((GO POST GOOO~ Then work... ooooh yes... woooorksoooor. THEN I'M OFF THE REST OF THE WEEK. I bet you're all SO JEALOUS.))

Beatrix, whom had been looking a little frustrated and then quite amused at Enzo's rather loud decleration, lost this expression at the sight of Cherokee on the doorstep. Even by looking at the back of his head Beatrix could tell something was wrong. He had been turned to look over his shoulder, but looked back as he heard the door open. She felt a little tug at her heart and couldn't really place why, his expression was the same, but something about him seemed broken, more so than it had been before whatever it was.

He didn't meet either of their eyes at first, but at Enzo's question he looked to him. "... She called me." He said, his face stony.

Beatrix tried to smile at him. "Do you want to come in?" She said in a kind voice, opening the door a little wider.

"I don't want to interrupt." He said in that flat tone of his, eyes passing over Enzo briefly.

The woman smirked. "It must not have been that bad if you can still joke. No worries, Cherokee... you didn't interrupt a THING." She said with a heated look at Enzo that was partially playful. "Can't interrupt what was never going on, right? Sort of wish you WERE interrupting, actually." Laughing she tugged at his arm.

"Come on in. Tell us what happened." She gripped Cherokee by an arm lightly and tugged him inside.

"I have to..." Cherokee began as he was lead inside and steered into a chair at a humble kitchen table. "I have to go get her." He exhaled and rested his face in his hands. "I want you to stop me."

Outside there was the sounds of Emily and another child racing down the streets on their bikes, hollering at the top of their lungs. Cherokee looked up to his friends with pleading eyes. "Don't let me do it." He said sternly, but not sure of himself. "Talk me out of it. I need someone to talk me out of it."

Beatrix bit her lip and looked to Enzo, her eyebrows knitted in a worried expression.

((haha wicked sweet yo! And I only have the rest of this week and three more days of school! Well the rest of this week, monday, and two half days! ;D CAN'T WAIT! THEN MY FRIENDS AND I ARE GOING TO RUN AROUND THIS SUMMER LIKE CRAZY KIDS! <3 ))

The ride to the hospital was silent unlike most days when she had the radio turned up so loud one could swear they heard it a mile away. The only sound emitting from the car was the purr of its engine and the tred of the tires on the road. She felt the need to yell or scream, but her mouth was shut tightly. Yeah, she was silent a lot of the time, but even her breathing seemed non-exsistant. Who she was now wasn't her. She was naturally out-going, loud, wild, and in constant need of attention. Lately she was the opposite. She only talked when spoken to and needing to say something, she was soft spoken, too tame for any natural person, and always straying away towards the shadows instead of spotlight like she once was before.

She never liked who she was now, she wanted to be herself, wanted to run in the streets and throw snow at people. She wanted to hit on men and tease them into her every will. She wanted to run to the park and scare little kids. She wanted to wake up to someone each day in her bed and tell them how much they meant to her. She wanted to sleep in someone's strong arms and let them protect her. She didn't want to be the one doing the protecting as much as she was now. She didn't want to be who she was.

When she finally got to the hospital she turned off the car and stared up at the tall recovery building where Darius had been moved after a week in the OR and ER. The towering windows flickered like lit up candles with the afternoon sun. She dazed out for a while and saw white hands waving at her, motioning for her to join them in the clouds and dancing along the rays of sunlight. The clouds covered the sun for a moment and the ghosts and angels were gone in an instant.

She walked into reality once more, through the glass doors and into the sanctity of the recovering or the dieing.

It was quiet there, with the exception of soft beeping coming from closed or cracked open doors. The low mumur of families lingered in a few select rooms while nurses moved fluidly down the hallway with bedpans, wash cloths, and other supplies to keep the residents in stable condition. It was an awkwardly serene place. Everything was so light and soft that it was almost assylum feeling. A child might think it to be heaven, when an adult would think it was hell. It was actually something inbetween. To her it was hell though, she could feel her hair on her neck p***k when a nurse rolled a sick looking teen down the hall or someone taking their first steps for the second time in their life. Why couldn't that be him?

Then she heard the nurse that had been keeping out for Darius call her fake name. Amma turned around with a weak smile and held up a hand to her. The nurse walked over to her with a wide, kind, and caring smile. The white of her uniform made Amma's already wild mind grow darker and darker with thoughts of wanting to be in that whiteness and feel the warmth of being close to the sun.

"Ello dear. Happy Birthday. I hope you are having a wondah-fulll day. It's a please seein' ya here again. Almost everyday right?"

"Yes ma'am." She said emotionlessly and smiled again to the older lady. She was trying so hard not to break down and run off until her legs gave out and her heart stopped. "Thank you."

"It's always nice seeing folks come in to see their family. It warms my heart." It chilled hers. Hearing the woman say it made her feel even more guilty. No one knew it was HER own damn fault the man was there in the first place. Amma forced another crooked smile and nodded slowly.

"Thank you ma'am."

"He's right in there deary. You take care okay? And have a wonderful Birthday." The woman smiled, the wrinkles on her cheeks deepening and she turned around, waddling down the hall once more towards the receptionist desk at the end of the building.

Amma wanted so badly to admit to the woman and have herself arrested for shooting Darius, but she with-held or desperation and walked into the quiet room. The minute she walked in she was cold and rubbed her arms, looking over to Darius. His once bald head was now cleanly trimmed with black hair. She couldn't help but notice how nice he looked with trimmed hair...not to mention how incredibly at peace he appeared. Could he really hear her? They said it was possible that subconciously the brain held things that the concious could not. That was her only hope now in her life, that she could actually save her best friend with talking and holding his hand through an hour of the day or coming in and simply checking up on him. Maybe then if he woke up she could be a little happy and move with him and whoever he married to someone far away from this pit of sorrow and death.

