"And you protsest to much..." said Thomas, shruging and taking a few steps back. "All I know, is that your the only one I've seen so far that can manipulate light like that." He then pointed towards Kren, "And we can be certain thats how this poor b*****d died."

Caylem put on his coat. "I'm leaving." he said tossing the card behind him. He walked out of the mansion.

"Should I stop him now?" said Thomas to Grene, tenticles of darkness rising form his shadows and snaking down the path Caylem had taken.

"Ouch." said Thomas in a hurmored way. "This debuncts my theory." said thoms walking closer to the corpse. "Now who else could use light like this... You wouldn't happen to hgave a magic detector on you?" he said, glancing up at Grene.

"So, who do you susspect at this point?" he says, folowing him, and picking up a glass of a very dark wine. "Mr. Mute wasn't one of you suspects, was he?" he says in a bemused manner which betrayed the slightest hint of concern.

"well, this case seems to be closed..." says Thomas with a pang of remorse in his voice. He wasn't serious when he hinted at it being Caylem, but the evidence apeared overwhellming. "If you need me, just look in the shadows..." he said, gving a very rough wave as he walked out the door.

-----Event----- The strong winds from Frosty Mountain have carried a bank of clouds over the area. Within minuets, the clouds have spread a pure white blanket over everything in the area. However, much of the snow is being blown inside through the open doors and windows, and begins to dye itself red, weather or not there was blood on the ground.

A shambling monster came in through the ajar door, draging with it web like hands of clossal porportions. Its skin studed with red spike, tight ren skin hanging ove blackened muscles pinioned by the spines.
It proced through the building, ad collected up the body of Kren, taking the body of the failed assassin as well.
It breathed heavily, and left, one body in each hand...

(( from the marketplace )) Lord Chancellor Farthersomewich and his valet escorted Sir Andre Devereux and Dling Aling (both wearing official-looking fancy uniformish outfits) into the palace audience hall. "...will be here in this audience hall." Farthersomewich was explaining, "And once Her Ladyship arrives, we'll have you knighted, Mr. Aling."

"Farthersomewhich!" An old woman's voice shouted. "Why don't you check to see if we're already here, before you talk about us arriving?"
Her Royal Ladyship the Dowager Grand High Duchess Arlen-Arell Pshaw'warrie of FerroRoof Hall d'Contessori had been napping, curled up in the exceptionally oversized throne located front and center in the audience hall. She was a rabbit in a fancy gown and big foofy wig and she now sat up on her back legs, smoothing her gown out around her with her dainty front paws. It covered down past her feet entirely but wasn't much longer than that, so it sort of looked like she was standing on the seat of the throne, about 5 feet high including her wig, 4 feet without it.
The throne itself was large, with the gilded armrests about 2-and-a-half feet above the velvet-cushioned seat. It was set up on a platform with a few steps leading all the way up to the seat so Her Ladyship could hop up onto it without needing assistance. She put her front paws on one of the armrests and leaned over to look at those who had just come in. Her face was about at the level of those of Andre and Dling, but from her view she could of course look down on Farthersomewhich. He was tall, but not THAT tall.
"Chancellor, come here!" she commanded sharply. To the valet, she said: "Fetch the sword!"
Then she smiled pleasantly at Dling and Andre and cheerfully waved them over, too. "We were given word that you were coming, it's such a treat to have a knighting. And Sir Devereux, how nice to see you again."

Dling stood there, stunned by all the suddennessnessness and to be standing there before the queen of byako, that notorious cotton tailed queen Contessori.
Meanwhile a couple of random nobles were doing a little dance around the queen and the throne. "A knighting, a knighting, were gonna have a knighting!"
