Ms Jo
Does planet of the apes series count?
That's the only one I could think of.

Hmm, I'm not sure about planet of the apes actually cuz I think that's more sci-fi rather than fantasy. What does everyone else think?

Simian is ape-like - right? Then how about Halo?
PostPosted: Tue Dec 05, 2006 9:24 am

Hmm, I don't know anything about Halo cuz I have yet to see more than what I already know about it. And the only thing I know about it is that it's the number one first person shooter available on the PC and X-box. Unless yer talking about a different "halo", of course. So, I don't know if it's sci-fi or fantasy. Does anyone know?

The "Brutes" on Halo are silverback gorilla types. I am still puzzled as to any other apes in sci-fi/fantasy as well. You asked a question that stumped me!

He-he, I guess I should congratulate myself as you must not be an easy person to stump. Are you now? mrgreen
I think I might have a new one next week. I just hope I can come back on monday to post it.

Really busy right now? We will miss the puzzlers/questions then.

It's not that I'm busy exactly, it's just that I can't think of a good question to post right now. If I can't come back on monday to post one, maybe someone else should do so... 3nodding

How about "Curious George"? (grin) vs 'Planet of the Apes"
Sci-fi and fantasy (grin)

How about a question like "What is the name of the villian you most love to hate"?

Yer welcome... Hey! Is that Mistletoe I see? Here's yer kiss! 4laugh
Merry Christmas!
PostPosted: Mon Dec 25, 2006 12:50 am

My husband is 6 foot 5 and about 250 pounds - so I feel very safe knowing that all kisses are from my good friends (grin) After almost 29 years of being married to this good guy I am finally feeling a little fiesty - just ask Jen. Well, maybe fiesty isn't the best word - a little more secure in myself but what is the word that means that?
I didn't think about what the mistletoe meant - just that it was pretty. How about that for a well read person! My husband tells me I am erudite, I tell him I just love to learn and read and am still a little naive and hasty even after 50 years of living.
This has been a fun and challenging thread and I have enjoyed your questions every week - am looking forward to the next one (whenever that comes - nudge and grin)
Thank you for being a good friend to the newbie on Gaia (me) - I am finally feeling a little more confident here - and I even got Drayal his last quest! YEAH! This is a fun community on the web.
I hope you have a VERY Merry Christmas and a VERY Happy and Prosperous New Year!
Sometime I would love to hear your traditions and what your beautiful country is like! You would too, wouldn't you Jen and Drayal and Sir Kirbance?

Well even though I don't really know you or yer husband, I think he's lucky to have a neat lady such as yourself. Wow! To think you have been together for that long is so... I don't know. I wish I could know what it's like to be able to share things with a person you love so much.
As for the mistletoe, we don't have that tradition here in Guatemala. I have seen enough movies to know about what it means though. I did have a nice x-mas night and although I didn't get any presents this time, it's no big deal. At least I had lots when I was a kid and that's when it counts. I don't know about anyone else but to me, x-mas feels like a holiday that is extra special for the children and, shouldn't be them enjoying it the most? Since you'd like to know a bit more about what we do here goes:
We usually have a nice dinner (said meal can vary as some folks have tamales while others have turkey or even pork) with family and/or friends; some people like to spend a lot of money on fireworks and the likes but I have never been a big fan of them. We stay up late in the night of the 24th and we open the gifts til 12:00, when the 25th starts. On my house though, we don't stay up late anymore. And that's all I can think of when it comes to traditions.
Oh and, you don't have to thank me for being a friend. It's cool to see that Gaia is not only for teenagers. It's, like you said, a fun community on the web.