"Hey there..." She whispered and sat down on the sofa like chair that was placed near his bed just for her by the nurse. There was a vase full of lilacs and daffodils that Amma had brought in everytime the others died, as well as a picture of herself, Joker, and Darius all acting as though they were beating eachother up. Those were the days when they were all just out of highschool and not a care in the world. The days when killing people, handling drugs and whores, and running from cops were simply a thrill and hype equal to that of those same drugs they gave to others to drown their sorrows in.

"So I called him today." Her brown fingers clung to his cold, dark, burnt-umber hand. She held it in hopes to warm it up and that he'd feel someone was there for him, someone cared about his life. She wanted him to know that he shouldn't give up on living, because she was going to make something for him to come back to, a new life maybe, or atleast something better than being half dead.

"I told him to forget me. You think that was right? I wish you could answer me. But I guess it's better than not talking to anyone at all." A deep breath before she ran a hand over his forehead like a mother would to a sick child. "I wonder if you can dream in a coma. I believe you can, it'd make it so much better. I hope you're dreaming good dreams, that they're better than the dreams and nightmares I have each night." She pulled his hand to her face and leaned over him.

"You're my big brother...so please keep pulling on. You're so strong...so strong...I'd have given up on living, you haven't. You've been tugging and tugging back from death so much. What keeps you here? What do you have in your mind that I don't? I want to take your place sometimes." She was interupted by a clearing of someone's throat and she turned her head to see a tall blonde woman in the doorway, frowning towards her.

"Lacey?" She gasped and narrowed her eyes angrily. "What are you doing here. Where the hell have you been?"

"I wanted to see him..." She whispered, Amma heard the pain in her voice and she seemed to soften towards the woman. "I thought if I came to see him..."

"He'd wake up sooner." Amma finished her sentence and stood up, taking a step back for 'Lacey' to hand over more flowers to Amma and sit down next to large black male on the bed.

While Lacey spoke softly and rubbed his hand Amma felt herself weaken and long for that. Why could she have her love while Amma couldn't? She was glad and mad at the same time. Darius had something to wake up to and tell them he loved them, while she couldn't and wanted to wake up to someone. After a few hours of both Lacey talking to Darius and the two of them talking to eachother about what she had done, Lacey left, giving Amma her number in case something happened and left Amma alone again with her brother figure.

She wanted to stay here forever, stay with someone who couldn't speak back to her and could listen without expressing what they thought. Taking a flower from the full face, she felt it's petals and stared out the window in silence. She'd probably stay there until the next morning, ditch Joker and everyone else. She wanted to be with someone she loved for her birthday or be by herself.

((I'm hoping the few hours gap in my post gives you guys some leeway to make things happen if you want to...if you know what I mean...eh? XDD ))

((Mmmm, posts! I AM NOT OFF THE REST OF THE WEEK. In fact, I WORK MOST OF THE REST OF THE WEEK! *Shakes a fist angrily*))

Enzo opened his mouth to mention that he wasn't interrupting anything, really, but Bee beat him to it. He winced at the look she gave him.

They walked into the kitchen and sat down, and Enzo frowned at his statement. "Cherokee, why would we stop you? Why SHOULD we stop you?" He furrowed his eyebrows, looking Cherokee over. "We both know she's all you think about. And you know well that I've tried to get you to go back for almost a year. You kept that ticket I gave you, yeah? Round trip for two people." He looked to Beatrix, givng a one-shouldered shrug.

"It's eating you inside out, Cherokee... And she finally called you. That means something, doesn't it?" He looked hard into CHerokee's eyes, an almost angry look on his face, "So don't for one moment try to get us to stop you. You've dug yourself so deep into a hole it's a wonder your feet haven't hit hell yet. You're already gone in here," he pointed to his forehead, "So why not be all gone, and come back whole? Catch up with yourself, Cherokee. Because it's not fair. Not to Bee, not to me, and especially not to Emily. She acts happy, but she does it for you. You know that."

He leaned back in his chair and rubbed at his shoulder. The old injury still hurt once in a while, and the scar it left wasn't pretty either. It was just another reminder of the life he'd tried, and thusfar failed, to leave. The life, it seemed, that was threatening to return. He hadn't needed a fix this bad in a while, and the fact that Amma had called... "Save her from herself, Cherokee. Go get her, bring her back here, and let her start over... Maybe then we ALL can start over, yeah? Emily seems to have the right idea," he glanced toward the window, smiling slightly at her shrieks and giggles. "We all need to take that up."

"So go. GO. We're not going to talk you out of it. You and I both know you need this... Need her. We'll take care of Emily. Go, and don't think of stopping halfway, or coming back alone."

That said, he leaned back with a sort of finality, a sense taht was ruined by his sudden rapid finger-tapping on the table's surface, in accompanyment with his bouncing knee beneath the table.

((Hahaha he needs to get laid... but yes. GO CHEROKEE! GIT OUTTA THERE! *Shakes a fist*))

((WOOO! I AM SO READY FOR THIS POOOST! WOOOO! GO GO GOOOO!))

Cherokee looked at his friend with no definate expression on his face as he berated him for his reluctance to go. Slowly he looked to his feet, his hands still raised on either side of his face. His light eyes were bright, almost crystaline. Though, as Enzo continued there seemed a firmness in him, a sudden certainty that used to come to him so naturally. His mouth was set in a hard line and his expression was not cold or cruel, but merely certain.

He finally seemed to realize what he had to do, something he must have been sure of all along, but needed another voice besides the one inside his heart to tell him so. He looked up to Enzo sharply and got to his feet. Beatrix was certain by the way he was eyeing the much smaller man that he was going to punch him, but did quite the opposite. He scooped the man into a one armed hug that picked him up off his feet and hugged him hard.

The woman laughed in surprise. "You're going?"

