What an idea! It hit her like a brick and she scolded herself for being too dense to take note of it as she scurried forward (before the evil demon came back) and stared at all the buttons...now which one had she pressed? She decided to try them all at one and yet she was unsuccessful in her first few attempts as the tv screen changed shape, the volume got louder and then it began to buzz.

On her next attempt she managed to somehow change the channel back to the 'demon' and gave another shriek before tossing the controller into the air and diving back into the mound of pillows while the tv blared and buzzed angrily with rather unholy images of a possessed child.

"DEMON!" She wailed from beneath the pillows, finally admitting her cowardice as she hid under them and made no attempts to approach the tv screen again - Koni was all alone on this one.

He watched as she tried to figure out how to shut it off, his ears folding as it suddenly got louder, it buzzed annoyingly and the screen fuzzed. Whatever this thing was, he really didn't like it much anymore.. if he had liked it at all in the first place. Reika was hiding more under the pillow the more frightening noises came from the box... but he sighed as the demon returned, Hayaharu howled againa nd reverted back to her hidden state.

Reika continued to give wahhing sounds, probably loud to herself but not that loud to Koni from where he was and how the pillow was covering her up. But he didn't like her being so afraid of something that he felt wouldn't come out to touch either female, he pushed himself to his feet and went over to the thing.

Now... how to work it? His face settled into one of extreme concentration as he fiddled with a few things, each one not giving him the results he wanted. This... was damn annoying. Finally, he just whacked a series of buttons with a hand and some of them was apparently the right one since it finally shut itself off, the noise disappeared as well as the image. "There... hopefully, that'll work..." From now on, he was going nowhere near a contraption that looked like that again.

"Can I come out now?" Hayaharu enquired in a muffled voice from beneath the pillows as Chu walked in with one of a number of trays and simply stared at the fiasco around her. Now she had heard the shrieks from the kitchen but she could scarcely contain herself at the comical scene unfolding within the lounge - the two girls were hiding underneath pillows and the two males seemed to be trying to play heroes.

"Em, breakfast!" She chirped as she set the tray down and retreated into the kitchen for another tray as the geisha poked her head out from behind the pillows again and glanced at the tv suspiciously - she was never going to touch one of those things ever again, she would stick with literature and parties...she didn't need demons!

"Aye.. tis turned off now so ye can come out..." He looked over to see Yue's feet sticking out from under the pillow Reika was hiding under, slowly getting her to come out, his hair messed up as well as her headdress but she was looking all right.. except wide eyed and casting the tv doubtful looks. That was really scary.

Koni gave Chu a firm look when she came in with the breakfast tray. She better not find anything amusing by what she was seeing.. after the crap she pulled the day before, he was not in the mood for her humor. Nor did he truly see anything funny. Going over to Hayaharu, he extended a hand down to her. "here.. allow me to help ye up so ye can eat before the food gets cold."

"Right, food." Hayaharu cleared her throat and accepted his hand in aid as she lifted herself to her feet and made her way slowly towards the table where she sat down upon one of the pillows, following this Chu set about correcting the ornaments that had become loose in the fiasco over the tv before retreating into the kitchen once more - the girl obviously had her moments.

"Please, sit down." She offered at last with a sigh, thankful that her make-up hid the colour rushing to her cheeks as she extended a hand to pour the tea into the cups and shook her head, "I hope your sleep was pleasant to say the least...?"

Reika was shaking and once Koni was sure Hayaharu was seated confortably, he had to calm her down by lightly stroking her back with his thumb. It wasn't an everyday thing.. seeing something that freaked out Reika this much and he was rather unhappy about that. He would have to make sure that no tvs were ever near Reika again... or Hayaharu, apparently. He said nothing as Chu returned and fixed Hayaharu's hair. Least sometimes the maid could do her job.

Sitting down himself, he smoothed his hair lightly before he took up his cup of tea and sipped it. "Yes, my sleep was rather good indeed. Actually, it sees I have slept in.. Reika had to awaken me... which never happens. How about yerself? Did ye sleep well?" Reika was getting edgy even as she hesitantly sipped her tea and he knew she was doing her best to be polite but she wanted to ask. He hoped she would wait a bit longer so that Hayaharu could eat.

[hayaharu]

Hayaharu was not actually going to begin eating until the pair began to dine themselves and instead she began to remove the bowls of rice, dumplings and so on from the trays which she set on the floor once they were free of bowls. That done, she proceeded to set out the plates and offered a small smile in gratitude of his question.

"I always sleep well Koniryu-san, the rain keeps away unwelcome spirits." She murmured vaguely and chose to dismiss the demon that was inside the tv which she considered to be null and void so long as she kept said device switched off - she made a mental note to cover it with a cloth later on as well.

"There's no harm in sleeping in though Koniryu-san," She smiled faintly and shook her head from side to side, "Simply a sign that you are suffering from exhaustion."

Naturally, Reika didn't eat a lot of the food. Since she wasn't overly big, she didn't need huge portions, even though the food was delicious. So while she hate her part, Yue ate the other. The girl felt it was rather rude to leave food behind, especially when someone else was kind enough to make it for her. She and yue started chttering softly to each other, talking about how it was defintely different than what they ate back home, but it was just as good.

"I'm on who tends to have things that need to get done. I get enough sleep ususally.. just so much travel back and forth between home and here is a bit taxing. Alas, not much can be done about it." He ate slowly, enjoying every bite placed before him. It was rather well made. "And always tis best to keep away unwanted spirits.. since there are so many of them about... or so it feels heh."

"Precisely, you are suffering from exhaustion and if I were a doctor I would advise that you rested up before trying to travel again." The Geisha almost seemed adamant about this as she turned her gaze towards the windows again and raised an eyebrow, it wasn't because it was still raining but by some obscure force of nature it seemed to be getting less and less violent as though the gods had somehow decided that they had been punished enough...maybe her parasol would actually keep her covered this time.

