"It can." The reply came back coolly, even as he didn't miss a beat. He stared towards Ezekiel, his voice unwavering with the resolve he had undertaken. "No, it must."

He could see Ezekiel lower his arm, his standpoint faltering, and Victor chose to press on.

"Will there be sacrifice?

Yes, and not just you devils, but innocents, as well." Victor lowered his head, even as Ezekiel gained confirmation of what he had suspected all along; Victor meant to use them all as far as he could...and when his goal was completed...they would be...

"Even so-- no-- because of that, I cannot stop. Even if I need to cheat or to hurt others, I must persevere." He stood up from the pool, facing Ezekiel fully.

"To that end, I must become destruction incarnate. I must spill more blood, so the blood already spilt will not be in vain." He smiled, even as he turned a bit away.

"But, --------, no one is forcing you to stay."

His eyes widened, even as he stared towards Victor.

"!!" The man had truly, just spoken his name... his True Name.

The Geas of the Forbidden Fruit was no longer upon Ezekiel...he was free to do as he pleased now..released from any and all servitude of the Murmillion!

"Ezekiel, if you wish to leave....now would be the time."

Victor turned his back to the devil as he began stepping out of the pool, dripping all along the hardened floor.

He stared at the back of the Murmillion, nothing but confusion and bewilderment taking hold of his mind at first...

...Until that nagging familiar curiosity began to settle in. This man...no matter how I look at it...this man has the fates swirling all around him.

He stared hard, even as he shrugged his shoulders.

"I will walk with you, by your side." Victor smiled to himself, even as Ezekiel lowered his head and knelt to the floor on one knee. "Fah."

I cannot help...but look at this man...and be compelled to follow...to see, what there is left to see.

Of this world.

A smile clung to his face even as he kept his back to Ezekiel.

Just as planned. He clenched at the keepsake kept around his neck, even as he finally reached down for a robe. And now the rest of the pieces should be moving... yes... with this...all of this in place...

He set his face grimly, even as he turned to face Ezekiel.

"I assume the Finals are over?"

"They are." Raising his head enough to look towards Victor, he responded without missing a beat.

"As was agreed upon...several prominent cities have been attacked. With most of the more powerful, if not resourceful, persona's at the Stadium, there should be little resistance..... and plenty of confusion to be had."

He hadn't quite realized the full extent that this human was willing to go to before... from sacrificing his personal entourage up as hosts for the devils... to silencing off an entire clandestine Clan of Assassins...and now this...

It was an odd way to go about saving his people, to be sure.

Meanwhile, as Ra'Kar, Malachi, Malice, Alpha, and unknowningly, Victor and Tellus are in the Dead Forest and Stadium...

Whump whump whump whump whump THUNK!

That's the sound Matthew Rice would make as, once again reassuming material form, he would let go of Rae's arm, and get thrown forward with his momentum. He bounced (in the mundane sense) and rolled across the ground, before crashing into a conveniently placed tree, landing upside down, eyes spinning.

"Orrooo...." User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Falling back so his keister was upturned, presented for everyone to see, he would slowly sit up, shaking off the effects of the rough landing.

"What in the name of Gaia was that?!" he would exclaim, not expecting the transfer to be... anything of that sort.

Alarmed, he would look to the left, then to the right, then to the left again, then over his shoulder, finally spotting Rae.

"Is... is this Eden?" he would ask, crawling over to her in an effort to keep his head down. Suddenly, he would raise a finger to his lips.

Time to power up, for GREAT JUSTICE!

Quote:
"Scent of Running Water" - A gift that is always active, and can be turned on and off at will. At the user's discretion, they can mystically hide their scent, making them much more difficult to track by scent alone.

Quote:
"Rabbit Run" - By spending a gnosis trait, the user's running speed is doubled for the entire scene.

Quote:
"Master of Fire" - By spending a gnosis trait, the user of this gift heals Fire damage as if it were bashing damage. This gift lasts for either the rest of the scene, or for one hour, whichever is longer.

Gnosis remaining: 6/8

"Stay here while I have a look-a-round, okay? I'll be back before you know it."

Winking to Rae, Matthew Rice, a.k.a. Xochipilli Fools-the-Reaper, turned to head into whatever constituted as the base on this island: City, castle, cathedral, it was all greek to him whatever it was. He knew he would know what it was he was looking for when he found it.

As he would get up, he would activate one last Gift before going on his way...

Quote:
"Blur of the Milky Eye" - This makes the gift's user much more difficult to percieve with natural, unmagical vision. They are blurry and tend to blend it to their surroundings, and generally aren't noticed until they make themselves visible by interacting with the environment. Once noticed, they remain noticed until they can escape notice or the viewer is otherwise distracted for a moment. The user is not invisible, but simply much harder to percieve, like a chameleon. (System: Manipulation + Stealth, difficulty 8; 1 success needed, 3 for complete success).

Partial Success: Should be harder to notice for people who aren't actively looking for Fools-the-Reaper.

AND THE TIME....

He'd already seen to Victor, the man having left strict instructions with him that the boy he had brought with him was not to be disturbed, and was free to wander about the main castle as he pleased...

Of course, Ezekiel wondered what the point in this was...but he apparently had become designated as Rand's caretaker.

He was in charge of Eden's movement at the moment, having temporary access to the node that Victor usually interacted with in order to operate the landmass, and they had finally broken out of the Void-- and over the Dead Forest itself...with the stadium in sight as well.

....WE STAND IN...

"...." He stood there, his eyes closed as he attuned himself to the crystal node in front of himself, gaining viewpoints outside of Eden itself..and with that, he was able to use his soul sight on a large scale, using the crystalline structure surrounding Eden to amplify his 'radar'.

He found Malachi easily enough...then Alpha... then Victor...Ra'Kar...Tellus...something else... and others...it seemed skirmishes had broken out everywhere...

Typical human behavior...

And then he felt the tug of power, as his eyes were drawn to the Dead Forest-- as the glyph activated.

And just as Victor had ordered him to-- a small cadre of Shades had been prepared for just this occasion.

Which meant it was going to be time to leave soon.
NEVER CEASES.

And just in time...a tear would form ahead of Ezekiel, within the middle of the Audience Chamber-- with Victor himself stepping in moments later.

"Master."

"Well, that was eventful."

He smiled even as he stood there for a moment, getting his bearings back on track, before moving to the side to give room to the people coming right behind him.

Lady Rakar

Shameless Exhibitionist

PostPosted: Wed Jun 25, 2008 1:12 am

Ra'kar stepped through the tear in dimensions, exiting the Dead Forest and returning home to Eden. Coming through the gate behind Victor, she was smiling as Tellus carrying a KO'ed Teira brought up the rear.

"Eventful? Oh very. But it's early yet, the party's not over... right?"

She smirked contently as her mind sifted through everything that had just unfolded, and what was yet to come. She savoured it on her tongue like a luxurious chocolate that melted in her mouth and brought her the tastiest of pleasures.

"What of your knight?"

Tellus came through the portal slowly. Teira might not weigh much, but she was still a dead weight. She lifted those green eyes humbly and inquired.

"What would you have me do with the girl, Mistress?"