"I'm going." He was smiling. "God DAMN this feeling sorry for myself s**t. I'm going. No one can stop me." He laughed. "I'm GOING." He said, more seriously and lowered Enzo back into his seat.

Beatrix smiled softly and embraced Cherokee briefly. He held her just as briefly in return and turned for the door. "I won't come back without her." He assured them. "Even if it takes the rest of my life... or until I tie her up and shove her on that f*cking bus."

Beatrix was enthused by Cherokee's sudden burst of energy and saw him out the door, trotting at his elbow. "That's right, Big guy! Go get her! Tell her who's boss! You show her what love is!" She cheered just beside.

Cherokee could hardly keep a smile off his hard face. "I owe you guys big time for watching, Emily. Feed for Clint Eastwood for me!" He said as he headed out the door and bounced it shut behind him. He leapt down the porch steps like the reckless teenager he had once been, a young man with only the thought of his own hapiness and stopped at nothing to get just what he wanted. A young man that'd break into shops through windows for a quick thrill or kiss girls for the sake that he was young and loved... and he loved again, loved again with no regrets or remorses. He was in love and would get what he wanted, even if it meant breaking rules.

Beatrix watched him through the window as he scooped up his small daughter and spun her twice. He kissed her atop her head and hugged her fiercely as he told her he'd be back before she knew it. The young woman smiled, a gentle smile that softened the edges of her face.

"He really loves her." She said with a little sigh. "I bet he will screw with her." She remarked smartly, chin titled up haughtily. "Unlike SOME people." She flipped a lock of her hair and sauntered off. "I'll be upstairs if you need me." She paused and her dark eyes flashed. "In MY bedroom since it's definitely not ours because saying it was OUR bedroom would imply we sleep together... and I don't mean like some old married couple... I mean we SLEEP together. Maybe even twice or three times if we feel like it!" She said in an overexaggerated mournful voice, sniffing like a famous actress might.

She vanished up the steps just as dramatically with a hand over her eyes as though to hide her tears.

((hahahaha, she just kills me XDD))

Cherokee arrived in the city quite quickly. He wasted no time when he stepped off his last bus. He quickly went searching, but he knew where she must have been right away as he arrived at the hospital, running down the frozen sidewalk and breathless. He must have looked ridiculous running like a mad man through dirty piles of snow, over icy patches of side walk, and pushing through the bustling city crowds without even a passing excuse me as they cussed out his running back. What was more was he was not dressed for the weather. He was in a pair of jeans with filthy holes in the knees and a thin sweat shirt, but he didn't seem to notice the cold nor the fact he had ran out of breath miles back.

As he entered the hospital he quickly made a b-line for the check in counter, cutting off everyone in line. People scowled or began to protest, but Cherokee ignored them.

"Darius." He said, breathing hard. "He here?"

"Relation?" The receptionist asked, a rather nasty expression on her face.

"None, but there should be a woman there... I need to see her."

The woman behind the tall desk only frowned. "Sir, I'm sorry, but I can't allow that."

"You don't understand... I've come a really long way. I NEED to see her. If I don't find her I'll go crazy... please." He said with a sincere expression on his face. He was begging.

The woman only shook her head. "I CAN'T do that, sir." She repeate firmly. "It's against policy!"

Cherokee continued to breathe hard for a moment before frowning and givng her a rather hand gesture. "Forget it. I'll find her myself." He exhaled and quickly broke into a run down the hall.

The woman quickly stood up on her toes. "SIR YOU CAN'T JUST WALK IN HERE LIKE THAT! COME BACK HERE!" She screamed at the top of her voice. Those in line watched him curiously as he ran, as did doctors and nurses alike that he passed in the hallway, but he paid them little mind. He wouldn't stop until he found her.

Passing room after room he threw himself into every one, interuppting family reunions and grumpy/surprised patients alike, but he didn't stop for a single one of them. It wasn't until he turned down the next hall that he almost passed her. He ran by the room and caught a glimpse of her hair. He back tracked quickly and stood by the door, out of breath and leaning heavily on the door frame.

She was by the window with a flower in her hand, her expression mournful and hopeless. He stepped into the room, slowly trying to catch his breath.

"Amma." He said softly and stopped, watching her intently.

((Haha he's crazy...and adorable. *squeels and falls over* Bah! I want a man like that! *points and glares at Amma jealously*))

The lilac in her hand looked stark to her. The normally bright purple-blue petals appeared gray as she ran a finger over it. Everything was boring, nothing had color or tempurature. But what did that mattered anymore? It didn't matter to her. Everything she cared for was either gone, half dead, or trying too hard to make her happy. Was that a bad thing? To her it was. Why try hard on someone you should have given up the minute their life left on a bus.

It sounded funny to her and she let out a cold laugh and laid the flower down on the window sill and leaned towards it, pressing her forhead against the cold glass, blowing hot breath on it and watching it condense on the window. If she had been herself she would have probably written something obsene to anyone looking up to read what she was writing, instead she wiped it off with the palm of her hand tilted her head back to look at the ceiling.

"Darius...what is life really?" Her mouth parted halfway and she reached up to grab something invisible. "Just water and air. That's what everything is made of, water and air. And if we are cut off of water, air has nothing to react with...and her evaporate into nothingness." Moving her head back to look out the window. "You haven't lost your water, but mine's being sucked up each day. Hopefully your's won't until you have a chance to wake up and see something wonderful...like..." Pausing she shrugged and shook her head. "I dunno...I really don't...but I pray to God you'll experience something so great that you don't care if you die or if you live, just that you can have it again."

Elbows rested onto the sill with the lilac and she gazed down at the people walking into the hospital with flowers, colorless flowers and colorless people. She frowned and wanted to just jump out there with them and join whatever they had in their lives. Whatever she could do to get away from this horrible emptiness eating away at what was left of her heart, and it wasn't much now a days, sooner or later it'd be gone, along with her.

"Amma."

