Shizuka gave Horo a 'get-serious' smile, but she was secretly flattered. It had to be a good sign if he fell for Netsubo's little white lie.

Shizuka sighed, half-expecting something like this to happen. Now Netsubo-chan was going to get mopey and the only way to make her feel better was jewelery or makeup or something like that.

Shizuka could see that Netsubo's thoughts were conflicting, and it could cause problems. Guessing what she was thinkng, Shizuka didn't hesitate to take action...
...And slap her across the face.
