I'm Keli, and I'm a sophmore in College in a theatre department that thinks I'm too loud and annoying so I never get casted or put in the crew, but you REALLY don't want me to start into that. I've only done one play in college and that's a one act. (the student director liked me) I'm a Creative Writing and Theatre double major, and I like it no matter how much I complain. And.... Theatre rocks!

Hi. I'm Ayame, call me ayame, aya, allyie, alicia, leasha, leashy...anything round there.
I am 18, and attend my local community college. I just graduated my highschool. I am a techie. I love the theatre, and I love every aspect of it, but I prefer tech work over everything. my favorite thing of tech is to build sets. I love to build costumes as well. I love props. I am not very good at lights & sounds though i love them. I love house and publicity as well.
In middle school, I was entirely an actress, but my last two years of highschool, when I got back into theatre, I was in tech. I have a been a prop crewhead a few times, and for a pop show(choir's show, techies do the backstage work for them) i was on personal microphones(WHICH WAS THE MOST FUN EVER)
I've worked on "Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up?"(props assistant) "Crunched Classics: 15 Minute Hamlet, Desire Desire Desire, and Medea(Tom Stoppard, Durang, and someone else...) Proof: Props crewhead, On The Razzle:I acted, waitress/citizen no lines.(it was entertaining to do acting...)Footloose:The Musical-Props Crewhead, and Daddy's Dying, Who's got the will?-Prop crewhead.
I haven't really done any tech at my college, because...they just did Daddys Dying, and I did not wish to go through that again(too many memories), but maybe in the next play they put on, i'll interview for something.
Tech has persuaded me to become an architect, or a carpenter, or a costumer, or fashion designer, or a makeup artist.
I love tech with all my heart. Anything else you might want to you, just ask me mrgreen

My name is Samantha, I am 24. Unfortunetly I am too busy with work to do theatre anymore. I was in theatre in high school. I was lucky enough to land two leads my senior year. A little bit about myself: I work as an accountant/bookkeeper/payroll clerk and tax preparer. I do alot of reading, and spending time at home. I have twin brothers who are 16. Its their fault that I am now loving Gaia..lol.. I'm a really big dork, but I love that. My family is really important to me.

Hello! Unfortunatley I discovered this thread really late.. My name is Camille and I like to act and LOVE to sing! I am a Soprano 1 so I can go really high. I have been into drama and Choir since 6th grade and I am now an freshman in High school. I have been in about 5 real plays and I'm working on my next one which is Les Miserables that my High school is doing. I have gotten some minor and chorus roles but never a lead. That is my dream for theater, to some day get a lead. The only thing is..... I'm really bad at developing and staying in character sweatdrop So I am always eager for acting tips and advice. Byes!! wink

Hey, My name's Trish. I'm a 3rd yr semester freshman with a major in theatre. I love to perform on stage, it is one of the best feelings that i had ever experienced. the first time that i had ever performed on a stage, i felt like i'd discovered something so incredible, that it's hard to even describe now. I know it's a long shot, and probably risky, but this is honestly something that i want to strive for as a life long career. Actors truly are the avante gardes of communication and inspiration.

Hi, my name is Ann. I'm 21 (22 in December!) and a senior at Virginia Tech, double majoring in English and Theatre Arts. I'm a jack-of-all-trades backstage - I just finished assistant stage managing Bat Boy: The Musical, and am starting work as a dramaturg on The Other Shore as well as directing Once on this Island. I love theatre, and though I'm pretty sure it's what's making my blood pressure rocket through the roof, I wouldn't do anything else. My boyfriend - an actor - and I are planning to move to Chicago when we graduate in May and try and make our marks there. Glad to meet you all!

Hallo! I'm Aries, and I just saw this thread on the guild. A bit late. Whoops.
I'm 15 (16 in under a month), and a junior in high school on the East Coast, who's just starting to feel the pressure of college and career decisions, etc. I love performing and singer. Unfortunately, for the first 9 years of my education I was in a school with little to no drama program (what there was, I did; 3 student-made shows put together on grants, a strangem strange musical adaptation of the Wizard of Oz at another school, and 4 years of Destination Imagination.) Being thrown into a high school in a city where every elementary school had awesome drama and musical theatre programs was very, very intimidating, but I got involved in theatre there, however behind I was. I just switched schools, and sort of by accident (drama class semester 1 was full...) joined chorus. I have played guitar since about 3rd grade, but I only really realized, and fell in love with, the gorgeous instrument which is the human voice when I became an obsessive fan of the musical Wicked, and particularly hearing Idina Menzel sing, after a friend sent me a clip of herself singing "Thank Goodness." This also launched me into a love for the professional aspect of musical theatre, as opposed to only the ammature (and VERY good) shows I have been loving since as long as I can remember.
I just finished my first show being a techie, Little Shop of Horrors. What I have learned from the process; if you are going to do any sort of revolving or rotating set, have enough money for a motor, or be prepared for a helluva lot of trouble.
This is very long-winded, isn't it? I currently have time on my hands, because I'm sick. And missing the last day of strike because of it. I despise the fact that it is pretty much impossible to be involved in both competitive high school sports and theatre. I find that sports and drama balance and aid eachother in so many ways, and they should not under any circumstances be exclusive.
Also, while I understand the need for competition in theatre, I hate it, as much and more than I hate the competition in sports. I am someone who just recently realized some of to what extend I love the art of theatre, and that if given the chance I might want to stay with it for the rest of my life. I am also someone who had very little acting and singing experience, and no dance excperience before high school. No one in my family is, or has ever been involved in the performing arts, and my parents never forced me into ballet lessons or children's singing groups when I was little. I'm extremely shy, and while this is ultimately one of the largest reasons I love theatre, and my greatest source of motivation and inspiration, it means no one ever saw me as a theatre person, or push me toward acting. It's tough.
And...if anyone successfully read through all that rambling and ranting, and still has any respect for me, thank you. You hopefully understand/know me just a little bit more.

Good evening all.
I'm Ross, a 19 year old theater major at Catawba College. Going for a BFA in Directing (if all goes well of course). I've been in theater a general portion of my life, and been involved with a good number (around 50 last check) of productions. Big and small, plays and musicals, onstage, backstage, pit, booth. You name it, I've been there. I'm glad to be here and can't wait to chat with you fellow acolytes of thespian persuasion. smile