"Not now Martha...I know you just want to say Happy Birthday or something...but...it doesn't feel to happy right now." She was so dazed by the black and white surroundings that she didn't recognize his voice and pursed her lips as though trying to act normal. "I'll talk to you later, o-" She stopped when she turned around to see a taller and much more...straight figure than the nurse she was used to seeing interupt her during her visits to try to cheer her up.

Her face was as blank as a peice of unwritten paper. Green and blue eyes stayed on something on his face, maybe not his eyes, but something as though she couldn't see him. Finally she blinked and her fingers twitched towards her empty pocket. "You're not Martha..." Her voice was suddenly so alive that it even scared herself and she could have sworn she saw Darius sit up to look at who was in the room with them, even if it was a figment of her imagination.

"What...who...when..." she stammered and suddenly spun back around and looked at her reflection in the mirror, then to his smaller one near her. It was obvious she was dreaming and she smacked herself roughly, as though she were hitting someone she hated, and it was probably true. "I haven't slept in days..." Muttering evidence of her dream. She pushed herself up in an erupt motion and ran over to Darius and grabbed his hand, making sure it was still cold and that she actually did feel the rough skin and smooth fingernails. Her eyes widened and she stopped living for nearly a minute before whirling around and looking to the flowers, colored.

Eyes moved to their corners to glance at Cherokee like a child would a monster. "You...I...I look horrible...you could have warned me and given me time to look normal. I haven't slept in ages and I'm hungry ya know?" She laughed loudly and rubbed at her mouth nervously before straightening her gray shirt and jeans.

Glancing up again the same way but upwards she smiled and then frowned, trying to figure out what she was supposed to be feeling. At that moment she felt everything, smelled everything, saw everything, she imagined she could even taste the breath of both her and his. "His still living." She blurted out loudly and stomped a foot at how stupid she sounded. "I am too!" She blurted again and laughed.

"You're living, I'm living, he's living...we aren't dead." Wild eyes darted over his form and laid down on his light blue eyes and froze. Running up to him she grabbed his head and pulled him down to her's planting her lips on his and then laughing, this time her laugh full of energy and melody. "We're alive." She kissed him again, hands feeling his hair and then his neck and shoulders.

"I told you not to come back." She finally said strictly and pulled away. "I told you not to come back." A smile still was twitching at her lips and her whole body felt on fire. "******** this." She grabbed him again and pulled him inside farther, shutting the door with her boot and kissing him deeper.

((Hahaha she's insane, if I hadn't said that before.))

((Hawhaw, omg POSTS. Then bed. For yes... *is tired of getting up after noon XP))

Enzo was quite sure he'd heard his ribs crack with Cherokee's strong hug, but gave a wheeze and patted him on the shoulder. "Good, good." He rubbed at his abused ribs and gave a bit of a salute, chuckling at Beatrix's enthusiasm. It seemed she was excited that finally, FINALLY, Cherokee was going to do something about his misery. And really, it made Enzo happy too. He just... Didn't feel like hopping about and cheering. There seemed to be something sitting in his stomach, bent on making him feel like crap.

"Yeah, Cherokee really does lov- heeeey." Enzo frowned, watching her saunter out of the room. He heard her light footfalls on the stairs, and instead of following, slid sulkily down in his seat, fingers threading themselves through his hair in that well-practiced show of stress. His knee had started bouncing again.

He wasn't sure how long he sat there... It probably hadn't been that long, but it felt that way. He could still hear Emily screeching happily just outside, but his eyes kept trailing towards the sink... Or more accurately, the cabinet beneath it, where he'd hidden part of his slowly diminishing stash.

Even as he told himself to stop, turn around, and sit back down, or, hell, go upstairs even, go talk to Bee, maybe do what she asked... He walked the few short steps across the tile floor of the kitchen and kneeled next to the cabinet, opening it with a quick flick of his wrist. Enzo's hand darted quickly inside, his fingers plucking the small box from its hidden corner, and fumbled to open it. This time, he managed without dropping any of its contents, and was soon sitting at the table, tightening a strip of rubber around his arm, pulling it tight with his teeth.

He watched the already-worn veins slowly rise in the crook of his arm, and with a shaking hand held the needle, and simply stared at it. For a timeless moment, he simply sat and stared, ignoring how the tips of his fingers were going numb from lack of blood, how his other hand was shaking so badly he could barely hold onto the syringe... He hardly saw anything but the blinding guilt and evidence of his weakness.

But, as in countless times before, he gave in. It was just a little dose after all, and it helped to calm him down. Just enough... Not to get high, just to settle his nerves... To make whatever it was sitting in his gut quiet down a little.

Slowly, almost reverently, he returned the items to the small tin box, and once more returned it to its dark corner. Enzo took a few deep breaths, glaring at nothing in particular as he tried to stifle the roaring of his mind - he'd fallen again... Had to have that hit, didn't you? Just HAD to calm down a little... What's one more little fix? It won't kill ya... "No, but Bee might."

At his own voice, he started, hopping to his feet as if he'd been caught. Realizing he was the only one in the room, he calmed himself and ran his hand through his hair a few times. That's right. Calm. CALM. Finally deciding he was alright, he slowly trudged up the stairs, poking his head into the bedroom, "Bee?" He asked quietly, half expecting her to ignore him.

Why the hell was he so scared? It was so stupid! He wanted to, she wanted to... Where was the problem?! Well, Enzo knew where the problem was, but like the deep-seated guilt that hung with him about his addiction, he didn't want to think about it. It hurt.

"Just because we haven't, doesn't mean I don't want to," he said, bouncing from foot to foot. "I just..." He laughed - a loud, racious sound that hurt his throat. "I'm scared! I'm f***ing SCARED of f***ing you!" He leaned against the wall, fighting against the sad laughter that was welling in his chest. Despite the intense embarrassment of such a comment, the fact that had it been under any other circumstance, it might have even been funny, he felt a bit more free. Not a lot... But a little. Just a little.

