Kindred looked away from his pizza at the mention of his name. He didn't think anyone had actually heard anything about him being as they all were leaving when he finally made it. He gave a small smile and wave to Seamus and then Liam. "Hey." he said and then was at a complete loss as to what to say afterwards.

Lucky for the older boy, Liam seemed to have quite a bit to say. Kindred chuckled at the tv show comment. when it was on he was probably too young to have cared. "TV?" Kindred responded to Liam's question. "No, I don't watch really any of it. They don't really have tvs at.... well, where I've lived."

Orpheus shrugged. "Ehhh... not really. She was asleep most of the time... and I was too young to really be of any use as far as taking care of her went.... I think all I ever really did was find her wherever she fell asleep - and that was mostly just 'cos I'm enough of a klutz to trip over pretty much anything," he murmured with a small, slightly sheepish grin. Amazingly enough, this was the most emotion Orpheus had shown in quite some time.

Aiden ate another three slices of pizza - he couldn't help it. He was always so used to food being limmited that having so much felt... strange. In his world, leftovers did not exist. Any and all food was consumed almost immidiately.

Then, another slice of pizza in hand, he sidled over to the group that was engrosed in conversation.

"Heeeeeeeeeeeey, Oriel," he said brightly, slinging his arms comfortably around the other's neck. Orpheus looked over at Aiden, his expression clearly showing annoyance.

The two weren't exactly friends, per se. But they were... more than strangers.

"What?" Orpheus asked, scowling lightly.

"You have something on your face," Aiden said, grinning lightly as he wiped some sauce off of the other's cheek. Then he unwound his arms from the younger (in age, not appearance) teen's neck and finished off his own slice of pizza.

Seamus grinned at the goth boy's expression. He was so much more approachable- and likeable- when he showed his emotions. "Yeah, I can relate to that. My friend Christie is a complete and total klutz, and she'd always barrel into me, asleep or awake. One time, we were sitting in our school's cafeteria, and she started to get up but slipped on some food under the table, so she ended up doing an accidental backwards roll onto the ground by the trash can. Freakin' hilarious." Deciding to try his luck and tease the other boy, he asked, "So, am I liable to be tripped over by you, or have you passed your clumsy stage in life?"

But before Orpheus could answer, Aiden started to jokingly mother him. He had just finished off another piece of pizza when he picked up on Liam and Kindred's conversation about TV. Ah, male bonding time.

"Unlike Kindred, I used to veg. out in front of the TV on Saturday mornings. Cartoons, and all that. The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy is my favorite. Although House, M.D. is cool too. Never could stand watching sports. And I'm gonna take a wild guess here and say that TV is one of Liam's hobbies....but what about you, Kindred? Do you-"

But apparently all of the day's excitement had come at a price, as evidenced by his spontaneous lapse into sleep. Luckily for him, his head was the only thing that drooped, but although he was still standing, his plate of pizza fell to the ground with a squelch.

((x3 I luff Seamus. <3

Ohyah. And so everyone knows, I have an RL friend who will hopefully be joining this RP in a bit. =3 ))

Orpheus followed Seamus with his eyes, unable to help an increasingly annoyed feeling towards Aiden for interupting one of the few conversations he had had going in quite some time. Of course, if he thought about it more, he should have been happy for the opportunity to lapse back into silent withdrawl.

His mind snapped back to the present as he heard the plate fall to the floor (luckily it was paper) as Seamus' head drooped. Orpheus sighed softly and set his plate down before making his way over to the sleeping boy. "I'll take him back to our room..." he murmured slowly, his emotions receeding back into that dark, dull cavity inside himself.

He slung the unconsious Narcoleptic's arm over his own shoulder and then proceeded to half carry, half drag him down the hall. Once he reached their room, he opened the door silently and proceeded to dump the sleeper quite unceremoniously onto his bed.

Liam gave Kindred a long, rather disbelieving look. Where he lived? What was he, an alien? He certainly didn’t look like he came from a third world country. It was, after all, impossible for anyone in America to not have a tv. Most families had two-point-five televisions. Or wait, maybe that was children. It was as he was pondering this fact that Seamus collapsed, and it made him tense up, his panic mode preparing to kick in but thwarted by Oriel’s decisive actions and rather manly handling of the situation.

“...” He just didn’t know what to say, but it didn’t seem appropriate to say anything - just in case the other boy could still hear them while he was sleeping. Instead, Liam’s attention turned to Aiden as he finished yet another piece of pizza, and he nudged his plate over towards him. “Here, you can have mine...” he offered, putting on one of his uneasy smiles, an expression that looked as pasted on as any one of Mr. Potatohead’s grins, “You’ll have to pay me back though....” It was the first joke he had made with any of the boys, and it was clear that it wasn’t something he normally did, as he didn’t know how to make it flow casually, feeling the need to wink dramatically and brush it off with a hurried “Just kidding..”

Aiden cocked his head to one side in a curious manner. "Ehh... you don't tell jokes much, do you?" he said sweetly, a light smile on his candy-pinked lips. "You're just like my sister... 'course, she might have changed.... I... haven't really seen her in almost a year...." he murmured with a small shrug, smiling at the other to show that it was no big deal. But that was, as ever, a lie. Of course he cared. He had been at the RRC for about three months and nearly nine months before that his younger sister had taken off with that... man. Aiden was almost always concerned about her - was she being treated alright? Was the man being cruel to her? She was only fourteen - well, fifteen now, but Aiden had missed her birthday.

