"I stand by you Princess, for you have always been kind and helped lead your people very well" Nokomei smiled.
Oathkeeper seemed to beam that many were on the side of peace as he was.

Summer Jessamin at last swung down onto the ground, and quickly darted her way to the princess. She over heard the last bit of the conversation. Sending a party out to meet the pale-faces. Jessamin had no horse, she felt like that was not a good place for her to bed. She had another idea, though. "Princess," She ventured, "I can follow the party we send out from the treetops, for an extra pair of ears and eyes..." She offered the services she was best at. Hiding, climbing, and listening.

Chamain Crowfoot Chamain Awnae watched her friend go. Eyes wide at what she was doing, she too went. Sniffing the horse and the boy. "They smell funny, and they smell like....like what we've been smelling these days." "Yes..." She looked at Awnae. "I wonder if thier soquilis can talk?" She wondered outloud. She again peered at the pale face and his horse. Weakly smiling at the pale faces and their horses. She nodded at her friend. Then she kinda titled her head at the thing they were sitting on. "Strange of them to sit on those...."(( Question > can soquilis talk with the saddle horses? )) (( Yes they can. animals have a universal language in the RP.. so soquilis and familiars can communicate.. just humans dont understand them. Also the place faces dont speak the language of the indians...))

Astia nodded again. "Yes, why would they want to do that?" She grinned weakly, showing her nervousness. "I bet they hurt.."

Freodwyn Padre Miguel looked around at the strange new sights. Triangular structures...dark-skinned people, some with primitive weapons...and the most unusual horses he had ever seen. "Blessed Virgin, protect us..." He added, clutching at the rosary in his pocket until he realized this could probably be seen as carrying a weapon to those who had obviously never heard the good news before. Quickly he held up both hands in the air, though one hand was slightly lower than the other due to grasping the reins. Normally he'd be praying loudly for the souls of the heathens, but he had Christien to look after for the moment. Now that they had stopped, Arama was extremely confused. So many strange sights, sounds, and smells. The horses didn't even have tack on them! And they were sniffing Ansel? "Ansel, what is this place?" she asked. Soquili strolled up to one of the pale faces..he was dressed in dark clothing she had never seen. It looked like ash from the fire. She held up a hand in greeting. "Osiyo" she said..which meant hello.

"Most likely..." Then facing the horses, she smiled. "Do...you...understand...us?" she asked slowly with each word. "Maybe they can understand us eh?" Giving a friendly smile towards the boy.
(( Yay! The soquilis and horses can talk! ))

"Do those things hurt?" She asked the one standing next to the very pale-haired boy.

Christien's blue eyes darted to the Padre for a moment, before turning back to the dark people they faced. This must be what they had been hearing... and what a strange, strange sight! Still, so far no one had moved to attack them. Following the Padre's movements, Christien too raised his hands, though not half as much, and licked his lips in a nervous gesture. "Padre," He whispered, "They don't seem to be attacking us.... m-maybe... maybe they're the help we've been praying for? They seem to know how to survive here..."
"I'm not sure, Arama," Ansel said back, unsure if any of the horses here could understand them. "It looks like a Horse ranch of some sort.. only without the fences!" As if such a thing were heard of!
Above, Christien's eyes darted to one of the two females approaching them. They seemed to be babbling in some bizarre tongue. "That doesnt' sound like spanish... and I know it isn't French..."

Geoffrey blinked a few times as he took in the sight of the natives, too amazed and confused to speak. They were more like animals than people, dark and covered in skins and furs and all manner of odd smells accompanying them. He gave Lady a reassuring pat as he watched them with raised brows, resisting the urge to pull out his journal and write everything down. Once a scholar, always a scholar.
Still, he was concerned about the gunshot. Had some frightened Scotsman set off gunfire on the unsuspecting primitives?.. He waved his hand at them and offered greeting, voiced raised and tone friendly. "Hello there!"
Lady's ears pricked forward and she watched the dark ones and their mounts with caution. The horses were running free, without bridles or saddles! Not a one of them carried anything for their master. Were they that ungrateful?.. She kept close to Geoff.

Mesarthim gave a loud whinny as she saw a brown rope around one of the horses mouth that had the boy riding it. She thought it was hillarious and started giggling.....wihipping her tail back and forth.

Summer Jessamin got the "okay" from Princess Soquili's nod, and darted back to the trees, she climbed swiftly and hung down through the branches. The brown she wore blended in at the angle of her perch, and she appeared like another branch in the tree. From her spot, she could hear and see everything that she deemed necessary. The problem was, the pale faces were making noises as if speaking, but she could not understand them. Perhaps her eyes would be better use than her ears.

Miguel watched one of the heathens of the new world walk toward him and hold up her hand. The word she spoke was strange to him; it seemed he would have to learn yet another language if he was to make progress among these people. Not one to want to offend people with weapons, he held up a hand and said. "Hello." And, to heighten his chances of being understood, he added. "Hola. Osiiyo?"
Arama blinked in surprise when one of the strange horses spoke something she could understand. "Yeah, I can understand you. Why are you talking so slowly?" She blinked for a moment, worried she might be doing something that would put her master in danger. "We...come...in...peace," she said at the same pace the other horse did.

Quickly looking at the boy who spoke something, she knew that he was speaking about Astia and herself. He seemed to be looking at the two of them. "Astia, I don't think we speak the same as they speak. Like our humans and us here." Nodding. Then trying again to speak with the horses. "I'm sure the soquilis can though." Turning to face the other horses.
A sound of laughter came from someone far behid them. Seeing Mesarthim laughing. "What is so funny?" Raising an eyebrow at the mare that was non-stop laughing.