"You're a wonderful person, Bee! Beautiful, heartwarming, gorgeous, smart, talented, ya know that? Why you'd even think about being with someone like me is beyond my comprehension, but it's you that makes me smile in the morning when I look over and see you there, that smile you give me... It makes everything feel alright... But even so, would you believe I'm AFRAID? Crazy, yeah?" He started laughing again, as if such a statment were some huge, cosmic joke. But it was a bitter sort of laugh - as if the joke were on him, and he was laughing to hide the hurt. So that everyone else was laughing with him... Not at him.

((haha that got like, REALLY LONG... *wonders* MAN Enzo... You friggin' EMO JUNKIE *Shakes a fist* Why does your life suck so much?! Why am I so MEAN to my characters?! *pets Enzo on the head* There, there... There, there... HE NEEDS SOME LOVIN'! *cracks up and runs in circles*

Lol, I think Bee wears the pants in this relationship... If she were the sort to wear clothes at all...

BED TIME. *scuttle*))

((READY GO POST! READY GOOO! *types*))

Cherokee smiled a little as Amma seemd to mistake him for someone else, and stepped in a little closer. When she sighed and turned to see him, he smiled. She looked like she was seeing a ghost, and he figured that must have been more than little true.

"No. Not Martha." He replied in his deep voice. He watched her evenly, patient and a little amused as she turned to look at her reflection in the window, to see if he was there too. "I'm here." He said in a voice that flowed with certainty and watched her as she bent over Darius then looked to him again. He continued to smile.

"Surprise?" He said almost uncertaintly, and then laughed a little as she remarked that she looked awful. "You look beautiful to me." He breathed, and started to take another step forward, but held back awaiting her instead.

He didn't have to wait long as she suddenly screamed about being alive. Cherokee's smile grew wider and his face hurt, but he couldn't and didn't stop smiling. In her wild exclamation of being so alive she suddenly locked eyes with him and in a few strides closed the space between them pulling his face down into a fierce kiss. Cherokee closed his eyes and kissed her back, large hands cradling her face. Suddenly, that bad year that he had went through, felt like nothing at all.

Though, Amma drew away and left Cherokee groping instead at the air with his mouth. He opened his eyes and then gave a breathless laugh. "I lied." He whispered. "I'm a goddamned liar. What you going to do about it?"

Amma answered by jerking him into the room, slamming the door closed, and kissing him hard.

Cherokee liked that answer.

He didn't seem to care that he had yet to catch his breath and he would have continued that kiss had he not then spotted from the corner of his eye Darius asleep in his hospital bed. That big black man's presence, even in his sleep, was enough to discourage any man. Cherokee would not be ashamed to admit he was spooked of a man in a coma... anyone would have understood if he said Darius's name .

"Amma." Cherokee said with a little laugh in his voice, pulling away. "Amma, Amma... I have a strict policy about doing this kinda thing in front of people with a coma." He kissed her once more and then instead pulled her into a large hug.

"Come back with me." He said suddenly, his tone more firm than pleading. "I won't leave until you come back with me."

((THERE! NOW BEEEE!!!))

When Enzo had arrived in the room she decided to pretend to give him the cold shoulder. She pointedly turned her back on him, arms crossed and nose up.

"What do YOU want?" She remarked scornfully, hardly casting a look over her shoulder, but as he began to speak, she slowly turned around to face him.

"...So you want to... but... you won't?" She asked in a voice that was a little mocking. "Makes sense if you don't have a p***s." She said in her most airy voice, but she suddenly bit back on her words at his exclamation. Her dark eyes fixed on his own, her arched eyebrows furrowed in that way to show she was sorry or worried.

Instead then she listened, a little smile touching her face but her eyebrows still furrowed in that same fashion that wrinkled her smooth forehead. "You mentioned how hott I was twice." She said with an edge of that dark voice in her tone.

Slowly she raised herself from the bed and strode over to him. "Enzo." She said. "How could you ask such a retarded question? I'm with you because I love you, yeah?" She laughed at the use of his word. "Why else would I stick around? You make me happy, Enzo... in you're own weird way. Couldn't explain it, but you do... no other man's done that for me before."

Beatrix then placed a hand on his shoulder. "But for god sakes I'm doing this for your own good. You need to be a MAN, yeah? I'll show you JUST how scary having sex with me REALLY is." And throwing him down on the bed... She did just that.

((HAHAHA, HAA... that was the best way to imply them having sex EVER. the eeeend))

Amma deepend the kiss to the point she felt she couldn't let go. When Cherokee withdrew she breathed in and smiled at him like a fool. "You are a liar...but I like liars...it makes it thrilling." She looked into his eyes trying to pull out everything he was, she felt as though she could see anything she wanted his those ocean blue eyes. She could see the ocean in them and she was close enough to pick out the specks of dolphins ands the tips of sharks in the orbs of water. When he mentioned being uncomfortable infront of Darius.

"Hmmm..." She looked thoughtful for a second and wrapped her arms around him, tilting her head so she could hear his heart beating against his chest. "What if we went outside on the sidewalk instead? And let everyone have to walk around us and look at us. They'd know how we feel, everyone would." She continued smiling and snorted.

"You know...like kissing in the rain...but this would be kissing in the crowd. We could be the people that make people want to punch us, but can't because they'd be afraid we'd kill them." She really made no sense but she didn't care at that point. Finally when he said about coming with him she looked up, eyes darkening and smile narrowing.

"It's my birthday...please...I don't want to talk about this...not now...not the minute after we see eachother for what seemed like decades. If you won't leave, than could you atleast wait until tomorrow?" She watched Darius now instead and closed her eyes, tightening her grip on Cherokee.

