The Fierce Deity

In my experience, I tend to lean towards this belief:

"In a fight to the death, a character who is not suicidal/stupid/bound by an unbreakable code of honor will use every tool available to him in order to ensure victory. Even in the anime fighter showes when people hold back their greater powers, they do so only when they are confident that they cannot be defeated when doing so (at which point the hero begins to overpower them, and they unleash the beast all over the back of the hero's head).

Unless there is a valid IC reason for holding back in a fight to the death, not using powers that have a perfectly viable combat use simply for 'fair play' is merely justifying having a character that is too powerful."

Now, on the concept of teleportation, that's perfectly fine if it has some sort of charge time... but instant teleportation is the kind of thing that is combat-abusive. BAMFing in next to someone as an ambush is coo', but blinking out of the path of their bullet and delivering a knee to the groin in hte blink of an eye is just... out there.
...well, while you make a good point, Deity's character has his own little quirks, which seem to be leading to a separate storyline that makes him suitable for this tournament.

...for instance...he pretty much always holds back...not because he's confident he'll win anyway, but because he's never really fighting. Deity has only engaged in friendly spars with friends, which rarely are serious enough for him to give it his all.....even so, he still would hold back in a deathmatch, at least for a bit. He does this to test his opponent out a little before going all-out....he's confident, but not cocky. If you want to see Deity roleplay and not hold back, fight his devil character.

Another problem is that, in the Budokai, it would appear that the only means of victory are ring out, submission, or death. Deity doesn't kill people... < <; ....so if he allowed this tournament to take place in-story, and he ran into a stubborn opponent who refused to accept defeat when he had clearly lost, he'd give up before killing th'guy.....so, Deity'll probably need to make this separate from his actual storyline in CO, so he can win a few matches without too much hassle.

...as far as Shunkido is concerned - as Deity said, he mainly uses it for travel or anti-godmodding. On rare occasions he does use it to spring a surprise attack, but his character is already fast enough....for instance, to dodge bullets. He can catch bullets, he really has no need to move...but dodging would require little effort. If he was fighting a light-speed-like character, he'd eventually run out of energy using Shunkido to keep up....it drains energy as it is used. Another good reason t'use it sparingly...

Tacity
Seeing as teleportation is banned in the tournament... Elsewhere, yeah, but just sayin'...
It's a case-by-case situation...Deity was told by Clash that Shunkido would be able t'slide as long as it remains unabused... =P

Some people, I don't know how many, will be treating this thing as canon. Meaning, they will be using their characters, and if they die, they will be dead.

Others are using either 'separate' characters or make-ups that can be tossed if they get killed in here, so it doesn't really matter either way to them.

But, as a common courtesy, everyone should keep the canon ones in mind before deciding that they want to end the fight through head-explosion.

The Fierce Deity

By that, there, 2 of the 3 characters I entered have no real chance of winning no matter what they do, because you can just lightspeed sidestep anything. As for the 3rd, he could win, but the fight would have to last less than 10 seconds before death ensued from yon speedhacking. xp

I wouldn't mind if Gammu did died. I just hope that such a fight would be a pleasure to read.

Same with Trei...I've been debating retiring the character for a while now, so this tourney is canon for me as well. It's the character's last fling...if he lives, I'll continue playin' him. If he dies...well, if you destroy a Spirit's form, I'm pretty sure it ceases existence.

AMP = A worthless tool established by the lower rank of role players and fighters to try and have a reasoning for things they dislike. Each one of thoes terms have no point but to show different style of rping. I myself dont like what they point out as in I agree sometimes, but most of their s**t is stupid.

Well, when one is used to being a "God", they generally don't like it when someone wants to put a limit on what they can do.

:Smokes a cig:

Well it comes down to one term and choice of words which I hate to a tea. The phrase "God Modder" because there is no logic behind the voice which calls one that. Every time I encounter that word used towards me, I hear nothing but someone trying to talk me into circles with out a point to stab me with.

I use DETAILS
I use MECHANICS
I use LOGIC

I use what needs to be used to advance through combat and role plays. I feel that my skill and use of abilities are well earned and as long as I can explain how, where and when I use or Gain these abilities I should be fine and should not be called that word.

But you common folk use nothing of logic or details or mechanics. You post small phrases getting the point across, but that is basicly fighting like blind men and shouting out what you did. Why not fight with your eyes closed? Thats basicly what you do, when you leave mechanics and details out your fighting as the blind with the blind.

I have seen nothing impressive from you jello. Yet you will say the same, but we can clearly see the skill level from myself and the Lev stadium. But I can train one person that could take out a 100 of you.

Its wierd. People just pop up in here, post once, then leave. Odd.

Entertaining as always, Mr. Vexic... whee

@Jello: ...Deity understands that most are taking this tournament as canon, but Deity cant...the only character that can kill without any emotional injury is too powerful. So, just, no...anywhere else, this isn't happening... xD

...can't move at light speed... < <;; ...that's a lot faster than Deity's character.

@Ryugi: Awful, awful habit... > <;;
