could easily think of anything better than tonight at that moment!

The girl's smile did not alter and she repeated their order. "Is that it?" Before giving turning and repeating it ot sone of the youths behind her and telling Keme the total.

Relm leaned over the counter a little to watch them make her sundae in a cone. Now that she thought about it... whipped cream would come out of fur much easier than custard.

With only desserts ordered it took no time at all for their food to be made ready for them. The older lady brought it over for them with a tired smile. "Thanks!" Relm beamed her thanks as she took her sundae cone.

"C'mon, Keme! Let's sit in the spinny chairs!" Choosing a seat Relm had to hop up, but once there happily licked at some whipped cream that was overfilling the scooped side of her waffle cone.

"You're welcome." The lady smiled, before turning to her next task.

Relm was lightly swinging her feet like a young girl, grining happily at Keme. She waited until he had taken his seat before offering him a bit on her spoon that had a bit of whipped cream, a bit of chocolate, a bit of lemon custard and even a bit of waffle cone on it -all without being a gross size. Quirking her head she just grinned at him.

If it have been beer she had been drinking she might be comming down from her buzz now too, but hard liquer stayed with her a bit longer. Not that Relm herself knew that.

With a grin Relm accepted the bite, feeling the textures & tasting the flavors as she took cre to chew. "Oh! That's Yummy!"

Then she bit into the tall side of her cone, having to lick the custard off her lips. She did not seem to notice that her actions left a spot of whipped cream on her nose.

Relm squeaked when his tongue licked her nose, light green eyes crossing trying to watch him. Then she felt all tingly inside and stopped eating to look at Keme. How could he sit there like he had not just licked her nose? "Keme! Why!"

Oh very eloquent. Relm giggled again, then took another bite.