"How about this..." she muttered after a few minutes of thinking things over. "I'll go with you if...you tell me your name, do whatever I say for the day, and stay the night with me." A cunning smile made way on her face when she looked up again, poking his sides and then wiggling out of his arms. "A'ight? If you do that, you have a much better chance of me leaving. Probably from a 75 percent chance to a 99 percent chance. You have to convince me."

She licked her lips and walked over to where the lilac lay on the window sill. "And if I go, we take Darius and Joker with us, later maybe, but they're gonna come. And you'll have to learn to live with both of them. I mean...Darius won't be much trouble..." she said this part with the edge of her voice dark and dreary, "and Joker...he can understand lots of stuff...he may be a klutz...and a dreamer...but he'll understand...he will." She sounded as though she was trying to reassure herself before grabbing Cherokee's hand and opening the door.

"And since you have to agree with my bargain...we'll go and do the first thing you have to do with me." Her smile playful and her eyes dancing she gave a flower to the nurse from earlier.

"What's this for deary? Oh my you look really happy. That's wonderful, that's what birthdays are for. Oh and who's this young lad?" The woman's face was pure gentleness as Amma smiled to her taller partner.

"This...this is my life." Patting Cherokee on the stomach she took off the ring that had once claimed her finger and gave to Martha. "When Joker comes by...give this to him and tell him to give it to Victoria. She's perfect for him." With this said, she once again tugged Cherokee with her, grinning wickedly at him. "Let's go outside and play."

((dundundun. Haha...Amma's back! Woo-hoo!
Edit: I thought I'd like you guys to know that I bought some awsome sunglasses today, and guess who they were made by? ;o CHEROKEE! Hoo-ha...not the ONLY reason I bought them. XD Haha they're suhweet, and the tint is rosey-pink. :] I look the sex in them...bahaha))

((hahaha J... You are SO SILLEH! *pats you on the heaD* I bet you couldn't talk Cherokee into wearing his own brand of sunglasses...))

"Not so scary after all, yeah?" Enzo asked quietly from his place beside Beatrix. A soft wind drifted through the partially opened window. A sort of grin seemed to constantly be trying to take over his face, and he was fighting to keep it under control.

He fell silent for a moment before rolling over and giving the woman a tight hug, placing a soft kiss on her lips, "Thank you," he whispered, swallowing the feeling like he needed to cry. He felt so... Free. "I think everything will be okay now..."

And before he knew it, as he lay there beside her, he told her why he'd been so scared... so guilty about even such a thought. That his father... The b*****d of a man, had done nothing but abuse his mother, who did her best to shield Enzo from it... She did her best, but there were times - few and far between, that the man would turn on his son.

The fear that he might turn out the same way had been railing against him for years... But he'd never, NEVER admited it. To anyone... Even Cherokee. Though, in light of things, it almost seemed silly. "But now, Bee... I know that it's not like that." He smiled - a rare, genuine smile, "All thanks to a whore. Ironic, yeah?" His smile turned into a mocking sort of grin, and he half-expected to get a face full of pillow for his remarks.

((Hahahaha YAY! She FIXED him!... 'Cept, not in like, THAT way, 'cause then she couldn't have NO MORE FUN WITH HIM. *Cracks up* I GO TO BED NOW! WOOOOSH!))
PostPosted: Thu May 17, 2007 6:15 pm

((MY TURN, READY GO! Sorry it took so long... my parents were like: WOO! YEAH ALEX! YOU GOT YOUR TEMPS AT LAST YOU LAZY a**.

So, we went and looked at used cars. Oh yeah... and did other... shopping things.

And I'd like to mention Twilight has to be the worst book I have ever read. Ech. It's so bad I can't stop reading it. It makes me hurt and bleed as an author at HEART. EEEAAAARGGGH!

Anyway, onto the post...!))

Cherokee laughed a little at her response. "I dunno." He replied resting his chin on her head. "If you come with me I'll kiss you anywhere you want." He raised his eyebrows. "And when I say anywhere, I mean it." He added.

Though, he frowned as her smile fell a bit at his remark about her coming with him. He fell quiet and only held her.

"I could wait." He said quietly, eyes fixed on the opposite wall. "If I'm sure you would come."

There was a long moment when both of them were silent, Cherokee waiting patiently for her to gather her thoughts and speak. After a moment she made an offer. Cherokee stood back a bit to reguard her with a wary gaze, a small smile quirking at the corner of his mouth.

"My name?" He asked of her as she wriggled from his arms. He opened his long arms and let them fall to his sides. "A slave for a day, and a night with you?" Cherokee looked jokingly thoughtful. "Deal." He said not too much later, eyes flashing. "And I won't leave until I convince you. I already said that... You WILL be convinced." He assured in that certain tone of his he used so often as if just by saying it it was already written in stone.

Cherokee frowned a little at her next part of the deal however. It was a lot to ask of one man, the sort of things a woman would only ask if she was sure that man was all hers... the sort of things a woman would ask a man if the man knew she was worth all the trouble. He smiled again, broad and unhindered.

"As long as they don't live under the same roof." He said with a little shrug of his shoulders.

Cherokee then let his hand be taken and he let her lead him to the door. He laughed a little at how sure she had been that he would have agreed once more shrugging his shoulders. "Can't argue with you." Cherokee said in his rough voice.

On their way out they were stopped by a kind looking nurse. Cherokee spared her a small smile, a smile that grew larger at Amma's words and the removal of her ring. He looked to her and touched her face lightly with a hand.

"Lead on. I'm right behind you."

((TA DAAAAH! How special is that! I've never had to type so much dialouge for Cherokee before... WOO CHARACTER DEVELOPEMENT!))

"I thought it was scary." Beatrix remarked jokingly, sparing him a sideways smile. "I don't think I can ever have sex again. EVER. It was THAT scary." She batted at him playfully with a hand. "Of course it wasn't scary. Virgins. GEESH." She rolled her eyes and laughed again.

