darth603 Seraphine-Exalted damn gotta get that picture out of my head ( weird god like guy sucked in black hole screaming to the gods " come on guys, this aint funny any more, lemme go" in a nerd like voice Dang it, you got that stuck in my head, too gonk A third C'tan was _supposed_ to be added to the mix early this year. It seems to have been canned along with many other things when the Squats killed Andy Chambers. The Dragon sleeps (dreams?) on Mars. The Outsider is somewhere beyond the Gates of Varl. I thought the Outsider was traped in the Dyson Sphere in that area of the galaxy (I forget specifically where) the Tyranid Hivefleet completly avoided it as if they knew something nasty about it. . ?

Tasslehoff92 I'm a new necron player, but old 4dk player, wut should I buy. Start off with a Lord and 2 boxes of Warriors. That's 500 pts. right there. Then expand as you see fit. Warriors are always good, Destroyers and the Monolith add deveastating firepower, Flayed Ones, Paraiahs and Wraiths bring in CC to a otherwise shooting army, Immortals are suped-up Warriors, Scarab Swarms are needed fodder, and Tomb Spyders help the 'Will Be Back!' rule.

That's not completely specified. The Necrons probably have several dozen of them scattered througout the vast reaches of space. The Outsider dwells in at least one of those spheres. Now the fact that the bugs are dodging around it says quite a bit...

I plan on playing a Necron army as my first playing army. Going to sell off my Tau stuff that's unfinished and keep the painted stuff. It's the simplicity of the army that attracts me.

Necrons are such cheese. (No offense Necron players) But they are so easy to play. Easier than SM. They just seem ******** untouchable. Sorry, rant over. Just wanted to hand in my two cents.

Just wanted to hand in my two cents. Necrons may seem unbalanced at times, but so do all armies when you don't take full advantage of their weaknesses. I also dislike the Necrons, only because they have been labeled as an easy to play army so a lot of kids start out with them and don't bother to know the "We'll Be Back" rule at all. It's annoying to throw rulebooks at people and have them read over them for hours when you're trying to play a game. When played by people with enough common sense to read and know their own army's rules then I find facing them an interesting challenge. They're interesting enough to surprise you more than once.

Well as Eldar Necrons just HURT. Especially when you're like me and don't know that you are going to be facing them so you don't end up cramming your army with Starcannons and Brightlances. Just the we'll be back rule basically makes the model 100% more effective and even without that rule they are nasty as hell.

Yeah Necrons are mean to the Eldar, I currently play a Grey Knights Daemunhunter army so I usually eat them in hth, it's getting there that can sometimes be difficult (I don't think deepstriking near them when there's not enough cover is a very good idea. At all. Ever.)

*Laughs.* Ya' that sounds like it wouldn't be too good of an idea. My only way around those feking Necrons seems to logically be transport Scorpions or Banshees in a Wave Seapent or Falcon to get into cc. But once their cc units get into the fray I get eaten alive. GARGNESS!

Dark Jeral Well....think of it this way, all of there base stats are very close to other units of the army. If you can kill a Warrior, you can kill a Hev. Destroyer. Or something like that. Eh... nope. Destroyers have natural T5, and Destroyer Lords are a whopping T6. Killing warriors is a bit different from Destroyers and Heavies, which is very different from trying to squish a Lord. Warriors and Wraiths tend to be the softest units in the entire list. The rest of it is dead 'ard. Now that's not to say you can't shoot them to bits or wipe them out in close combat...

Okay, any suggestions on how to model a phylactery for a Necron Lord?
Oh, and I'm quite annoyed. I think GW stopped producing the Necron Lord that comes with the Staff of Light. domokun

To Darzoni: I think my local game store has quite a few old blister packs and the last time i checked a few of them were necron lords with staffs of light..... i'll send you one if you want.