She calmly tested her own tea with the tip of her finger and then brought the cup to her lips as she observed the chattering creatures close by Koni who she had to admit, were absolutely adorable and endearing in every way she could think of, even their manners were good unlike a certain twerp in the kitchen!

"I would say that resting is the most obvious and logical methods of dealing with your tiredness, yo uare welcome to lodge here to recover each time you come to visit this part of Gaia." She offered with a light shrug.

"In normal terms,I would be inclined to agree.. yet there are things that must be done before I can find time to get a full and restful sleep. Though last night has been amazing refreshing and I am feeling better already... but.." He looked down at his drink, his eyes focused on it before he took another deep sip of it. "I had another dream about yer city... I feel that unless I go there, I will nay get another restful night's sleep anyway." A rueful smile twerked his lips. "Dinnae worry, I have had worse. I'll definately be fine... as long as I'm active."

He had noticed that it was getting less and less violent out, which was good. maybe it wouldn't be a hassle to let Reika peer out over the pack as they travelled today. He didn't want to risk her flying out and hurting herself like she could have last night. Noticing that she was looking at Reika and Yue, he smiled down at them. It was hard for him to be hesitant around those two.. probably because they were already too cute. He had to remember to take Reika to the Druid's Grove whenever they had a free moment.. she knew she needed to go there as well.

"Thank ye for yer kindness.. I'll be sure to remember it should I be in this area again." And since he was tended to be guided around at times, he very well might.

Hayaharu was not impressed by his words but appeared to have more control over her emotions this time round, especially when he mentioned her home as opposed to the Gates of Hell that lurked above in the form of the intrusive floating range that forced much of the vity to be swallowed up in an eternal darkness that could only be lit through the use of magical lanterns.

"I see." She replied simply as she continued to sip her tea and focused her gaze on a bowl of rice before her in thought. In ways she was curious as to what they would have done if they had never met her, they would have never even heard of Shoichi and thus would Koniryu be forced to endure restless nights for an eternity? It wasn't a pleasant thought for her, a man of his calibur needed his rest.

"And yet I worry that you will over work yourself, Shoichi is incomprehensibly cold - our weather is worse than what you see outside during this time of year." She explained and then furrowed her brow, the bad weather was because the range could no longer protect them - why? Because it had decided it wanted to be selfish and had started floating.

He was more curious about her city than the mountain. Reika was the one fascinated with it right then but she also wished to see the city. For some reason, in his dreams, that city made him feel... it gave him the same feeling as his old home did, which was an odd thing to feel since his home was not a city in any way, shape or form. He hated feeling homesick but he did... he missed his home more than anything. And he doubted that anyone could truly understand his feelings... unless they themselves were trapped in a place away from their home as well.

If they had never met Hayaharu, seen her fan or soon learn information about the city and the range itself.. though first the city since she was more inclined to speak of it then the Gates of Hell she had mentioned before, he wouldn't have been able to sleep. The need to figure out his dream would have kept him up weeks or months, pouring over mountains of books. He was stubborn and even worse when it came to important things. But he wasn't about to mention something like that. "Tis fine if tis cold. I can properly bundle up before such a journey.. though I would need to go home first and properly prepare. To me, weather doesn't really matter... I need to see yer city... and I doubt that there's any better time than the present, aye?"

"Actually at present Shoichi has locked the city gates, there is no way in and no way out." She shook her head sadly as a pang of home sickness enveloped her and she was forced to look down at the table in order to mask some of her distress - nevertheless, after a few moments she did look up again and offered an ever so slight smile, he was a stubborn mule to say the least, the mention of cold usually scared many away.

"However, the Gates may be locked by I am a citizen and know and love my home as no other place." She released a sigh as she came to the conclusion that it was better to satiate their curiosity than to fight it off and cause problems for herself at a later date, "I will answer whatever questions you may have to an extent but I will decline some - there are simply some things that you cannot speak of." She murmured vaguely and took another sip of her tea.

At the news that the city had locked its gates, he looked a bit lost. "Why would the city lock itself up like that? Did something happen?" He caught her look of homesickness and he felt horrid for her. She knew that feeling that he fought with constantly. He didn't look up from his rice bowl that he was nursing for a long moment, trying not to think about his home too much.. or the fact he was probably cut off rom it for the rest of his life. But he was stubborn to a fault and nothing was about to stop him. Hell, he had tracked her down in that horrid weather even though he hadn't wanted to! That had to say something.

"So.. are ye saying that there is another way of getting into the city? I would think that a simple lock would keep someone like ye away from the town ye love so much... or am I wrong?" There was a faint sparkle in his eye before he looked at her. "Is there anything special about the city.. like a place no one is allowed entrance into?" He was still thinking about what kinds of questions to ask and since they were finally getting to learn something, Reika calmed down.

"I don't know, I left the city a week before the Gates were ordered shut by the Emperor." She gave a loose shrug as if to emphasize her lack of care but it was apparent she was pained by the apparent inability to return to the home she loved so much, "And they are not simple locks, they are far from it I am afraid." She took a breath and after a few moments adjusted her position on the pillow.

"They are sealed magically by the palace magi that reside in the Forbidden City, when the gates are locked everything both above and underneath them become inaccessible." She paused briefly to rack her mind of information that might fully explain what she meant by barred entry, "Think of it as a sphere," She said at last, "A big bubble froms around the entire city both over its top and under its foundations...nothing can get in or out."

"I can only assume that something unwelcome has entered or has tried to enter and the Emperor has found out." She mused softly and then gave a rather sad smile, "He must fear for his people if he has closed the gates."