She too was quiet in his silence, listening to the sounds of their breathing. Though, the moment of quiet was disturbed by the sound of shifting blankets and Enzo hugging her tightly and kissing her very gently. Beatrix had a sudden urge to cry, and found it instantly stupid. She realized she had never had a man stay in bed with her after it was over and that suddenly made it very great, and profound: a man who stuck around.

She hugged him tightly in return, laughing softly. "Anytime." She breathed, and snorted. "No. Seriously. ANYTIME." She smiled at him.

It was then that Enzo confessed a secret to her. Beatrix in this time held him close and let him speak. There was nothing she could say, and no way she could have expressed in the right words what sort of sympathy she felt for him.

Beatrix then released him and laid back at his side. "Of course it's not like that. It's only WAY better." She said stroking his chin. "I doubt with your skinny arms you could hurt me anyway. Honestly, Enzo... have you seen yourself naked?" She laughed wildly.

At his comment she did indeed hit him in the face with a pillow. "Yeah, well... as a whore... I think you should know..." She looked at him from the corners of her eyes. "You need some serious practice." And with that she flounced from the bed. "I'm going to shower! And we promised we'd take care of Emily, remember? Get your skinny a** out of bed."

((Haha The Scarlet Letter was probably worse or just as bad. *wants to burn that book* BLACH! I'm sweaty...oh lalala bowchickabowow. *gets some axe*))

Amma felt extremely happy, almost as though she were on drugs, of course there was still that tugging sensation of doubt and fear towards the problems still overshadowing her. The problems of leaving without being killed, the problems of if Darius would ever wake up again, the problems of Joker, everything twisted and twined in the corners of her happiness. She'd only be freed of them until she achieved leaving and achieved getting Joker and Darius to come with her.

"Kiss me anywhere?" She finally responded, strolling down the hallway, looking to others who were both depressed and gleeful, such a range of emotions. "I like that idea." She grinned and pushed her red bangs behind her dark ears. "Anywhere..." Glancing up at him she leaned closer and raised a brow in a threatening way. "Even on a tightrope or in a cage of lions...or in a bar with bunches of drunk guys and whores." Her finger tapped the side of her cheek and then moved across her lips.

"A slave? It's not THAT bad being with me the whole day. That hurts Big Guy, really." She glared at him and looked away, still holding his hand. "Anyways, I've always been fun, when I want to be. I mean...I was the one who invented danger. Danger is fun ya know. Like runnnig out in the street without any notice. And everyone that's been with me for a day has either tried to kill me or try to get me to be their best friend. I guess I have that personality...you either love or hate me." She chuckled darkly before getting to the doors leading outside. "Just think, if I go with you, you'll have to put up with me almost 24/7! And I can tease you and embarass you everywhere we go." Her laughed raised and she put herself infront of him.

"You realize I'm angry at you for not doing what I said and coming here. But I'm also really really relieved too. Did you know it's been almost a year since I've smiled this much or even laughed?" Her eyes became serious. People around them turned to look for a second before shaking their heads, either smiling or frowning, and moving on their way to their own lives. Amma put her arms on his shoulders, resting there as she watched him again. "I was too selfish to do what you did for myself, to take a chance. But I'm also selfish enough to be able to say no one else was meant for me. Strange huh? We only knew eachother for a day or so before we felt this way. But I always feel good with you." Her tongue poked out of the corner of her mouth as she grinned. "I feel like we're on a soap opera right now...confessing our undieing passion to eachother and letting our emotions free...but whatever. I've always secretly liked those things anyways. You're the first person to know that." After she was done with her speel, she stood on her tiptoes and gave him another kiss.

"First things first..." She let go of him and walked outside, the doors sliding open for her. Before they could close she had clumped up a ball of dirty snow and slugged it at Cherokee's face. "I've wanted to do that for a long time now." Her voice waved playfully before disappearing out of sight of the doors. "If I give up first, you get to take me anywhere for half an hour or do anything for half an hour. And if I win...well...you have to get a lip piercing."

((haha okay now our posts can get shorter! *sighs in relief* Well...I dunno...it's just nice getting straight to the point, and now I must eat and shower...))
PostPosted: Fri May 18, 2007 11:39 pm

((Hahaha woosh... *attempts to write something* Hahaha and I dunno, J... At least the Scarlet Letter was written intelligently... Twilight is like bad fanfiction... That somehow made it into a publishing company.))

As he detached the pillow from his face, he gave Beatrix a rather shocked expression, though there was a silent laugh hidden behind it. "You'll have to teach me your ways, o professional." He said to her, sitting up and trying to get his hair to sit straight. There was no chance. "And yeah, I guess I could bulk up, huh?" That would involve quitting completely though. He wasn't sure he could.

For a while he simply sat in the bed, listening to the shower run, before he gathered his own clothes, and wrapped a towel around his waist. Yeah, a shower sounded like a good idea. ((XDDDD "Ah, so it was something both men and women did. He was pleased he'd got that sorted out." *you know the sad part about that? I just spent like, ten minutes finding exactly how that went in the book -_-*))

So, as soon as Beatrix was through, he popped through the bathroom door after her, giving a surprised and rather irritated shout halfway through at the sudden icy-cool temperature the water had dropped to. Nevertheless, it aided him in finishing his shower quickly, and once he was dressed (if not still a bit soggy) he found Beatrix, who had thrown on a simple t-shirt and jeans (quite similar to his own, in fact) and was watching Emily and her friend trying out an old looking skateboard.

"How long do you think he'll be gone?" Enzo asked, suddenly not so reluctant to be close to Bee. It made him want to laugh - which, surprising to himself, he did. "I hope it works out, yeah? Cherokee needed this..." He gave a quiet sigh and wrapped his arms around Beatrix's waist from behind, resting his chin lightly on her shoulder. He seemed to be thinking then, his eyes had glazed over and while he was watching Emily, he wasn't really watching anything at all. "I really think I need some help," He muttered, miming the contents of a syringe being injected into his arm. "I'm tired of it, but I want it... I want it bad, Bee... All the time. Sometimes it's hard not to think about it..."

