Takiko-chan Aww, she looks so cute in Watase's present drawing! She didn't look that good 10 years ago. sweatdrop And I would love to see the HQ version! My e-mail is helenaplj@hotmail.com, though I'm not sure if hotmail allows you to receive more that 1 mega... Lemme check. Since I uploaded it through yousendit.com, I figured that I'd just post the link here so that it doesn't go to waste (since the link lasts for either 25 dls or 7 days--whichever comes/goes first). I always thought Subaru was beautiful (even in v11 or 12 or whatever volume it was that they came out in the original FY manga) but now... yeh, I drool. Wakamiya Kyou... *drool* Hot stuff. This scan is from a commemorative fanbook or something (it isn't all that clear). The inside of the booklet contains a whole slew of rough sketches ranging from Suna no Tiara characters to Alice 19th characters and so on and so forth. It's very awesome. Anyway, enjoy the scan:  P.S. The back cover features all the Watase boys and I'll have that up shortly. I'll even zip up scans of the entire booklet (i.e., the rough sketches and stuff) including bigger size files of the front and back cover. It'll be linked up via yousendit.com wink

Nice pictures, I wonder how you got that card album. I wanted to get that but the little send away card said I had to be a Japanese resident to get it. That's the one that included all the Byakko seishi, not the actual Perfect World itself. I have no clue where you got Tasuki x_x and Shigi and Hien were in the Drama CD. So not all of those can be found in the Perfect World volumes when you get them (just letting people know so they don't get their hopes up when they get the volumes).
You're also forgetting the poster from the very first Perfect World with all the couples XD Love that one!
Thanks for the pictures again though, I soooooooo wanted to get that Card album with all the Byakko seishi *huge Tatara fan* so its great to see pictures. Haha you beat me though, I've been working for the past few days to get up a gallery with a lot of these pictures. I was waiting till I got home where my parents have a good scanner as compared to my crappy scanner, printer, copier combo *kicks it* Oh well, I hope to include more than just FYGK as it is, so its taking longer.
As for that fanbook, it looks Chinese o_O There's been no release of a Japanese Watase fanbook. Yea it is, that third Kanji isn't even a Japanese one.

I'm having lots of fun comparing her art to what it was when she wrote these mangas. Asuka, for example... She is TOTALLY different! I could hardly recoganize her. Aya and Manato don't have the same looks too. Most of the other characters are easy to recoganize. Watase's progress in drawing is amazing, isn't it? whee

I was sorta amused about how she drew Manaka and Tamahome on the couples illust. because in each respective manga, they look like... I was also a bit surprised to discover that FYGK was written before Zekkare. (because the order of the sketches) Well... since Zekkare came more often than FYGK, I guess that this explains why it's much longer.
And there are some doujinshis at the end of it! I wonder who drew those. ^^

I wonder who drew those. ^^ About the Amiboshi sketch--it was included as a little omake piece in Yuuai Den (Chiriko's gaiden novel). My Japanese is godawful and I'm still a learner so I may be totally mistranslating the blurb that Watase wrote next to it (I'm reading off the Yuuai Den omake sketch) but I'll take a stab at it anyway: It's a drawing/sketch of a 27-year-old Amiboshi and I think that he was supposed to be in the Eikou Den anime but his character ended up getting cut from the OVA. Again, I could be totally wrong so don't quote me on this. domokun The one in the sketchbook talks about how the Amiboshi sketch was included as an atogaki in a Palette novel (er, I think!)... I'm guessing she's talking about Yuuai Den cause that's the "Palette" novel where the Ami sketch was originally published in. P.S. All the little 4koma and doujinshi pages were probably drawn by Watase's assistants.