Just like his sister? That was a weird thing to say. Straightening his posture, he put on his most “macho” face - an expression that was in between Justin’s angry look and a Las Vegas lounge singer. “Hey, I’m all man,” he retorted in a tone much deeper than normal. The funny (or perhaps sad) thing was, Liam wasn’t really joking now. He honestly was trying to prove that he wasn’t as feminine as Aiden presumed. His ‘manly’ facade was beginning to slowly fade, however, as the boy continued on about his sister. “Oh... I’m sorry. I’m sure you’ll see her again soon!” Optimism wasn’t exactly his shtick, but there was nothing wrong with trying to make someone feel better. “Don’t get too fat eating all this though. Your fans would be upset.” Continuing his goal of making Aiden feel cheery, he rolled his eyes over towards Tristan and wiggled his eyebrows a little, only to brush his temple with a ginger touch in an attempt to look casual and innocent.

"Huh? Oh no... I didn't mean you were girly... Nah, that's my job," he murmured with a slightly sheepish grin as he gestured at his bright hair. "I just meant... the two of you seemed kinda... similar. Like she was jittery a lot and could never really tell a joke... just because she wasn't the type of person who could really trick others. She wasn't simple... just honest," Aiden said with a slightly reminiscent smile. It was quite clear that he was very fond of his sister.

"Fan...club?" Aiden asked, genuinely confused. Then he saw the other's look and he giggled slightly. "Don't worry, I have a very good metabolism. And no fan club to worry about. I left them back home with the rest of my raving fangirls," he said, grinning.

Kindred felt the look he was getting from Liam. That look of 'do you live under a rock?" Kindred was going to elaborate that it was infact homeless shelters that he had been in and out of and not some cave in the middle of no where, but then Kindred became aware of why Seamus was at RRC.

Kindred stared at the now asleep boy before another 'patient' came over and took ahold of the situation. Kindred had only heard of narcolepsy, but had never actually seen someone with it. It was weird.. and mildly funny but he stifled any laughter he felt rising up.

His attention then turned towards the conversation between Aiden and Liam. he chuckled at both of them. And to think, one of these kids might be his roommate.

“Honest... yeah...” That was probably an overstatement. Liam rarely felt as though he was being honest, which was probably why he was always so jumpy. “Well... I’m glad you’re enjoying this... kind of meal.” As for Liam, he felt that he was lucky that the smell didn’t bother him too much, but the thought of putting the doughy mess of tomato sauce and cheese in his mouth made him feel a little queasy. Catching Kindred’s gaze, he tried on another smile. After all, being social and assertive was what it was going to take to get out of this mess. “And... how about you, Kinny... er, Kindred.” Making up nicknames wasn’t a great way to start out, especially if he upset the older boy, which was not something he wanted to do. “...Enjoying your... food?”

Kindred repressed a flinch at the name Kinny. He disliked his name as is, nicknames didn't make it any better, espicially that one. He looked down at his pizza. One of the three slices had been eaten and now the other two awaited the same fate.

He looked back at Liam and just shrugged. "Food is food." he responded. Kindred noticed that Liam hadn't eaten any of his food. Maybe he was anorexic? Maybe thats why he was here? Kindred really wasn't sure as to what problems the RRC covered other than socially behavioral ones like he had. But han the narcoleptic was here. Kindred was tempted to ask why Liam or any of the others was here and but then feared the question in return.

"Not a pizza fan? he asked after a moment.

Wow, he had really walked right into that one. Normally, Liam tried very hard not to make his unusual eating habits visible to the public, but he had slipped up. Maybe that was the point of this place - to slip up. But that didn’t mean that Liam felt like admitting every single detail about his personality and -quirks- as he liked to consider them. “No... not really...” He trailed off as he considered the best way to put it. As Aiden had noticed earlier, he was a terrible liar, but now, -technically- he wasn’t lying, even if doctors and nutritionists had told him that it was all in his head. “It gives me a stomachache. A lot of things do. I... have a sensitive digestive system, I guess.” He wasn’t sure if he should leave it at that, after all it sounded like he was starving, since all of the meals here were communal. “Um, but don’t worry about me, Fanny, err that is, the cook here, makes me things to eat, separate.”
PostPosted: Fri Dec 29, 2006 6:52 pm

Aiden didn't mean to eavesdrop... but there was currently nothing else for him to occupy himself with, as Orpheus had left, while he scarfed down another piece of pizza. He wrinkled his nose slightly at the mention of 'sensitive stomach.' It could be true... but from where Aiden stood, it sounded like a load of anerexia mixed with squemish eating bullcrap. At his home... you ate what there was, no questions asked. Who knew exactly what was in the food poor people ingested, anyway? It was better just to eat it and not question it... or the meal might not stay down.

That thought made a none-too-pleasant smile form on his lips and he hastilly took another bite of pizza to clear his mouth of the memories of the nonhomecooked meals from back home.

Liam, however, seemed quite different. Judging by his clothes, he was probably rich. And his actions - being picky about what he ate, even if he had a 'sensitive digestive system' - wreaked of a spoiled childhood... which was one of the few things that had always irked Aiden.

But... he shouldn't feel angry towards the other just because of his upbringing and home life. THat... wasn't right. He should feel bad about himself just for thinking those things. And he did.

((Okie... my post steadily declined to become crap. D: ))
