Captain Hiei First of all, guys. Why hate Shigure? (Saw a lot of hate on page one.) I dunno why, but Shigure=beast. Why hate? Second of all, my least favorite character of yyh (though I have a hard time disliking anyone made by Togashi) is: Kurama.WOAH! that's different! I haven't seen too many yyh fans that don't like Kurama!! Why don't you like Kurama exactly? (just wondering, not flaming or anything) sweatdrop

I would have to say my least favorite character is YUKINA!! >__< Sorry I just hate her! She is just REALLY dumb. I just can't stand her! She's just so ditsy and I think the only reason why Hiei cares about her is just because she's his sister... if she was just some random girl I really don't think that he would like her at all... either that or he'd just ignore her.
AND I REALLY DISLIKE KURAMA X YUKINA PAIRINGS!!!!!!!!!! YUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!

Akira-chan-13 I would have to say my least favorite character is YUKINA!! >__< Sorry I just hate her! She is just REALLY dumb. I just can't stand her! She's just so ditsy and I think the only reason why Hiei cares about her is just because she's his sister... if she was just some random girl I really don't think that he would like her at all... either that or he'd just ignore her. AND I REALLY DISLIKE KURAMA X YUKINA PAIRINGS!!!!!!!!!! YUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK! I don't think she's dumb...she comes from a sheltered society where love with men and contact with the outside world is forbidden...plus I think deep down, she knows Hiei is her brother.

You want to know WHY I dislike Kurama? Well, okay, you asked for it:
When I first got into YYH, Hiei was my favorite character. When I first got into the fandom, I didn't realize that it was cliche to like Hiei. I thought Kurama was the favorite by, like, tons.
So anyway, when I saw all the KxH stuff, it annoyed me. I was like "Ew. Kurama go away."
But then I began to warm up to yaoi. It takes time to adjust when you're like 14 years old at first. But anyways... When the yaoi faze hit, I realized my love in life was YxH. heart Actually, that's on the hard side when it comes to finding fandom that I haven't all ready drooled over.
SOOO the hate for Kurama began to resurface because he began to interfere in my fandom. FOR EXAMPLE, there's so much KxH fandom, it's hard to find much else. Also, he ruins so much YxH fandom.
Yusuke: Hiei I <3 your face.
Hiei: That's nice, but I <3 Kurama's face.
OR
Hiei: I <3 Yusuke!
Kurama: No, I <3 Yusuke!
Yusuke: biggrin I <3 Kurama in the end!
Etc. etc. Stuff like that just made a grudge form. Especially when I read fanfiction. One time, though I can't remember why, I was reading a fic I liked and Kurama pissed me off so much that I broke my sister's action figure of him. In half. Which half you ask? Well, let's just say that Kurama became a woman that day.
To relate with the fandom, I don't really care for that many KxH supporting doujinshi authors that most people love. WHY!? Because Hiei is NOT a toddler, so he shouldn't be drawn to look like one. And secondly, if Hiei isn't looking like he's six years old in the doujin, then he's being pretty much raped by Kurama. Ew. No.
Like 90% of KxH doujin:
Hiei: Don't touch me there.
Kurama: You're feelings don't matter. You'll get used to it like it.
Hiei: Nope... I still don't like it.
Kurama: I do, too bad. Love me! heart
Melissa: gonk emo
Why?
Lastly, I wasn't too much in love with the actually Kurama from the anime/manga either. I never thought he or Youko was good looking. (I know. GASP! I think Yusuke's waaaay hotter than Kurama.) I never liked his personality. I never liked his attacks. I just didn't like him. The other characters just had more personality to them, I dunno.
The only good thing Kurama ever did was tell Yusuke that Hiei was beginning to like him in the Maze Castle arc. xD!

*hugs you* Diversity makes the world go round! I love your comment about the figurine though...*sniggers*...The one thing I'm happy about is that your reason for not liking him was just popularity...I think popularity is the worst excuse someone can use because there is no real reasoning behind it...like you aren't putting your heart into what you stand for...you gave a bunch of reasons (and examples that made me laugh) and that is why you are awesome. heart Although, I will say that blaming things not pertaining to the anime/manga (fanfics, fandom) and breaking your's sibling's toy was a little too far.

Botan is ditzier than Yukina much of the time... and Yukina isn't even ditzy, Yukina is ignorant. She was isolated from society by her people, not knowing much about the world around her isn't her fault. And honestly, if you claim she's stupid because she doesn't know who Hiei is to her, you are DEAD WRONG. Yukina knows, we can tell she knows. She calls Hiei "Nii-san" in the Japanese version, you know what "nii-san" means.... It's NOT a kind of car. It means "brother". So really, watch the show a little closer and then decide if you hate Yukina so much.

The only good thing Kurama ever did was tell Yusuke that Hiei was beginning to like him in the Maze Castle arc. xD! Hm. I rather disagree that he had less personality than everyone else; I think he has the most complex psyche of anyone in the series. That said, if you didn't warm up to him, you probably didn't bother to go very deep into his character, for which I can't fault you; it's hard to care about or even get to know characters towards whom your initial reaction is lackluster. Kudos for being forthright. Although I'm slightly confused as to how fandom could make you hate him -- but then, I suppose if you're terminally annoyed by his presence in shonen-ai, that could get old quickly. In short, you're the first person I've met to have this opinion of him, and it rather fascinates me. You're also awesome for backing it up. heart