Enzo frowned, shaking his head, and taking a deep breath, "But first things first. We have to make sure Emily doesn't live on cereal and chocolate milk... Want to go into town tonight? Maybe we can do something fun, yeah?"

((And THAR it is! *laughs* Seriously though, I dunno where this is gonna go after Amma gets back... *pets the RP* Is it gonna be over? O.o or what man? I JUST DON'T KNOW! *waves arms and runs aboot* Bedtimeeeee. *gurgles*

Oh yeah, and speaking of books... J? Now, a good book, my friend, is Good Omens. READ IT NOW! *commands and runs off cackling wildly*))

I mean...I'm not the only one who can control the gang members...if you catch my drift...or perhaps other people...just letting you guys knooooowwww.))

((Hahaah, yeah. The Scarlett letter is a CLASSIC. Twilight is just a horrible book. And you know that's true when I can't rant about how horrible it is for 20+ minutes. ASK ALA~! SHE WAS THAR!))

YAY GOOD OMENS! GO TYPING GOOO!!!))

"I said ANYWHERE." Cherokee repeated smiling. "So I mean anywhere." He shrugged his shoulders a little.

He then smiled with his eyes. "I don't think I'd mind so much what you did as long as you were with me." He said with just as wicked smile back in her direction. "Do what you want, I'm yours."

Cherokee halted in his steps however as Amma placed herself in front of him. He looked down at her, smile somewhat fallen. "Then you shouldn't be angry." He said quietly with his hands around her waist. "And don't think you're the only one selfish... I came here to keep you all to myself." He partly joked with a titled grin.

He might have made a remark about the soap opera comment, but found instead he was being kissed and being himself he was rather distracted by the kiss instead and forgot what he might have been thinking. And then Amma pulled away gliding back out the doors and before he could even begin to think about ducking was pelted in the face with a dirty snowball. He stood there, eyes closed, as snow dripped freezing from his face and down into his shirt.

After hearing the terms he wiped the melted slush from his face (a few people around him laughing under their breath) and jogged out after her. "That was CHEATING... and I don't want a lip ring!" He called on the sidewalk. Cherokee had always though an ear piercing was all a man would ever needed body piercing wise."I guess that means I'm allowed to play low too." He remarked with a jaunty smile on his face.

Stooping he created a large snowball in his large hands and glanced around for any signs of her. Catching sight of what might have been her hair he took a few running steps in that direction and lugged his massive snowball with an accuracy of a snowball throwing professional.

((GO BEEE GOOOO!!!))

Beatrix seemed quite pleased by the smile on her face as Enzo hugged her from behind, his chin on her shoulder. She ruffled his hair with a hand and then let both hands rest over his own. "He'll be back soon. He wouldn't leave Emily alone too long." She replied easily and then smiled. "Yeah. Poor lonely sap REALLY needed this. I'll be super pissed if it doesn't work!" She announced.

Emily laughed rather loudly as her friend, a small redheaded boy with an exceptionally round face and an abundance of freckles, fell off the skateboard with a very surprised look on his face. After a moment he looked to Emily laughing and started to laugh too. Beatrix had to laugh a little under her breath as the little boy stood to let Emily have a turn with the old skateboard, rubbing at his abused rear end.

Though, she looked back at Enzo on her shoulder as he spoke. Her eyebrows furrowed and she leaned her head against his. "I'm tired of it too." She tried to reply lightly, but nothing could hide the sadness in her voice. "But we'll work on it... right? It'll help that you want to stop." She said quietly, and then quirked her mouth. "If I have anything to do with it it's going to be SO GONE you won't even know what it is anymore!"

At Enzo's next words she smiled broadly. Emily seemed to hear and she leapt off her skateboard. "I wanna go out!" She shouted happily. "I LIKE going out!" She closed the space between them, the little red headed boy watching her with raised eyebrows.

Beatrix laughed and moved out of the way so Emily could cling to her uncle's ankles. "We really going out?" She asked hopefully.

"Yeah, yeah, Uncle Enz!" Beatrix mimed in the same excited voice. "We going out for a night on the town?!"

Amma leaned over and began to quickly work another ball of sloppy snow in her hands. Her fingers were cold and wet but that didn't matter. She had done it before around five years ago, why not now? She was used to the snow and the cold and the wet, she was used to it. Sometimes she felt she shouldn't be so adapted to horrible weather, but that's what happens when you never left such a place in your life.

"I was NOT cheating! You just weren't paying attention!" She cried out loud and turned around just to be greeted with a large, wet snowball onto her suprised face. She stumbled back and fell onto her ammo, her long leather jacket covering her jeans just in time so they didn't soak. "Now THAT was cheating!" She yelped and rubbed at her face, snow dripping off her chin and jaw line. "And you got my hair wet! Don't think this isn't war now buddy." She growled, in good humor of course, and lifted a hand full of snow, walked over to him smoothly and smashed it onto his face again, rubbing her hands over his cheeks, forehead, and eyes.

"Hehehe, I'm the snow queen, you can't beat me. So hopefully you aren't scared of needles, Big Guy." She then twirled behind him and grabbed another snow ball. "You better not turn around or you're face is gonna freeze pretty soon." She cackled and took a step away from him, watching him as she got some more snow into her other hand.

"Come on, you aren't scared are you? You haven't gotten soft YET have you? Too used to heat now I bet, can't get a bit too cold now." Her face was now just wet from the metled snow and her tongue licked some of it off her tongue. "A little Chicago snow never hurt anyone."

((haha sorry it's short, but I needa go get ready for a party. xp ))
