Quote: Superman isn’t the only one who returns in Superman Returns. Lex Luthor returns too, with another plan to gain land at the cost of billions of lives. “I guess Lex has always been a character really almost from the beginning who's always been a capitalist. And for him, it's always about land. It's always been about land...I was just delighted by the way in which I think that they wrote a story line that in many ways pays homage to the Donner films" Spacey, via http://actionfilmscomedies.suite101.com/article.cfm/kevin_spacey_on_lex_luthorLand grab plan in the first one, land grab plan again now.

New, late-nite topic added: Storefront Sign You guys may or may not know, Im a B-boy. I pop and lock, and I have the smoothest glides on the East coast. Im a true fan of the five elements of hip-hop. I want to bring some of that here, and see how its welcomed. My new topic, I think modern hip-hop wouldnt be the same without Timbaland. Agree, disagree? Discuss. 3nodding

I can't tell you anything about Timbaland, but I can say that I think that contemporary hip hop has fallen very far from it's roots.

Raven_Darkholme I can't tell you anything about Timbaland, but I can say that I think that contemporary hip hop has fallen very far from it's roots. I would have to agree with you on that one. This new "talent" has no respect for the elements, or the history of hip-hop.

I think that outside the studio, Nelly has the right attitude and the right ideas, but inside the studio is another story altogether. As far as I'm concerned Kanye West, Dead Prez, and Dialated Peoples are some of the few people who are keeping it real. Ice Cube fell off. Jam Master Jay is dead. And so on.
I have a decent amount of love for the elements, especially graf.

Raven_Darkholme I have a decent amount of love for the elements, especially graf.As a dancer, Ive always been a fan of B-Boying and Turntablism. But Ive always paid my respect to the other elements, which require just as much talent. Sad theyve all been nearly forgotten.

Graph has moved into the digital realm. You should see the insane 3d rendered s**t that people are doing at DA. It's gorgeous.

Dag, youre going to turn me on to some new stuff now. blaugh You should see how popping and locking have evolved. We've incorporated each other, and some tutting and botting. Like Magoo says, "My style is like a safe, I swallowed the master key." blaugh

Kyle, you're speaking Greek. I live on the fringe of the elements. I haven't been into the digital graph scene for a while, but I'll see what I can dig up for you.

See though, Hip Hop and Rap music are two completely different things. Hip Hop has its own culture involved in it. Rap is simply one style of music prominent in the culture.
Timbaland's done a lot of good stuff for Rap, but I'm not so sure I'd say the same for Hip Hop.
Missy Elliot, for instance, is a Rap phenomenon. But she has displaced herself from Hip Hop culture.
Hip Hop right now is still Erykah Badu, Jurassic 5, and even to some degree The Streets.
Contemporary Rap music is p***s advertising and Kanye West style ego inflation.
Hip Hop talks about how they made it through life on the streets to a better way.
Rap talks about how they brought the street-life with them to their ten million dollar house with servants and hookers.
Don't get me wrong, I love Missy just as much as the next person, but in all honesty, I don't see Rap music as a branch of Hip Hop anymore.
It's just another form of Dance.

These guys used to be very big and very active, but it seems like they haven't been doing much lately. You should still be able to track down alot of quality stuff from there though.

GAH, I forgot Jurassic Five. crying So when I went to look up that graf for you Kyle I checked my messages and apparently some dude approached me about using some of my art for a website he's working on... for a prominent Psychobilly band. I've heard things like this before that turn out to be a wind up, so I'm being cautiously optimistic. Who knows.
