Once she was clean, she felt a lot more.... well, human. She paused before putting any of the new clothes on, running a hand over her belly as she looked at herself in the mirror. She had weight in places she had never had it before now, not that she was nywhere near fat... the small curve of where her hand rested made her sigh.
She stilkl wore her wedding band on her ring finger, it caught the light as she turned away from the mirror, and the haunted eyes she saw there.
pretty soon, she would not be able to squeeze into her fitted clothes anymore. perhaps it was time she went back into looser things anyway.
She knew Lena was waiting just outside the door, she had been talking softly wiht her ever since she was given the privacy of the bathroom. Lena had filled her in a great deal on what life in modern times was like- it would take a little getting used to, but that was nothing new. What she had to remember was that there were somethings that weren;t around yet- like her custom built hovercycle- that wouldn;t exist for another fifty years at least.
Putting the simple dress on, she again looked at herself in the mirror.
The dress was a little tight where her bosom pressed against it- that would have to be remedied, though the bindings hurt. Ah, a use ful question.
"Lena? IS there anything these days better than bandaging for the upper parts? they're tender, I'd hate to have to bind them up again."
She opened the door, the dress accentuating the soft curves she had (think Tyra Banks. curvy, not pudgy.), s well as the reason she had asked LEna about bras.

Ryo leans back, putting his hands behind his head.
"All right, looks like we have some work to do," he says, "anyone got a plan?"

Dannin walks up the stairs to a dark hall. On a throne, a tall woman dressed in black becons her forward. Dannin walks slowly, kneeling at the foot of the throne.
"Tusuki," Dannin says.
"Rise Dannin of the Flame," Tusuki says, "welcome home."

Lena's eyes sparkled with amusement as she leaned against the wall from opposite the doorway. She nodded with a smile, "Yes. In this era, they are called Bras. Much more comfortable then bandaging, though bandages have thier uses too. If you like, we can aquire some for you rather quickly, I'm certain. I can take you buy your place, or have one of the spirits pick one up for you. I'm certain Ikuul can do it without being seen."

"That would be welcome. There';s another thing I should ask you about, since I know it will have to be brought uop sooner rather than later."
a pause.
"I'm pregnant. I'm also probably due in four or five months or so, and I've no idea how such things are handled now, though I know they must have changed dramatically from the times I remember.... and whatever it is, can t be handled discreetly?"
she unconciously smoothed the dress, showing the small curve in her abdomen, before she folded her arms again.

Ryo rises, listening to the others and knocking on Dannin's door.
"Shade-sama," he says, "you ready? We could use some of yours and Lena's girl power in here. Dannin took off and we need an idea of what to do next."

Lena nodded with a smile, "I knew you were pregnant, but I hadn't realized you were that far along. Things here are handled by what we call Doctors and Physicians in hospitals. However, if you are more comfortable with a midwife or the like, I can easily bring one over from my tribe, who is familar with both the modern and the older ways of doing things. People in my land tend to age differently, so she's been around for quite a long while."
Lena blinked, looking over at the door, "Sure, if you give us a moment, Ryo!"
Sucking on her teeth, thoughtfully, she quickly closed her eyes, having the spirits do the errand of bring in undergarments for Shade. Turning about, she gestured at them, Ikuul having been as fast and efficient as always.

a pause.
"The one with blue eyes and auburn hair, I think he was called... Cye?..."
another pause as she looked down.
"The way he moves, and the way his presence resonates reminds me a lot of my anata. Which armor does he use?"

They're comming in a bit. So who saw Danni leave?
She said she's be back, but didn't say where.
I don't like the way she reacted to that name, there is more to her than you know, Ryo.
She's older than all of us by a few centuries at least, but she's not comming after us, which is a change from when we met.
Give her time, she does things her own way.

She followed Lena down, eyes distant until the conversation about Dani came through.
"I think I know what she went off to do, she'll be fine, leave it at that."
She folded her arms over her bosom, to try and conceal her curves, as she took a place agaiunst a wall. with her arms folded like that, her simple silver wedding band was visible, as was the sadness that seemed to radiate from her presence, as of she were refusing to shed tears over something.
Her calm, though, was foremost.
"tutsuki was just becoming a thread back when all of this priginally began. She is Talpa's daughter, as you all know, but more than that, she is far more intelligent than many have ever given her credit for."

A dry chuckle sounded from the doorway.
"That was never the right case for her. You see, she learned how to use allies exceptionally well. I see you all have met a much-younger version of myself."
Shade stood in the doorway, smiling bemusedly at what looked like her younger sister- her younger self.
(To avoid confusion: shadowsage = young shade)
Shadowsage bowed politely, smiling in equal amusement.
"I thought the switching thing was to try and avoid paradox."
"Well.... let's just say I've done my part and set the stage..... five thousand years and more ago. And, by you staying in the thick of things, Shadowsage, it would only create worse paradox. We're alone enough as it is."
The younger version looked at the older one, and after a half minute of silence, both of them began to chuckle softly.
In unison, "Ah. that's how it is."
From the younger Shadowsage, "Well, since I know the place, I will go off on my merry way, and leave you to the ones who know you."
The older one chuckled.
"Yes, alert me if the alarms don;t work."
The younger one summoned a very, very strange ancient's staff, and dissappeared in a soft shimmer of light.
Shade chuckled again at the facial expressions on everyone in the room.
"My apologies- I did not exactly choose the timing well. If it helps, call her Shadowsage and me Shade. The name difference is a good reflection on the changes in me over the intervening years as well. I'm sure soon enough we'll- or I'll- have to go guard shadowsage from some kind of attack, but for now, at least a month or two should pass quietly. Relatively speaking."
Shade took a seat, and looked at Ryo.
"I suggest you leave Dannin be and if she has done what I believe, play along. For now, though, I reccommend you all go looking for additions to your Armors."
(hey, dani, remember that summer plotline from long ago? pm it to me! - if you still have it. if not, I can easily wing it.)
